and websites.
CYBERCRIME
Refers to criminal
activities carried
out by means of
computers or the
Internet.
HACKING
It is the act of
compromising digital
devices and networks
through unauthorized
access to an account or
computer system.
ILLEGAL
DOWNLOADING
Illegal downloading (also
known as piracy) is when
a user downloads a copy
of paid content for free
without permission from
the owner.
DIGITAL PIRACY
Digital piracy refers to the illegal copying or distribution of
copyrighted material via the Internet. It negatively affects the
creative industries, including film, TV, publishing, music and
gaming.
IDENTITY THEFT
Refers to all types of
crime in which someone
wrongfully obtains and
uses another person's
personal data in some way
that involves fraud or
deception, typically for
economic gain.
CYBER
DEFAMATION
Is a new concept but it virtually defames a person through
new medium. The medium of defaming the individual's
identity is through the help of computers via internet.

CYBERSEX
Cybersex is a virtual sex encounter via the internet or cell
phone that doesn't involve person-to-person contact. It's
also known as internet sex, computer sex, netsex, or
cybering.
CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
Any visual depiction of
sexually explicit
conduct involving a
minor (persons less
than 18 years old).
CYBERSQUATTING
Unauthorized registration and use of Internet domain
names that are identical or similar to trademarks,
service marks, company names, or personal names.
COMPUTER
ADDICTION
The excessive use of computers
to the extent that it interferes
with daily life. This excessive
use may, for example, interfere
with work or sleep, result in
problems with social interaction,
or affect mood, relationships,
and thought processes.
DIGITAL DIVIDE
An economic inequality between groups in terms of access to, use of, or
knowledge of ICT. The divide within countries (such as the digital divide in the
United States) can refer to inequalities between individuals, households,
businesses, and geographic areas at different socioeconomic (and other
demographic) levels. The Global digital divide designates countries as the units
of analysis, and examines the divide between developing and developed
countries on an international scale.
NETIQUETTE
Describes the rules of conduct for
respectful and appropriate
communication on the internet.
Netiquette is often referred to as
etiquette for the internet. These are
not legally binding rules, but
recommended rules of etiquette.
Netiquette is mostly used for dealing
with unknown people on the
internet.
