Current developments have contributed to organisations paying increasing attention to protecting resources, employee safety, and applying quality products and services. There is a need for increasing the application of standards that define the way of managing quality, safety at work, risk, and many others. One such organisation is the Serbian Army, a complex centralised system that requires integrating these standards, and often stricter, in all fields of its activities. The current situation in the world, and therefore in Serbia, is sufficient motivation for the project provided by this paper. This project aims to show the integration of risk management systems and occupational safety systems, through the level of protection and exposure of members of the army to the virus infection COVID-19 during the implementation of emergency tasks, by defining risks and proposing additional measures to reduce the level of risk and increase the protection of military personnel.

This research develops a novel methodology for municipal waste management in Serbia, based on system dynamics modelling. The methodology shows how a country and relevant institutions should address complexities in the waste management sector. Waste management is a critical issue globally, which heavily impacts the economic development of a country, including the general quality of life within a society. The designed simulation generates different scenarios of the Serbian municipal waste system for reaching the 2035 recycling rate targets. Methodologies such as the theory of constraints, fragility analysis, and systems dynamics were implemented in the model. The scenarios and fragility modelling were conducted with the system dynamics modelling methodology in the Ventity simulation environment. Business process improvement is essential for success of enterprises according to the quality philosophy and ISO 9000:2008. On the way to achieving this goal, a very successful approach is the employment of quality improvement projects. This chapter proposes a model for evaluation of projects for business process quality improvement. The performances of the treated type of projects are analyzed in the scope of standard ISO 215000:2015 and the results of good practice. An arranged pair (relative importance, value) is associated to each performance. The relative importance of project performances is assessed on the basis of experts’ judgments from the manufacturing industry and they are introduced by linguistic expressions which are close to human thinking. The values of project performances are determined by measurement or they are based on assessment by a project management team. Modeling of linguistic expressions is performed by fuzzy sets theory. The relative importance of each pair of business processes and project performances is determined on the level of the treated specimen of enterprises. The total score of the project is determined by using fuzzy logic . The model for evaluation of projects for business process quality improvement is verified through a case study example.

The natural and cultural heritage of the Lake Skadar/Shkodra basin require the implementation of an efficient management system at the level of the whole lake for the purpose of its continuous protection and the valorization of this unique ecosystem. In this study, we have suggested that there is no difference between the Lake Shkoder Basin Management Strategy (LSBMS) and the Integrated Lake Basin Management (ILBM) which is widely accepted today as a guideline for the achieving of the sustainable management of lake basins. In this chapter, we have reviewed the relevant national and international documents about Lake Skadar such as the Strategic Action Plan (SAP) for Lake Skadar/Shkodra to analyze the current management plans of the lake and basin according to the six governance pillars of ILBM (institutions, policies, participation, technology, information, and finance).

The primary purpose of this paper is to present a system intended for student education based on a microcontroller platform and a cloud system where data will be stored. Obtained research results will be based on the application of The NodeMcu platform for data collection with sensor systems. MatLab, ThingSpeak cloud system, and the Virtuino platform will be used for data presentation. Quantitative data are applied to determine conditions for agriculture system performance management. By analyzing the literature and the current situation in monitoring and managing in the agriculture and ecology field, it can be concluded that there are no special education courses regarding these issues. Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the vulnerability of projects implemented in enterprises. The paper focuses on the issue of vulnerability assessment in the planning stages of a project, before its realization. Design/methodology/approach In this paper, the realization of the project has been analyzed through the phases of delivery, and the fuzzy approach has been deployed for mathematical modeling of uncertainties. An appropriate expert and management team has assessed the variables of the project’s vulnerability by using linguistic expressions, as this way of assessment is close to the human way of thinking. ABSTRACT There are many factors that can make an organization and its business unsafe and endanger its sustainable development. Exposure of an organization to existing risks may vary and it can be studied from different perspectives, but undoubtedly increased vulnerability of an organization can lead to disaster. This paper investigates the general vulnerability of an organization and proposes a model for its assessment. The process approach has been employed to define the model of an organization, as well as the fuzzy approach for mathematical modeling of uncertainties. An assessed value of organization vulnerability is obtained by using linguistic expressions which are close to human thinking. The mathematical model of organization vulnerability is solved through fuzzy sets with input data defined by a management team. The model for vulnerability assessment is verified through an illustrative example. The obtained results represent an input for future research which should include a good benchmark base for the tested organizations and their continuous improvement.

We presented a novel fuzzy multicriteria decision making approach to evaluate and rank organizational resilience factors with respect to user preference orders. Due to vagueness of the decision data, the precise numerical data are inadequate for real-life business situations. Human judgements can be expressed by linguistic expressions which are modeled by fuzzy sets. The complexity of the considered problem calls for analytic methods rather than intuitive decisions. ABSTRACT In order to establish adequate tools for the modern business environment, and with a need for new mechanisms with the goal of overcoming crisis and emerging disorder, the concept of organizational resilience has emerged. A high level of organizational resilience represents one of an organization's target values during a normal period of operation. In a period of crisis, the presence of resilience is even more needed; this is emphasized in the process industry because in these conditions when one process fails it may cause significant problems in other processes. The contribution of this paper is shown through a fuzzy mathematical model for assessment of organizational resilience potential in SMEs of the process industry. The model is verified through an illustrative example where obtained data suggest measures which should enhance business strategy and improve organizational resilience factors. This study forms the basis for a survey that may include a significant number of organizations from one region and future improvement based on benchmark and knowledge sharing.
