Basiretçi Ali tarafından 1870 yılında kurulan Basiret Gazetesi, beşinci yılını tamamlarken gerek ülke içi gerekse ülke dışındaki haberlere büyük ölçüde yer vermeye çalışmıştır. Özellikle 1875 yılı Hersek İsyanı ve Moratoryum meselesi gibi devrin pek çok önemli olaylarıyla ilgili haberler gazetede yer almıştır. Bununla birlikte, şehirlerden muhabirler aracılığıyla ve bazı haber ajanslarından alınan telgraflar ve mektuplarla da halka haberler aktarılmıştır. Halka haber verme amacıyla hareket etmiş olan Basiret Gazetesi, diğer taraftan dikkate değer yorum ve fikir yazılarıyla da kamuoyunu etkilemeyi amaçlamıştır. Bu noktada, millete hitap eden bir millet gazetesi olma çabası içerisinde olduğunu anlayabiliyoruz. Bu çalışma ile 1875 yılına dair, hem Osmanlı Devleti’nde hem de dünyada meydana gelen pek çok siyasi, sosyal ve ekonomik olaylarla ilgili değişimler ve gelişimler ortaya koyulmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla, 1875 yılı Basiret Gazetesinde yayımlanan toplam 285 (1414-1699) nüsha taranmıştır.
Basiret Newspaper which was founded in 1870 by Basiretçi Ali was trying to inform about domestic and international news to Ottoman society. Especially, news about the many important events of 1875 such as the Hersek Revolt and the Moratorium issue were included in the newspaper. In addition to this, news, were transferred to the public by reporters via telegrams and letters obtained from some news agencies. Thus, the public was informed with accurate news. As well as, the goal of informing to public with the news, Basiret Newspaper influenced public opinion with important ideas and comments writings. At this point, we can understand that Basiret Newspaper had ambition to be national newspaper and had aim to serve the nation. With this study, the changes and developments related to many political, social and economic events that took place both in the Ottoman State and in the world in 1875 have been tried to be revealed. With this aim, 285 copies (1414-1699) that were published in Basiret Newspaper was screened.

Türk Yurdu dergisi, II. Meşrutiyet döneminde ön plana çıkan fikir akımları arasında yer alan Türkçülük akımının yayın organıdır. Derginin kurucuları, Türkçülük düşüncesinin önemli figürleri arasında bulunan Mehmet Emin Yurdakul ve Yusuf Akçura gibi isimlerdir. Bu isimlerden sonra 1917’den 1931 yılına kadar Celâl Sahir Bey, Nihat Bey, Cemil Behçet Bey, Enver Bey, Ferit Celal ve İzzet Ulvi derginin idareciliklerini üstlenmişlerdir. 1918-1924 yılları arasında İstanbul’da yayınlanmış olan dergi, 1924’ten itibaren yayın hayatına Ankara’da devam etmiştir. Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’ndaki Türk unsurunun haklarını korumak, Türk Milliyetçiliğini yaymak ve Türk dünyasının her yerinden acı tatlı olayları haber vererek Türk milletinin çıkarlarını korumayı amaç edinen dergi, 1911 yılında yayın hayatına başlamıştır. 1918 yılında ülkenin içinde bulunduğu şartlar yüzünden kapansa da yayın hayatı 1924 yılından 1931’e kadar sürmüştür. 1931 yılından itibaren dönem dönem neşriyatına ara verilse de günümüze kadar devam eden uzun soluklu bir dergi olabilmeyi başarmıştır. Çalışmanın kapsamında, 1911’den 1931’deki kapanışına kadar olan dönemde yayınlanan sayılara konu olan Dış Türkler ile ilgili makaleler ve haberlerin bibliyografik dizini bulunmaktadır. Bu noktada toplamda 26 ciltte yer alan 233 sayı taranmış, 68 makale ve 44 haber dizinlenmiştir.
Türk Yurdu magazine is the publication organ of the Turkism movement, which is one of the prominent currents of thought during the Second Constitutional Period. The founders of the journal are Mehmet Emin Yurdakul and Yusuf Akçura, who are among the important figures of Turkism thought. After these names, Celâl Sahir Bey, Nihat Bey, Cemil Behçet Bey, Enver Bey, Ferit Celal and İzzet Ulvi undertook the management of the magazine from 1917 to 1931. The journal, which was published in Istanbul between 1918 and 1924, continued its publication life in Ankara since 1924. The journal, which aims to protect the rights of the Turkish element in the Ottoman Empire, to spread Turkish Nationalism and to protect the interests of the Turkish nation by reporting bittersweet events from all over the Turkic world, started its publication life in 1911. Although it closed in 1918 due to the conditions of the country, its publication life lasted from 1924 to 1931. Although its publication was interrupted from time to time since 1931, it has managed to become a long-term journal that continues to this day. Within the scope of the study, there is a bibliographic index of articles and news about Turks outside Turkey that were the subject of the issues published in the period from 1911 to its closure in 1931. 1877-78 Osmanlı-Rus Harbinden sonra yaşanan siyasi gelişmeler, Balkanlar özelinde, Osmanlı Devleti’ni oldukça zor duruma düşürmüştür. Özellikle Berlin Antlaşmasının bazı maddeleri Anadolu'dan Ermenileri, Balkanlar'da ise milliyetçi Bulgarları harekete geçirmişti. 1903 yılında Makedonya’da yaşayan Bulgarlar, İlinden dedikleri isyanlarıyla kamuoyu oluşturmayı hedeflerken, bu isyanı desteklemek amacıyla Kırkkilise (Kırklareli)'de de bir isyan çıkartılmak istendiğini kayıtlardan anlayabiliyoruz. Nitekim, Vize Kaymakamı Ahmet Galip Bey’in Rumeli Müfettişliğine gönderdiği telgraf metinlerinde Bulgarların Kırkkilise ve Vize taraflarında gerçekleştirdikleri eşkıyalık hareketlerini (adam kaçırma/öldürme, gasp, yağma vs.) sıklıkla görüyoruz. Bulgarların gerçekleştirdikleri bu hareketlerin, bölgedeki Rum ve Türk nüfusunu korkutarak başka yerlere göç ettirilmesi ve Büyük Bulgaristan'a yeni topraklar katmak amacını taşıdığını açıkça anlayabiliyoruz.
