Energy resources
Overview
Energy resources are essential for our modern
world, propelling everything from the glow of
city lights to the hum of our electronic devices.
From ancient forces to cutting-edge
technologies. There are various types of energy
resources like:
Hydro power energy, Rain and river water gather in a dam-made lake.
When the water flows down, it turns a turbine that's linked to a generator,
making electricity.
Electricity can be obtained from oil through thermal power generation. This
involves burning refined oil to produce heat, which is then used to boil water and
generate steam. The steam drives turbines connected to generators, ultimately
producing electricity. However, this process contributes to environmental
pollution through emissions released during combustion, underscoring the
importance of transitioning towards cleaner and more sustainable energy
sources.
The nuclear power station uses radioactive elements as fuel. In the boiler the
nuclear fuel does not burn. But its energy is released by nuclear reaction
(nuclear fission) which splits atoms. Then the other process works as fuel
power station.
Electricity from biofuels involves burning organic materials like crops or animal
waste to produce heat. This heat boils water, creating steam that drives turbines
connected to generators for electricity. While renewable, biofuels still emit some
pollutants, prompting ongoing efforts for cleaner energy solutions.
The Pros and cons
of Efficiency
conclusion
Q1) What are the major types of energy resources, and how are they
classified?
Q3) How does the process of energy extraction differ between renewable
Q1) Energy resources are categorized into renewable, such as solar and wind, and non-
renewable, like fossil fuels and nuclear energy, based on their ability to naturally replenish
over time.
Q2) Solar power works well in many places and is reliable, but it can be expensive; wind
power gives a lot of energy but depends on the wind and might have some noisy and visible
parts.
Q3) Getting energy from sunlight, wind, and water is kinder to the environment and keeps
going, but using coal, oil, and uranium for energy involves taking them from the ground,
Q4) Energy efficiency means using less energy to do the same tasks, which helps save
