What is 4G History Whats new in 4G Features Technology Difference b/w 3G & 4G Application Advantages Disadvantages Future Outlook Conclusion Refrences

A wireless access technology and is the successor of 3G.

Called "3G and Beyond". Enables seamless roaming between technologies. Plans on releasing the first commercial network in 2015 by

NTT DoCoMo Company is testing 4G communication at 100 Mbps while moving, and 1 Gbps while stationary.

Entirely packet-switched networks.

All network elements are digital. Higher bandwidths to provide multimedia services at lower cost (up to 100Mbps). Tight network security.

4G

networks are all-IP (Internet Protocol) based heterogeneous networks

will allow users to: Select any system at any time and any where
Use Multiple systems at the same time(e.g. GPS and

interactive multimedia services: teleconferencing, wireless Internet, video chatting, etc. bandwidths, higher bit rates. mobility and service portability.

SDR

It transmits large amounts of digital data over a radio wave.

OFDM works by splitting the radio signal into multiple smaller sub-signals that are then transmitted simultaneously at different frequencies to the receiver .

It is also compatible with other enhancement Technologies, such as smart antennas and MIMO(multiple input multiple output).

smart antenna can be employed to find tune ,and turn up signal

information. smart antenna can send signal back in the same direction that they come from.
There

are two types of smart antennas switched beam antenna:- It has fixed beams of transmission, and switch from predefined beam to another when the user with the phone moves throughout the sector. Adaptive array antenna :- Adaptive arrays allow the antenna to steer the beam to any direction of interest while simultaneously nulling interfering signals .

IPv6 Each

means Internet Protocol Version 6 . computer (known as a host) on the Internet has at least

one IP that uniquely identifies it from all other computers

on the Internet.
It

includes128 bits, which is 4 times more than 32bits IP

address in IPv4.
IPv6

support is essential in order to support a large number

of wireless-enabled devices.

A software defined radio is one that can be configured to any radio or frequency standard through the use of software. Roaming can be an issue with different standards, but with a software defined radio, users can just download the interface upon entering new territory, or the software could just download automatically.

Expected to be launched by 2015

As the history of mobile communications shows, attempts have been made to reduce a number of technologies to a single global standard. Projected 4G systems offer this promise of a standard that can be embraced worldwide through its key concept of integration. 4G Wireless Communication will be more faster ,efficient and reliable than 3G and 2.5G computers in all aspects.

4G is expected to be launched by 2015 and the world is looking forward for the most intelligent technology that would connect the entire globe.
