INFER HOW LIFESTYLE CAN AFFECT

THE RESPIRATORY AND


CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

For SCIENCE Grade 9


Quarter 1 / Week 3
FOREWORD

This Self Learning Kit is prepared for the students in order for
them to infer how one’s lifestyle can affect the functioning
respiratory and circulatory system.
This Self Learning Kit is divided into three parts:
I. What Happened The part where the learners will answer
two pretests entitled scienTEST intended for them to recall
the different parts of circulatory and respiratory system.
II. What you need to know The part where the students will
recognize the meaning of the word “lifestyle” and will
classify and provide effects of the different lifestyles to
circulatory and respiratory system.
III. What have I learned? The part where the students are
going to write at least 10 lifestyles and classify them as
good or bad for circulatory and respiratory system and to
provide a one-sentence effect of the different lifestyle to
the mentioned systems.
At the end of this Self Learning Kit the students are expected to
classify lifestyles as good or bad for the respiratory and circulatory
system, create a catchy slogan for a healthy lifestyle in preventing
diseases affecting the two systems, and provide personal ideas on
the effects of the different lifestyles.

OBJECTIVES:

A. Name the effects of the different lifestyles to circulatory and

What is lifestyle?

A lifestyle is a consistent style of living that reflects the


attitudes and values of a person or a group. It can also be defined
as someone's way of living; the things that a person or particular
group of people usually do. A lifestyle could be bad or good
depending on how a person discipline himself in doing his
consistent actions and on how he uses his resources to satisfy
himself. Regardless to what kind of lifestyle a person choose yet it
has consequences to his body, of course if it is a good lifestyle it will
give positive outcomes while if it is bad it will give negative effects.
Let’s learn together!
Given the following lifestyles let’s classify them as good or bad for
circulatory and respiratory system.
