Communication, Social Sciences And Theoretical Diversity
This article presents a research on why the theories in communication sciences are varied
considering the logic of social sciences. By trying to explain science, theory, social sciences
and communication units, a connection has been established between them and this connection
serves as a bridge between the past and the present. The theoretical evaluation of the
relationship between science and society and the division of science into disciplines are open
to discussion. The theories needed to explain social phenomena bring paradigmatic diversity
and the diversity and richness of perspectives are important for the theory. Theoretical diversity
requires a form of understanding and culture is part of it.

Bu makale, geçmişten günümüze kadar hayatımızda çok ciddi bir rol oynayan şiddetin medya
aracılığıyla pazarlanışını ortaya koyarak, filmlerin ve dizilerin bunu bir sanatsal araç haline
dönüştürmesini ele alır. Sanatın içine giren şiddet toplumun sosyo-kültürel ve ekonomik
problemlerinin bir tezahürü olarak yansırken, psikolojik anlamda beyne subliminal mesaj
göndererek komuta zincirini harekete geçirmektedir. İktidarı toplum anlayışının bir
dışavurumu olarak gösterebileceğimiz şiddet kitle medya araçlarından beslenerek iki uçlu bir
diyalektiği güçlendirmektedir ki, bu çoğu zaman bir propagandaya dönüşür. Medyanın en
güçlü araçlarından biri olan filmlerin ve dizilerin topluma kendi gerçekliğini dikte etmesi de
kaçınılmaz olmuştur.

This article aims to give information about director David Lynch and his psychoanalytic
techniques, which are related to subconsciousness of audiences.
It can be observed that David Lynch, who uses metaphors, metonymies and symbols through
moving to semiotics based on semiotic scientific analysis, is intertwined with psychoanalysis
by revealing his uncanniness and therefore benefiting abundantly from Lacan and Freud.
Since his world is quite dark and complex, observing his films and understanding the
language of symbols in addition to analyzing his films are essential. Each symbol has its
equivalent, which not only constitutes the structure of his films, but also leads the audience to
dreams imagination. Each scene of his films is part of a separate film language, and the
pieces combine in order to give a linguistic integrity. David Lynch, who is an auteur, opens
new windows to the visualization of aesthetic and visual codes in the minds of the audiences.
He pays attention to characters’ and objects’ entering frames and frames. Like Mulholland
Drive, Lost Highway and many more, he creates a system within his films, which is used in
analyzing the system, and the aim is animating the mind.
