Esta investigación describe las experiencias de docentes y directivos respecto del trabajo de profesores principiantes en contextos vulnerables en tiempos de pandemia. Así, se busca comprender la realidad compleja de un período crítico que, a diferencia de las usuales de catástrofes o desastres de carácter acotado, se prolonga. Se espera contribuir al desarrollo de conocimiento sobre el trabajo docente y sus condiciones contextuales para permitir su seguimiento en la medida en que se transforma y adapta a los cambios que se susciten en el desarrollo de la pandemia y su abordaje. Desde un paradigma cualitativo-interpretativo,se entrevistó a 14 profesores en su segundo año de ejercicio profesional en colegios públicos de la Región Metropolitana de Santiago y a ocho de sus directivos. Between 2008 and 2010 the impact of four learning modules on the ethics of clinical and educational psychology was studied. In order to measure their effectiveness, before and after each intervention, -a filmed interview was presented related to each module and dramatized by actors- with ethical and technical errors. On the base of the responses given subjected to open and axial codification, correct and erroneous answers were analyzed, grouped by topics which showed the “stand” from which subjects answered. Realizing that this meant an approach to professional ethos, we analyzed part of the data with the aim to explore this ethos in 100 students, from three universities, which are starting their professional training cycle and which possess a different insertion of ethics training, organized in four groups and evaluated before being exposed to the modules.The results suggest that a professional ethos is being built with great convergences despite curricular differences.Entre 2008 y...

This study addresses the interpretations of the human in the discourse of civil industrial engineers in Chile and analyses their relationship with ethics and training. We argue that engineering is a heterogeneous activity that requires the alignment of multiple elements. Among these, assumptions about the human influence both the design of productive processes and the ways in which humans participate in organisations. Considering these aspects, we analysed the interpretative repertoires present in the discourse of civil industrial engineers, generated through individual and group interviews. We describe three ways in which the human is understood in engineering: in the casual, caring, and typification repertoires. After describing them in terms of how they discursively perform versions of the human, we discuss their ethical and practical implications for the engineer training processes. Investigacion cualitativa para reconstruir el ethos profesional de la ingenieria civil industrial en Chile desde la subjetividad de sus actores. Se indago en la experiencia profesional y la construccion de significados respecto de la etica e interculturalidad en su profesion, en un grupo de ingenieros civiles industriales y estudiantes que hubieran realizado su ultima practica profesional. Todos los participantes habian estudiado o aun estudiaban en universidades estatales chilenas. La indagacion se efectuo mediante entrevistas individuales y grupales a 29 individuos, de las que devengaron 19 textos, analizados mediante la metodologia de la Teoria Fundamentada (Grounded Theory). Los resultados permiten aventurar que el ethos de la Ingenieria Civil Industrial en Chile contiene como elemento nuclear la eficiencia y, por ende, la calidad del trabajo en si misma. Gifts are a regular practice within the relationships established by business world stakeholders with the professionals that may be instrumental in promoting their sales. Consequently, gifts are a potential source of conflicts of interest. This article is the result of a bibliographic study of papers addressing gifts, published in scientific journals which was carried out with the aim of identifying what kinds of professions address the issue and in what ways, in order to reach conclusions that may enhance reflection and contribute to professional training. The research was carried out using the SciELO, PsychNet, IEEE, and Proquest databases and yielded 59 publications that span the period between 1998 and 2015. Results show a remarkable concentration in health-related professions, mainly in their relationships with the pharmaceutical industry. This study seeks the presence of contents related to gender and ethics in the writings of 12 pioneers in psychology, both from United States and Chile: William James, Stanley Hall, James Baldwin, Mary Calkins, Margaret Washburn, Helen Thompson, Hernán Larraín, Salvador Cifuentes, Sergio Yulis, Lola Hoffmann, Héliettè Saint Jean, and Leyla Holmberg. We confirmed our central hypothesis, that a prevalence of an "ethics of justice" for male writers and an "ethics of care" for female writers of the United States was found. The same was not observed in Chilean writers. Characteristics of the development of the discipline and sociohistorial context of each country, more than gender of the author, seem to influence the way the selected authors approached the studied dimensions.
