The recent data explosion has spawned an incredible increase in innovation. While many new fields are emerging, many old fields have been redefined.  The internet is the catalyst for these changes. This massive network holds the data that some of these new fields are focused on leveraging. Much of this data is organized and retrieved through methods that focus on definitions and context.  However, these methods leave out one of the most important aspects of the creators of this data: emotion. The emotional subjectivity of human beings drives the choices we make. A concept that involves the use of this digital data increase and the emotions of the users and creators of the data is the area of sentiment analysis.  This paper will cover the general concepts behind sentiment analysis and the uses of the concept in current society. It will also focus on areas involving the benefits of sentiment analysis for corporations and consumers.

Collaborative neuroimaging research is often hindered by technological, policy, administrative, and methodological barriers, despite the abundance of available data. COINSTAC is a platform that successfully tackles these challenges through federated analysis, allowing researchers to analyze datasets without publicly sharing their data. This paper presents a significant enhancement to the COINSTAC platform: COINSTAC Vaults (CVs). CVs are designed to further reduce barriers by hosting standardized, persistent, and highly-available datasets, while seamlessly integrating with COINSTAC's federated analysis capabilities. CVs offer a user-friendly interface for self-service analysis, streamlining collaboration and eliminating the need for manual coordination with data owners. An analysis is presented of palatalization from /s/ to [ʃ] at word boundaries in UK English. Previous work has considered the effect of lexical frequency (LF) on this phenomenon, but without combining acoustics and spontaneous speech in one study, which is undertaken using data gathered from the Audio BNC (http://www.phon.ox.ac.uk/AudioBNC). 5,197 word pairs are analyzed across five phonological contexts, comparing the acoustics of test tokens subject to palatalization (e.g. /s/ in miss you), to control tokens containing non-alternating [s] (miss it) or [ʃ] (mission, wish it, wish you). Word and segment boundaries were obtained via forced alignment, but hand-checked. The spectral moments and duration of each fricative were measured; following vowel duration and formant values were also extracted. LF was calculated using the Audio BNC. Results show that the spectral center of gravity (CoG) of /s/ before /j/ (miss you) is intermediate (p<0.01) between those of [s] and [ʃ]. Furthermore, CoG of test tokens correlates negatively with LF, indicating increased palatalization in high-frequency contexts. A supervised clustering analysis shows that /s/ before /j/ is distinct from both [s, ʃ]. This supports the view of palatalization as gestural overlap, which increases with LF in casual or fast speech.

ABSTRACT Since the problem&amp;#39;s formulation by Kautz in 1958 as an error detection tool, diverse applications for long snakes and coils have been found. These include coding theory, electrical engineering, and genetics. Over the years, the problem has been explored by many researchers in different fields using varied approaches, and has taken on additional meaning. The problem has become a benchmark for evaluating search techniques in combinatorially expansive search spaces (NP-complete Optimizations). We present an effective process for searching for long achordal open paths (snakes) and achordal closed paths (coils) in n-dimensional hypercube graphs. Stochastic Beam Search provides the overall structure for the search while graph theory based techniques are used in the computation of a generational fitness value. This novel fitness value is used in guiding the search. We show that our approach is likely to work in all dimensions of the SIB problem and we present new lower bounds for a snake in dimension 11 and coils in dimensions 10, 11, and 12. The best known solutions of the unsolved dimensions of this problem have improved over the years and we are proud to make a contribution to this problem as well as the continued progress in combinatorial search techniques.

We present eleven new lower bounds for the Snake-in-the-Box problem for snakes in dimensions 11, 12, and 13; coils in dimensions 10, 11, and 12; and symmetric coils in dimensions 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13. The best known solutions of the unsolved dimensions of this problem have improved over the years and we are proud to make a contribution to this problem as well as the continued progress in combinatorial search techniques.

“Clothes make the man,” said Mark Twain. This article presents a survey of the literature on Artificial Intelligence applications to clothing fashion. An AI-based stylist model is proposed based on fundamental fashion theory and the early work of AI in fashion. This study examines three essential components of a complete styling task as well as previously launched applications and earlier research work. Additionally, the implementation and performance of Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms, Support Vector Machines and other AI methods used in the fashion domain are discussed in detail. This article explores the focus of previous studies and provides a general overview of the usage of AI techniques in the fashion domain.

In this study, we propose an AI based system called “Style-Me” as our answer to the question “Can an AI machine be a fashion stylist?” Style-Me is a machine learning application that recommends fashion looks. More specifically, Style-Me learns user preferences through the use of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). The system scores user’s customized style looks based on fashion trends and users’ personal style history. Although much remains to be done, our implementation shows that an AI machine can be a fashion stylist.

We demonstrate the use of different techniques of simulation to generate realistic representations
of holographic projection of binary phase SLMs. Using an appropriate representation of the hologram
at the simulation allows the visualization and inspection of the projected image. In contrast with
typical simulations where pixels are represented as the minimal unit in a 2D matrix, we propose

Hybrid carbon nanotube (CNT) and liquid crystal (LC) devices provide the ability to electrically control the far-field diffraction pattern and device efficiency. By varying the electric field voltage levels it is possible to cause the nanotubes to affect the liquid crystal predominantly (low voltage), the indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes predominantly (high voltage), or varying combinations in between. This allows the creation of a mutli-dimensional diffraction grating that can be useful for integral imaging, 3D microscopy, tunable gratings, and optical switching.
