    Degrees of Comparison terbagi menjadi 3
    bagian:
    1. Positive Degree (perbandingan tingkat
    “sama” atau “se…”)
    2. Comparative Degree (perbandingan
    tingkat “lebih”)
    3. Superlative Degree (perbandingan tingkat
    “paling” atau “ter…”)
    Positive Degree
    Pola kalimatnya :

    N + tobe + as + adjective + as + N

    Ex : I am as tall as you (saya setinggi kamu)

    N + verb + as + adjective + as + N

    Ex : I study as hard as you


    (saya belajar sekeras kamu)
    Comparative degree
    Exercises
    Tina / beautiful / Shinta
    Tina is as beautiful as Shinta

    1. Mr. John / old / my father


    2. You / diligent / your sister
    3. I / active / you
    4. My cat’s fur / soft / the rabbit’s
    5. The lion / wild / the tiger
     Comparative Degree
    untuk adjective yang terdiri dari 1 atau 2
    suku kata, maka tambahkan kata –er di
    belakang adjectivenya.

    Ex :
    Long => longer tall => taller
    Young => younger old => older
    Short => shorter lazy => lazier
    Cold => colder hot => hotter
    Comparative degree
    Pola kalimatnya :

    N + tobe + adj+er + than + N

    Ex : I am taller than my father (aku lebih tinggi daripada


    ayahku)

    N + verb + adj+er + than + N

    Ex : My father works harder than my mother.


    (ayahku bekerja lebih keras daripada ibuku)
    Untuk adjective yang lebih dari 2 suku kata,
    maka tambahkan kata “more” di depan
    adjective nya.

    Ex :
    Beautiful => more beautiful
    Dangerous => more dangerous
    Diligent => more diligent
    Expensive => more expensive
    Delicious => more delicious
    Pola kalimatnya :

    N + tobe + more + adjective + than + N

    Ex : She is more beautiful than an actress


    (dia lebih cantik daripada seorang aktris)

    N + verb + more + adjective + than + N

    Ex : Pizza looks more delicious than noodles


    (pizza terlihat lebih lezat daripada mie)
     Pola kalimat Superlative 1 suku kata

    N + tobe + the + Adj+est + N + in/of…

    Ex :
    a. Ani is the prettiest girl in my class.
    (Ani adalah gadis paling cantik di kelasku)
    b. Ali is the smartest student in 8A.
    (Ali adalah murid terpandai di 8A)
     Superlative 2 suku kata / lebih

    N + tobe + the + most + adjective + N +


    in/of…
    Ex :
    a. Tuti is the most beautiful girl in my village.
    (Tuti adalah gadis paling cantik di
    kampungku)
    b. Math is the most difficult subject at school
    (Matematika adalah pelajaran tersulit di
    sekolah)
     Ada beberapa kata sifat dengan perubahan
    bentuk yang sangat berbeda.
