In the current study, Mahalanobis distance is used to compare the differences between two groups of university students’ levels of self-efficacy, depression, anxiety, and stress. Differences between student groups for all dependent variables assessed at once aren’t taken into account. Mahalanobis distance is an effective metric for determining a group of variables’ dynamical character. For this study, three distinct dichotomous groupings of students are taken into account. Five dependent variables-general self-efficacy, specific self-efficacy, depression, anxiety, and stress-are compared using Mahalanobis Distance to see how dynamically they differ. It is discovered that the dynamical nature of five dependent variables for various sets of independent variables is not significantly different. Keywords: General self-efficacy, Specific self-efficacy, Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Mahalanobis distance, University students.

Self-esteem is the cognitive and affective perception an individual has about one self's worth. Self-esteem is one of the influential factors that affect students' academic achievement. Physics achievement is important aspect for academic achievement of the higher secondary science students. Researchers have selected 200 higher secondary student who are studying physics subject from Govt.-aided and private institutions in Purba Bardhaman district through simple random sampling technique. The study reveals a strong relationship between self-esteem and physics achievement. Further, it may be concluded that both the variables are influenced by gender but these are not influenced by type of institutions. This study may be helpful in suggesting self-esteem building courses for physics students of higher secondary level.

Mental disorder is very dangerous and responsible for many psychological diseases and for maladjustment also. The main objective of the topic is to compare mental health between rural and urban adolescent students of Chhattisgargh. A sample size of 200 secondary adolescent students was selected and taken up for the study. General Health Questionnaires-28 (GHQ-28), developed by Goldberg and Hillier in 1979 used for the study. It is found that there are significant differences among rural and urban students.

Institutional commitment is the connectedness of the employee to the organization that he/she deals in. It is the pledge of the employee to that organization to act for the betterment and progress of that institution. The main purpose of the study is to make a comparison among the different dimensions of institutional commitment like affective commitment, professional commitment, commitment to the learner and academic commitment taken together as a unit using Mahalanobis distance. It is a Descriptive survey type research. Data for the present study have been accumulated from 400 secondary level school teachers of West Bengal, India using Stratified Random sampling technique. Different dimensions of Organizational Climate are compared taking gender and location of institution as independent variables applying Mahalanobis distance. The result revealed that there is no significant difference in dynamical nature of the dichotomous groups when four dependent variables i.e. Affective Commitment, Professional Commitment, Commitment to the Learner and Academic Commitment collected as a branch.
