Education and online technology are merging to create a new mode of learning for students. This new learning mode allows many adult learners the opportunity to achieve at a level that has not been reached in traditional learning environments. The collaboration of different learning styles and the use of technology enhance this process. Now that online education is growing rapidly with the support of online universities and for-profit institutions, it is necessary to explore the benefits of integrating different technology resources to support adult learning styles.

Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to weave critical retail success factors into a retail operational model. Design/methodology/approach – This research integrates principles of traditional literature review with conceptual analysis and a reflective inquiry of a practitioner.
Findings – This paper reveals a scarcity in research attempting to entwine success factors into workable models. Consequently, a retail approach towards the principles of evidence-based management is proposed, a new methodology for developing a retail management theory is provided, and an operational model is crafted.
Research limitations / implication – While the study provides evidence for the complexity of success in retail, it does not address all success factors such as e-retail, for example. Further, as an emerging theory this paper invites scholars
and practitioner to build on its premise towards a comprehensive theory for retail success.
Value / Originality – To this author’s knowledge, this paper is the first attempt to integrate evidence based management into retail management. It provides a specific rationale to encourage practitioners to use the principles of evidence based management in daily operations. It also opens the door for academics to critique and complement this model. As such, it benefits both practitioners and academics

The invention and active use of PowerPoint in university classroom has transitioned academic teaching from transparencies and overhead projectors into new ages of teaching and learning. The next challenge for professionals has been the appropriate and effective use of PowerPoint and lectures as it relates to working adults where a differing school of thought exist when lecturing through 50 to 100 PowerPoint slides as an effective way to engage graduate students. Progressive professors are using new tools that offer stories that provide context, relevance, and handles, for knowledge retention for graduate students through the use of case studies, simulations, and videos, including Donald Trump’s The Apprentice. This paper provides contextual examples regarding how to use real world stories with student-centered teaching and learning as a means of engaging graduate students, connecting with them, and providing opportunities for the practical application of course content.

Colleges and universities have encountered vigorous change in recent years. These changes have created a need for colleges and universities to evolve, change, and adapt. Responding to change often requires changes in organizational cultures. This applied research study explores the value and benefits of making cultures more adaptive in an unprecedented time of organizational environmental instability

Communication and information technology (IT) has developed rapidly within the last decade. As a result, project managers must be prepared to manage the current and future challenges within the project management field, as well as within the IT industry. Rapid globalization of business means organizations must significantly increase its capacity to accurately manage information and data. In response to this growing capacity demand, more discussion is needed to develop effective IT project management processes and approaches.

For-profit entities around the world have explored, evaluated, and implemented initiatives relative to social responsibility. These efforts, developed in academia and by various business industry practitioners, have become publicly salient following the 2008 financial crisis. The production of goods and services can generate earnings but also have indirect social impacts, whether it is through economic, legal, ethical, or environmental changes. Boli and Harsuiker (2001) suggested that 90% of Fortune 500 firms embraced Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as an essential element within their organizational goals, and actively promote their CSR activities in annual reports. Business organizations that currently do not use social responsibility initiatives or perhaps, do not have an understanding of how social responsibility is beneficial to the company’s future prospect. However, this perspective is not common. According to Bowen (1953), CSR had begun as a field of study since Fortun...
