    PARENTS’ ORIENTATION ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CATCH-UP FRIDAYS

    GRADE FOUR-ACACIA
    February 12, 2024

    Grade IV-Acacia with Mrs. Jean P. Gamboa held School Parents’ Orientation on the
    implementation of Catch-Up Fridays for learners on February 12, 2024. "Catch Up Reading
    Fridays" is a thoughtful and purposeful initiative aimed at nurturing a love for reading and
    enhancing literacy skills. Mrs. Gamboa presented the provided PPT presentation for parents.
    She explained that this Catch Up Friday provides students with a dedicated time each week
    to immerse themselves in books, explore diverse genres, and cultivate a lifelong appreciation for
    literature.
    Mrs. Gamboa also presented the program of activities their children will follow during
    Fridays. She reported to the parents that at present there is only one male learner in their class
    who is considered as non-reader. She asked the help of parents in making the fast readers
    comprehensive readers, average readers to fast readers, slow readers to average readers and
    non-readers to readers. She emphasized the importance of parents’ support at home in order to
    attain this target.
    The parents were delighted to know that the school is truly after improving the reading skills
    of their children. They expressed their full support in order to help their children.
