The Digital Transformation phenomenon always tends to be complicated, ambiguous, challenging, and non-routine managerial tasks for organizations. The success rate of such digital transformation is very low due to rapid changes in technologies. Digital transformation through these technologies demands a fundamental change in organization processes, technology and behavior of the people. This broad change results in different socio-technical issues and challenges. The primary objective of the study is to discover issues, challenges and impact/benefits during digital transformation, investigated by various researchers. For this purpose, a systematic literature review (SLR) as prescribed by Levy and Ellis (2005) helped in identifying the challenges of digital transformation. The articles published from 2008 to 2018 were selected and analyzed. The findings of this research reflect the importance of developing an effective digital transformation strategy in organizations. The proactive st...

The implementation of ERP systems in the organizations is a complex process and a challenging task. Various factors may affect ERP system implementation leading to its success or failure in the organization. The on-going case study attempted to understand how and why different factors impeded successful ERP implementation in a public organization that outsourced the development and implementation of ERP system to a multi-national software company. The case study analysis explains that lack of consideration of certain factors such as top management support, user involvement, vendor support, overlooking of change management aspects, turnover of vendors team member, transfer/posting of top management of beneficiary organization affected ERP systems implementation in the organization and the project run over cost, behind schedule and was unable to meet user requirements. The findings are expected to provide valuable guidelines to the organizations planning to implement ERP systems.

This is the era of knowledge and we are digging out information in the thirst of knowledge. In this growing knowledge society efficient technological tools must be used for the better management of knowledge. The Electronic Learning is the platform which provides the facility of interaction among knowledge holders and seekers. The knowledge conversion process is used to integrate the EL environment with the KM. The integration of EL and KM utilizing the Course Management System is proposed in this paper for the effective utilization of knowledge shared among individuals in online portals. Use of MOODLE as a CMS in EL portal implemented in Allama Iqbal Open University is explained showing the practical practice of KM and EL integration. The practical relationship among KM and EL can be analyzed and used for the effective utilization of knowledge.

Business Process Reengineering being an essential part of ERP implementation always need to be addressed for Implementation process to be successful. The objective of this research is to explore the importance given to these factors by the top management during ERP implementation. In this regard, a case study was conducted in the Telecom Company where an ERP system has recently been implemented in two phases. Interviews of the top management, team leads and executives were conducted to understand the phenomena under research. The case study findings reflect that both factors such as BPR and user participation were not given due importance on the part of top management at the beginning phase of the project resulted in non integration of end to end processes. The two drawbacks were realized by the top management later on and necessary steps were taken by the top management in the second phase of ERP Implementation. This appeared to be very helpful to decrease user resistance, streamli...

In response to the concerns of global data-driven disruption in marketing, this qualitative study explores the issues and challenges, which could unlock the potential of marketing analytics. This might pave the way, not only for academia–practitioner gap mitigation but also for a better human-centric understanding of utilising the technologically disruptive marketing trends, rather making them a foe. The plethora of marketing issues and challenges were distilled into 45 segments, and a detailed tabulation of the significant ones has been depicted for analysis and discussion. Furthermore, the conceptually thick five literary containers were developed, by coupling the constructs as per similarity in their categorical nature and connections. The ‘ethical issues and legality’ was identified as on the top, which provided literary comprehension and managerial implication for marketing analytics conceptualisation in the fourth industrial revolution era.

Purpose The importance of e-government projects has been realized in the developed as well as in the developing countries of the world. The successful implementation of e-government projects is a challenging task. Public sector organizations are facing different sorts of challenges while executing e-government initiatives. The purpose of this paper is to explore issues/challenges related to e-government project implementation. Design/methodology/approach A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted to understand the challenges of the e-government project, as mentioned in past research. The proposed framework encompasses challenges and issues related to four main aspects such as technological, organizational, project management and enabling environment. These aspects need to be further explained for their remedial measures. For this purpose, an exploratory case study was conducted. T...

The major dilemma of marketing professionals is to justify the investment or expenditure on activities related to consumer engagement. Antecedents of consumer engagement are deeply rooted in the unique and specific differences that countries and/or regions present in terms of their social, legal, economic, political, and technological dimensions. Antecedents must be different for consumers from country a, region 1 than country b, region 2. There cannot be a commonality of antecedents for the 196 countries in the world. This research is among the first steps to make it possible. First, this research performed rigorous systematic literature review to consolidate all antecedents of consumer engagement acknowledged in previous quality research papers. Second, a systematic endeavour to generalize the antecedents of consumer engagement that fits all situation and context. The third contribution is the future research agenda of consumer engagement that is yet to be explored. For this purpo...

The banking industry is shifting from old traditional banking systems to virtual banking around the world. As it is moving towards online, the issues related to it are also increasing. Most common issues faced by e-banking around the globe are security, fraud, customer awareness, trust, risk, privacy, phishing attacks and government laws. The objective of this study is to highlight the issues faced by e-banking in developing countries like Pakistan. For this purpose, five national banks were selected. Interviews and discussions with the senior managers were conducted and transcribed. The critical issues identified were mostly related to security, regulatory and reversal of wrong transaction. Lack of awareness and knowledge about technical systems are also found as the major concerns of the senior management of these banks. The findings of this research will help the senior management to successfully develop proactive strategies for e-banking in Pakistan.

Purpose Despite more than two decades of experience regarding the adoption and implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in organizations, ERPs success is questionable. Though ERPs success stories are published in past research studies, the failure rate of ERP systems is relatively high. The purpose of this study was to find issues and challenges and assess the degree of criticality of these issues/challenges faced by organizations during ERP implementation. Design/methodology/approach For doing systematic review/research synthesis systematic literature review (SLR) was carried out considering research studies published within the time period, i.e. 1999-2018. Three major steps such as planning, conducting and reporting were followed to proceed further in this study. This study attempted to accomplish a critical review of 53 studies out of 103 studies identified, which were published in reputable journals to synthesize the existing literature in the ERP domain. The...
