LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 3

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. Recognize the difference between common noun and proper noun.
b. Use capital letters properly.
c. Appreciate the use of common and proper nouns in our daily lives.

1. Let the pupils listen as the teacher reads the story.
The Farmer
Mang Efren lives in one of the barangay in Catanauan, Quezon. He is a
farmer. He has five children. Namely, Cathy, Mary, Sophie, William, and Roel to feed on.
That is why he works hard to earn money. He gets up before sunrise while the air is still
fresh and cool to work on the field. He leaves the house to reach the farm through walking.
As soon as he reaches his farm, he actively works by plowing the field, applying fertilizers to
the growing plants and pruning. Around 9 in the morning, he takes a break, changes his wet
clothes and take his breakfast. At 9:30, he returns to the fields to continue his works. In the
afternoon, during the hottest hour of the day, Mang Efren takes a rest under the shade of a
tree in his farm. In the late afternoon, he checks the growth of his plants. In the evening he
spends his time with his family. And after a week of hard work, Mang Efren spends his
Sunday with his family and they go to church together.
2. Have the pupils to answer the following questions.
a. Where did the story happen?
b. Who are the characters in the story?
c. How many kids does he have?
d. On what day do they go to church?
C. Motivation:
1. Show the tables. Let the pupils study it.
