One way slab

Design a simply supported slab on masonry walls to the following requirements clear spam = 2.5m.

Live load = 3000 N/m^2 3 KN/m^2

Use M-20 grade concreteand Fe 415 steel Clear span = 2.5 m
fck = 20 N/mm^2 fy = 415 N/mm^2
Input:
Assuming bearing = 200 mm 0.2 m
Dia of bars = 10 mm
Clear cover = 15 mm
c/c distance b/w bearing = clear span+ bearing
= 2.7 m 2700 mm

d' = clear cover + dia/2 = 20 mm

Thickness of slab

Effective depth d= span/25 = 108 mm

Say 110 mm 0.11 m

Overall depth of slab

D = d+ clear cover + dia/2 130 mm 0.13 m

Effective span:
Least of the following
1 c/c distance b/w bearing = 2.7 m
2 clear span + effective depth = 2.61 m

Therefore, effective span Leff = 2.61 m

Load calculation:
Dead load = 3.25 KN/m^2 y = 25 KN/m^3
Live load = 3 KN/m^2
20mm thick floor finish = 0.48 KN/m^2 y = 24 KN/m^3
0.02 m

Total load W = 6.73 KN/m^2

Factored load per m (Wu) = 1.5*W*1

= 10.095 KN/m

Factored moment Mu

Mu = Wu*lef^2/8 8.596 KN-m

Check for effective depth

equating Mu = Mu,lim = 0.138fckbd^2 b per m, = 1000 mm

d,req = MU/0.138fckb = 55.81 < d = 110 mm

Area of rft
Mu/bd^2 = 0.71

Refer SP 16 Table - 2

for fck 20 = N/mm^2 and fy = 415 N/mm^2

Pt = 0.206

Ast = ptbd/100 = 226.6 mm^2

using 8 mm dia bars

Area of one bar, ast = πd^2/4 = 50.27 mm^2

spacing S = 1000ast/Ast 221.8247 mm

Say = 220 mm

Provide 8 mm dia bars @ 220 mm c/c

Bending half of the bars @ 0.1 Ix from face of the support = 0.1*2.61 = 0.26 m

Distribution rft

Ast,min = 0.12%Bd = 156 mm^2

Spacing:
least of the following:
1 Spacing of 8 mm dia bars = 1000ast/Ast,min
= 322.215 mm
2 spacing less than 5d = 550 mm
3 450mm = 450 mm

Say Sv = 322.215 mm

Therefore, Sv = 300 mm

Therefore
Provide 8 mm dia bars @ 300 mm c/c
