INTRODUCTION

• Polymers are used in several fields such as automobile parts,

windshields for fighter planes, wood substitutes.

• A polymer is generally defined as a chemical compound or a

blend of compounds formed by a process of polymerization.

• There are two types of polymers :

1. Thermosetting polymer
2. Thermoplastic polymer
ABSTRACT

Injection molded polymer composites are one of the widely

used materials as they show superior properties than their parent
materials. Here we have conducted experimental investigation to study
the mechanical characteristics of Polypropylene (PP) – High Density
Polyethylene (HDPE) – Wood powder Filled Composite. Both PP-
HDPE/Wood powder composite are blended using injection molding
machine. The properties are found by conducting various tests like
Tensile test, Shore D Hardness, Flexural test and Impact test were
studied in this investigation.

Keywords: Characterization, Injection Molding, PP, HDPE.
