ABSTRACT Indian Classical dance has been the slowest to adopt technology and although choreography is mainly a domain of creativity, computers can help a lot to ease this especially for rhythmically oriented intricate footwork, Nritta and the complementary movements of other limbs of the body. The main objective of this paper is to identify and classify the various angalakshanas of Bharata Natyam. An angalakshanas in Bharata Natyam refers to classification of elementary body movements like head, eye, neck, hands and leg movements. The research aims at a well organised classification of the angalakshanas along with identification of various constraints on their co- occurrences and sequencing. The constraints may be physical, aesthetic or preferential and would be identified through literature study and machine learning from databases of existing dance repositories and training videos. The work will be useful to enhance the learning/teaching of Bharata Natyam (and other dance forms) and also for animated choreography.

In this paper, we discuss a scheme for visualizing the structure of a document. This is done by identifying coherent multi-paragraph segments in the document, and labeling these segments using representative key phrases. A preliminary evaluation suggests that the proposed scheme does help the user to get an overall idea of the content and structure of a document before actually reading the document. Such a system can be very useful in Information Retrieval applications for quickly identifying relevant documents from a large collection, such as the results of a search engine for a query.

ABSTRACT Cloud Computing is a style of computing over the internet. It has a significant potential impact on every aspect of IT. The elastic nature of cloud makes it suitable for many types of organization. There are lots of benefits in moving towards the cloud. Along with the benefits, it also suffers from various obstacles that act as a barrier in its growth. Various obstacles are identified one of which is security of data and applications. Security concerns in cloud computing is an active area of research and experimentation. Many security solutions are identified and many are evolving. Trust is also identified as one of the solutions for providing security and selecting a particular service. Various trust solution are existing for many collaborative environments. We are focusing on trust based solution for achieving security in cloud computing. A trust framework is proposed that calculates the trust value. A trust value acts as a means for selecting any cloud service, providing a security strength evaluator for service provider and users in a cloud computing environment.

This paper describes project IELIL, which uses constructivist approach and intelligent tutoring system to construct a learning environment for Indian language. Our approach is focused on teaching Marathi language by taking into account the interim results obtained in teaching simple sentences. The Intelligent Tutoring System provides a way to store relevant knowledge, track the learner's progress, give appropriate feedback to

ABSTRACT Students with Learning Disabilities (LD) have diverse difficulties, often hidden or subtle, that affect learning throughout their life. As each LD learner tends to have specific needs that must be addressed; therefore the traditional learning environment cannot cope with the accessible and adaptive constraints of LD. These difficulties can be abridged by providing appropriate learning environment for them. We propose a path forward to build an Assistive Learning Environment (ALE) to enhance the learning experience of LD students in their academic life. The proposed architecture is at its initial stage of the research and may be refined in the future.

ABSTRACT Students classified as having learning disabilities account for the largest group of learners with disabilities. Even though they account for the largest group, the educational technology designer have not been able to figure out how to create content that can adequately cater the various needs of these type of students. The aim of the paper is to provide various content templates in XML and its transformation to accomplish the learning potential of LD students.

E-learning has become very popular in the last few years and more and more people are switching to this mode of education. The primary mode of communication between the faculty and the students, in an e-learning scenario, is email. This mode of communication requires the faculty to answer the same query a number of times and this increases the burden on the faculty. We propose an email response system called Sandesh which addresses this issue. Sandesh uses NLP techniques to identify previous query-responses which match the new query and forwards the same response to the student. It also caters to fixed format queries. Sandesh also allows students to bypass it and directly contact the faculty. Further enhancements to support web and other local resources to generate responses are in progress.

E-mail is the primary mode of communication in most online learning scenarios. The faculty gets overloaded with this mode. So there is a need for a system that can reduce the load of query responding on the faculty. Automated e-mail responding systems have been in existence for a long time. But they are capable of responding only to some selected keywords in the subject line or they send the same reply to all the mails. An example is the vacation program often used when somebody is on vacation. What we need is an intelligent system that can understand the content of an e-mail, and try to find a response for it; if a suitable response is not found the mail may be redirected to concerned person. The query mail and the answer produced should be remembered by the system so that a similar query next time need not go to the faculty, but will be handled by the system itself. In this paper, we describe Sandesh, a system developed based on this approach.
