Job Description:

Overview

Reporting to the Assoc. Director, Enterprise Applications as a member of the IT Enterprise Applications
team, the Enterprise Applications, Adaptive Planning Administrator is a talented individual contributor,
responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing complex Workday reports that supports an
informed decision-making process of Material’s executive leadership, Finance and FP&A teams. This
position requires an in-depth understanding of Workday reporting, Adaptive Planning, FP&A processes,
and financial data analysis.

The Enterprise Applications, Adaptive Planning Administrator is an enthusiastic individual contributor


who partners with Finance, FP&A, Accounting, and IT Enterprise Applications stakeholders to deeply
understand and execute requirements of matrix and composite reports the includes (FP&A, Core Finance,
Workforce Planning, and Resource Management). They fulfil Material IT's mission of People First by
identifying & implementing best practices, ensuring value is delivered by Material’s investment in
Workday reporting and analytics. They appreciate nuance, but fight complexity, motivated by the
satisfaction of faster, more reliable outcomes for Material’s client-facing project teams and end-users, and
are energized by exposure to the full gamut of the Enterprise Applications, translating business &
reporting needs into reliable, scalable & secure solutions.
Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a partner supporting Finance modules in Workday, including FP&A reporting,


Expenses, Procurement, Projects, etc.
• Provide consultation to Finance teams (primarily FP&A), building domain knowledge,
gathering requirements, providing solutions and impact analysis.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on current and upcoming Workday capabilities.
• Configure, test, validate and implement related Business Process changes in Workday.
• Assist in testing of integrations, security and recurring events.
• Provide input and knowledge sharing with IT Finance squad(s), Finance, and FP&A teams
as appropriate.
• Participate in scheduled and ad-hoc training in order to improve policy and process
acumen.
• Design and maintain system configuration in Workday and Adaptive Planning.
• Collaborate with FP&A team members to identify reporting requirements and translate
them into technical specifications.
• Provide analysis of impacts to reporting based on new releases or updates to integrated
system functionality and recommend/apply changes.

Knowledge and Skills

• Understanding of Finance operations within Workday and experience in Finance data


management and reporting in Adaptive Planning.
• Ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information
with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects.
• Proven ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy and with highly confidential data.
• Working knowledge of HCM and Finance information systems, including experience in
designing, building and testing reports in various applications including Workday and Adaptive
Planning.
• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field


• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Workday Finance (Pro certification preferred)
• Strong understanding of financial concepts, data analysis, and FP&A processes (Adaptive
Planning is a must)
• Foundational understanding of day-to-day Professional Services and related business
processes, including:
• Core Financials
• Financial Planning
• Expenses
• Project Billing
