REFLECTION
and
Comparison
REFLECTION
RIDDHI DADHICH – Group Leader
Our Mother Earth is highly damaged because of plastic.
It is very harmful for the environment, humans and all
living creatures. It has also caused a lot of global
warming. We should take all these things as a warning
by nature telling us to reduce the use of plastic and find
new solutions.
We are trying really to convince people about the
disadvantages being made because of plastic. We
interviewed a lot of people trying to know their views on
the increasing rates ofplastic and what initiatives they
are taking to reduce it.
As an individual I am very happy to work in this project
as it brought a lot of positive thoughts and impact on my
surroundings. I hope that people will start analyzing on
how important and reducing plastic can be, and how
harmful it is in our daily life.
TABITHA PREMIER – group interviewer

Plastic is such a threatening material and we still have

thousands of people using it. It is one of the major causes of
‘GLOBAL WARMING’. It also causes pollution in many
ways may it be through water, or through air.
We have been doing various campaigns in and around our
school to spread the awareness of plastic usage and
fortunately we have around a 90% of them showing
changes against plastic. As a result the usage of plastic in
the vicinity has become comparatively low, but we still need
to work on it to completely stop the usage of it.
Me as individual started to find ways in which I could reduce
plastic and have seen the drastic change in which there is
an high decrease of the number of plastic bags and other
plastic materials used. I hope the usage of plastic eventually
stops within the next 5 years in the country and soon the
world can be ‘PLASTIC FREE’.
AARANA – GROUP WRITER
The environmental threat that is being posed by
the egregious amounts of plastic waste that have
accumulated over the years, and that will likely
continue to increase unabated, recycling is the
best option, and raising your voice for this matter
will definitely make a change. The ‘Eumind
Project’ on behalf of that, really makes a change
towards the people by hearing upon views and
solutions that can be done regarding this matter.
In future, I hope the world including us, have
found a new solution towards this matter. I feel
fortunate having the chance to work on a project
like this. The small and petty steps we have taken
in the last four months of this project have slowly
started showing positive results. On an individual
basis, I have reduced the use of plastic and look
forward to do the same by spreading awareness
amongst my fellow beings,by taking this step
gives me immense happiness.
PULKEET JAIN – group photographer
Plastic is a very harmful material. Plastic has
harmed many people. It is one of the reason of
global warming. It is dangerous for the wildlife
because if they consume plastic, it will have an
hazardous effect on them. We took many
initiatives , took opinions from our fellow mates
and had interviews with some well known
organization and our school staff. I express my
heart felt gratitude towards our teachers, and the
Principal for giving me the chance to learn to
sane the environment and save life on earth. I’d
also like to thank my fellow members for helping
me out with this.On an individual basis, I have
reduced the use of plastic and look forward to do
the same by spreading awareness amongst other
as well.
PRAKASHMANN Editor
Plastic waste has hampered the environment
in many untold ways. Environmentalist
alongside volunteers have been working hard
to spread the message of Reduce, Reuse and
Recycle. We as a part of the young generation
should take initiative to make sure that plastic
recycling is treated with utmost priority as that
is something that concerns each and everyone
and there are no exceptions to it.

My role in the group was to edit videos and

photos about how people can creatively
reduce, reuse and recycle plastic.In
conclusion, I would use various plastic
segregation tecniques for various trash kinds
such as e-waste, dry waste. wet waste, etc.
"Alone we can do so little; together we can do
so much." – Helen Keller

‘Eumind’ was a great project which has showed

us our abilities, teamwork and our potential. It
gave us the best learning experience we could
ever receive, and we are truly grateful for that!!
It helped us to know about the school of
Netherlands.Discussion between both the
schools brought us upto the fact that we knew
more about each others countries.
Comparison
There were a few similarities between both the groups, that
were the activities conducted in the school, collaboration
with the recycling firms etc. ‘RBHS’ has a ‘Digital Nativese
Club’ where the students learn the use of plastic materials
learnt the making of the eco bricks. The clubs function right
from Grade 1, therefore, the students are acquainted and
involved in the “Best Out of Waste” activities especially
focusing on plastic reuse. Active discussions and debates
are held in class to initiate this awareness.
‘Schoonhovens’ also has projects periods every week
where similar activities are conducted. Students analyzed
that prevention of plastic waste is a permanent and
appropriate solution over a period of time. Both the schools
agreed on the fact that huge amount of plastic waste is
being generated all over the globe majorly due to lack of
awareness. Both the groups have shared their numbers on
the whats app group and discuss their queries on it.
“Success is best when it is shared.” – Howard Schultz

The success of the “Eumind Project” lies in the enthusiastic

and lively participation and collaborative interaction between
both the schools – ‘RBHS’ and ‘Schoonhovens’. Both the
schools were clear about the fact that despite its use, plastic is a
nuisance and therefore timely steps have to be initiated to
minimize plastic waste. The most important part of this project
was instilling a realization that plastic waste generation is a
problem to be catered by every individual before pinning it up as
a global problem. The already existing plastic waste cannot be
vanished overnight and thus patience paired with smart steps is
the key to curb this issue. The students of both the school
enthusiastically collaborated for the same and vowed to make a
positive n impactful difference. When speaking about both the
countries biking is more common.
The main aim is to be putting the 3R's to use - Reduce , Reuse
and Recycle is the need of the hour.
Our peers learned from us, the alternatives to upcycle plastic
generated by packaged food industry also known as One Time
Used Plastic through an organisation named as ’ECOKAARI-
Humanising Fashion’. We on the other hand, learned about the
activities , projects and steps undertaken by them at the school
level as well as the government. Our peers from
‘Schoonhovens’ are more inclined towards segregation of
plastic waste and recycling as a basic step of managing plastic
waste. The questions put up were 1]How do you create awareness
About plastic recycling in your school? 2]Which is the most
common alternative you have for plastic?

To summarize, we can conclude that the knowledge, experience

and values we shared over this brief period indeed cultivated the
seeds of optimism with respect to not just Plastic Recycling but
also friendship.

After all, ‘An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.’

Plastic Free Canteen

Our students arranged

Canteen for the secondary
section on 8 th November
2023.
We have asked our students
to carry their own cutlery
instead of plastic spoons and
plates, thus reducing the
plastic use in school
canteen.
THANK YOU.
