    Statement of Purpose

    Since, I was a little boy, becoming a scientist has been my cherished dream. I have always
    been a curious child, seeking reason and logic behind my observations of the world around
    me, and of the explanations put forth by others. The dynamic nature of a living system fills
    me with wonder. It is astounding to see how open yet tightly controlled a biological system is,
    in order to maintain homeostasis. This is precisely why I would like to pursue in research, so
    that I can acquire new skills & knowledge and contribute to science. My college and
    University education played a pivotal role in shaping my future. Five years Bachelor and
    Master’s program in Biotechnology from Adamas University has taught me to analyse
    various biological topics relevant to a problem systematically.

    At Adamas University I have engaged in rigorous coursework in biotechnology. The


    undergraduate and postgraduate courses and associated lab work have enabled me to
    master a variety of tools and techniques such as genomic and plasmid DNA isolation, gel
    electrophoresis, PCR, blotting, chromatography, spectroscopy, immunodiffusion,
    microscopy, PH meter, centrifugation, laminar air flow, bioinformatics etc. In graduate
    program my project work was on topoisomerase inhibition for therapeutics against cancer
    and infectious diseases under guidance of Dr.Rajib Majumder. In my post graduate program
    project work I did on cancer biology to study the role of GPCR in cancer. This project was a
    part of my dissertation that I accomplished under the guidance of Dr.Kuntal Pal, School of
    Life Science and Biotechnology, Adamas University. I did internship in food microbiology at
    SHRM Biotech in 2018 then Biochemical and Biomedical Engineering in Indian Institute of
    Chemical Engineers in 2021. After completing my Master’s degree I decided to join the
    Biotechnology Industry to acquire knowledge at Life Cell International Pvt, Kolkata, India
    from January 2022. Here I worked in Molecular Genetics Lab and I learned RNA isolation,
    RTPCR, Bioinformatics. All throughout my undergraduate and postgraduate career, I have
    equipped myself with participation in various technical symposiums attended seminars and
    have done projects across a spectrum of fields. I also attended various conferences during
    my coursework. Therefore, I am now ready to pursue a PhD to advance my career. I am a
    keen and hard-working individual with a passion for plant biotechnology, cancer biology,
    genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, environmental biotechnology and
    RDT etc.

    Your esteemed university has produced many scholars, entrepreneurs, scientist


    worldwide. It is one of the best research institute in India. The campus environment,
    professors, student are noble and admirable. The laboratories of your university attract me
    for its world class research laboratories facility like Cell Biology Lab & Tissue Culture Lab,
    Molecular Biology, proteomics, metabolomics and high-end confocal Lab etc. I am certain
    that I will be able to cope with the rigors of an International curriculum with case. My
    determination to succeed and do well will enable me to be among the better students of your
    institute. I highly value time and resources and as highlighted in my application. I have
    worked hard in the last five years to thoroughly train myself to pursue a career in research.
    The cutting edge research environment at your university with dedicated research teams and
    technological facilities will be highly suitable for advancing my career.
    I will be greatly honoured if I am given the opportunity to pursue one in shall strive to
    contribute to the field of Life Science & Biotechnology organization.
