This study was carried out between 2017-2019 to determine the mite species found in the tea gardens of Rize province (Türkiye). During the study, surveys in 9 districts (Ardeşen, Çayeli, Derepazarı, Fındıklı, Güneysu, İyidere, Kalkandere, Centre and Pazar) were carried out between May and September with the random sampling method, corresponding to the tea plant's 1st, 2nd and 3rd shoot period. Studies were conducted in 73 tea gardens in 9 districts in the first shoot period, 107 tea gardens in the 2nd shoot period and in 97 tea gardens in the 3rd shoot period and plant samples were taken. At the end of the study, Polyphagotarsonemus latus (Banks) (Acari: Tarsonemidae) was the most common and highest number detected species with 49.7%. Other mites identified are Calacarus carinatus (Green) (Prostigmata: Eriophyidae) with 24.3%, Brevipalpus phoenicis (Geijskes) (Prostigmata: Tenuipalpidae) with 19.9%, Tydeus californicus (Banks) (Prostigmata: Tydeidae) with 17.1%, Neoseiulus calif...

This study is based upon material of subfamily Phylinae from family Miridae collected from different localities of Turkey between 1978 and 2014, mostly 2006 - 2014. In this study, 32 species from 20 genera of Phylinae species wer e determined . Among them, Chlamydatus ( Euattus ) pullus (Reuter 1870), Megalocoleus molliculus (Fall e n 1807), Oncotylus ( Oncotylus ) punctipes Reuter 1875, Oncotylus ( Oncotylus ) viridiflavus (Goeze 1778), Opisthotaenia ( Opisthotaenia ) fulvipes Reuter 1901, Plagiognathus ( Plagiognathus ) bipunctatus Reuter 1883 and Plagiognathus chrysanthemi (Wolff 1804) have been found the most abundant and widespread species. In addition, new localities are added for some species previously reported for Turkey.

Many insect families contain one or more predatory species. In some of these families, all species are predators. Many predators are important as biological control agents against crop pest insects in agricultural pest management. Among them are true bugs (Hemiptera) with about dozen families of predators that they prey on insects and other small invertebrates. This study is based upon material of predatory Heteroptera collected from different localities of Turkey between 1967 and 2015. In this study, predatory Heteroptera and their potential prey species are investigated and 19 species of true bugs from the families Anthocoridae, Lygaeidae and Miridae, feeding on aphids are revealed in Turkey. In addition, information on their sampling localites is given.

Essential oils obtained from nine different plant species (Achillea coarctata Poir., Achillea gypsicola Hub.-Mor., Artemisia dracunculus L., Artemisia vulgaris L., Helichrysum plicatum Dc., Tanacetum agrophyllum (L.), Taraxacum officinale (L.) (Asteraceae), Hypericum scabrum L. and Hypericum perforatum L. (Clusiaceae)) were tested against adults of Sitophilus granarius (L.) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae). Results clarified that essential oils of A. coarctata, A. gypsicola, T. agrophyllum, H. scabrum and H. perforatum had highest insecticidal effects on S. granarius adults, compared with the control. Mortality rate of S. granarius adults increased significantly (p<0.01), as the dosage level and/or exposure time increased. Treatments with the essential oils of A. coarctata, A. gypsicola, A. dracunculus, T. agrophyllum, H. scabrum and H. perforatum showed high levels of mortalities in S. granarius adults, when they were applied at the higher tested concentrations (10 & 20 µl) at all po...

This study is based on material of the genus Orthops Fieber 1858 collected from different localities in Turkey between 1983 and 2014, mostly 2006-2014. In the genus Orthops Fieber, 1858, six species are known from Turkey, including Orthops ( Montanorthops ) forelii Fieber, 1858, O. ( M. ) montanus (Schilling, 1838), O. ( Orthops ) basalis (A. Costa, 1853), Orthops ( O. ) campestris (Linnaeus, 1758), O. ( O. ) frenatus Horvath, 1894 and O. ( O. ) kalmii (Linnaeus, 1758). Orthops ( Orthops ) frenatus Horvath, 1894, is a new record for Turkish fauna. In this paper, diagnoses, distribution data and illustrated keys to the genera and species are provided. In addition, new localities are added for some species previously reported for Turkey.
