1. Application
SK two-way diverter / converger pipeline valve provides positive and
dependable switching of material flow in pressure pneumatic conveying pipelines.
Numerous applications are suitable for a wide variety of products such as cement,
lime stone, pulverized coal, bentonite, talc, barite and other pulverized material.

the valve plate. You manipulate the movement of valve to ensure that the valve plate
can completely cover the orifice on the valve seat and that the valve is free from the
stress from the pipelines.
The installation and commissioning of SK two-way valve was accomplished in
the factory. Please refer to chapter 7 to commission it again if something unusual
happens during transport.

5. Operation
5.1 Conversion
Never switch the valve during material conveying of the pneumatic conveying
system. The reasons are as follows:
a. Since valve plate is under the pressure from the pipeline its movement under
load will accelerate wearing and cause a load higher than the usual torque.
b. The conversion of valve plate during material conveying of the pneumatic
conveying system will result in air failure and pile-up of material in some pipeline and
restarting using the pipeline will cause fluctuation of system pressure and overload of
air compressor.
The pneumatic conveying pipelines should be cleaned before conversion of valve
plate. It is beneficial to change the valve plate to the required position after turning the
operating lever for several times when you are going to switch the valve after the
system stops operating. In this way you can clean the valve seat and prolong the
service life of the valve.
Turning the operating lever of valve position regularly during standing by of the
pneumatic conveying system can provide the valve seat with a longer service life.
This is because such sediment as dust and condensate can be removed from the
coverless valve seat by so doing.
5.2 Operation of Manual Valve
To realize switching a SK valve use an iron rod 20±4mm in diameter and
450~900 mm in length. Insert it into the hole on operating lever of valve position to
pull out the locking pin. Then turn the valve plate to the required position and insert
the pulled-out locking pin back into the hole for tight locking and positioning.
5.3 Operating of Electric Valve
The automatic starting and shutdown of the electric valve are completed by an
electric actuator for the valve. For the use and adjustment of the electric actuator for
the valve please refer to Chapter 7.
It should be best to first install the valve at the down stream of the flow control
valve when you are going to operate a multi-valve pneumatic conveying system. In so
doing you can prevent contamination of the extended pipelines and enhance the
reliability of valve operation.

result in payment of expenses but no worthwhile repair.
We, as the manufacturer, are ready to provide you with perfect maintenance
service.
Leaking of the valve shows wrong linkage and debugging between valve plate
and valve seat or shows worn-out or damaged valve seat. If you want to repair the
valve in your factory you must know the working principle and technological tricks of
the valve, which can ensure success in your repair.
6.3 Adjustment of Spring Force
The pre-tightening force on valve plate comes from the helical pressure spring.
You may check for proper pressure by slowly unscrewing the two hexagon screws
positioning the subpanel of limit switch in a way that you unscrew the hexagon
screws for the spring to restore to the free state and then measure the distance between
the machined surface of the boss and the subpanel. The distance should be as listed in
table 2. In case of insufficient distance put adequate number of shims between spring
and shaft shoulder to achieve the adequate distance.
6.4 Lubrication
The turning shaft is lubricated by means of an oil cup supplied by us. Pack a
proper amount of grease into the valve body for the valve plate and valve seat to be
stuck with a layer of mixture of material and grease, which will reduce air tightness of
the valve.
The crank and the head of the operating lever of valve position is lubricated by
means of the oil cup supplied by us too.
Add grease regularly to the above portions in need of lubrication for the SK valve
to work very well. The required temperature for the use of the grease is -34℃~70℃.

terminal point switch on the right indicating “opened”. Then manually enable the
valve to be at the branch-path position and the valve plate to be at the straight-through
orifice and put the other cam onto the splined shaft to open the terminal point switch
on the left indicating “closed”.
7.2 Regulation of Indication of Opening Span
a. Unscrew the screws at the shaft end.
b. Take down the indicator.
c. Put the indicator on the positions corresponding to “opened” and “closed”.
d. Screw tight the screws at the shaft end.
7.3 Use and Maintenance of Electric Actuator on Motorized Valve
The electric executive mechanism must be checked regularly as required by
environment, worksite conditions and actual needs.
7.3.1 Electric Devices
a. Check to see whether the electric elements are sensitive, reliable, expired,
aging or affected with damp.
b. Check to see whether the connections and contacts are reliably welded.
c. Check the electric motor according to the requirement for the electric motor.
7.3.2 Mechanical Devices
a. Check for adequate lubrication and for deteriorated grease.
b. Check for loosened screws and nuts and for loosened bearings at both ends of
the worm gear. Check them regularly. Solve the problems promptly after they are
found out before further use.
