    Introduction:

    Welcome to Koiak! As a Koiak interpreter, you play a vital role in facilitating clear and effective
    communication across languages and cultures. This Code of Ethics and Conduct outlines the principles and
    expectations that guide your professional behavior while working with Koiak. By endorsing this code, you
    demonstrate your commitment to providing exceptional interpreting services and upholding the highest
    ethical standards.

    Core Principles:

    Accuracy and Integrity: You will faithfully convey the source language message, preserving its meaning
    and spirit in the target language. This includes considering linguistic nuances and cultural contexts.
    Cultural Sensitivity and Respect: You will demonstrate cultural competency, treating all individuals with
    respect and sensitivity.
    Confidentiality: Any information obtained through assignments, including written materials and client
    details, must be kept strictly confidential.
    Professionalism: You will maintain a professional demeanor, arriving on time and prepared for all
    assignments. Your attire should be appropriate for the interpreting setting.
    Impartiality and Objectivity: You will remain neutral and unbiased, avoiding personal opinions or
    conflicts of interest that could affect your interpreting accuracy.
    Continuing Education: You are committed to continuous professional development, actively seeking
    opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

    Specific Expectations:

    Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure: You agree not to disclose any confidential information obtained
    through Koiak assignments, including client details or project content. This applies even after the
    assignment is complete.
    Conflicts of Interest: You will disclose any real or perceived conflicts of interest that could impact your
    ability to provide objective and impartial interpreting services. This includes interpreting for close
    associates or situations where confidentiality may be compromised.
    Scope of Practice: Your focus is on delivering exceptional interpreting services. You will avoid offering
    advice, counseling, or engaging in activities beyond the scope of professional interpreting.
    Reporting Concerns: If you encounter any situations that may hinder your ability to interpret effectively
    or raise ethical concerns, you are obligated to notify KOIAK‘s management team immediately.
    Professional Development: Koiak encourages ongoing professional development. You are responsible for
    seeking opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge base through training, continuing education,
    or collaborating with peers.
    Client Communication: You will educate all parties involved in the interpreting session politely and
    courteously, ensuring clear communication throughout the process.

    Compliance and Enforcement:

    This Code of Ethics and Conduct applies to all Koiak interpreters. Failure to comply with these principles may
    result in disciplinary action, including termination of your contract with Koiak.
