Dalam satu dekade lebih kita menyaksikan kebangkitan global agama-agama, baik dalam pengertian spiritual, ekonomik, maupun ideologi dan politik. Hal ini tidak dapat dilepaskan dari akses projek modernitas yang aksesif di segala bidang yang telah membawa dampak peminggiran agama dari ruang publik. Sains dan teknologi serta Ilmu-lmu sosial positivistik telah mencoba menghilangkan nilai, termasuk nilai berbasis agama, dari ilmu pengetahuan. Ilmu menurut mereka bebas nilai. Namun dampak dari itu adalah alienasi manusia dari dunia real mereka. Mereka berubah menjadi mesin-mesin kapitalisme yang seakan-akan berjalan tanpa ruh. Hal ini yang memunculkan beberapa respons yang juga aksessif: penolakan ekstrem terhadap modernitas dengan segala projek nalar pencerahan, sekularisme, kapitalisme, dan anti-nilainya. Di Barat sendiri muncul gerakan Postmodernisme dalam seni dan ilmu pengetahuan, gerakan spiritual New Age, dan gerakan-gerakan neo-konservatif dan ekstra-kanan. Secara umum lalu mencul pusat-pusat spiritual, bisnis-bisnis berbasis agama, dan juga gerakan-gerakan ideologis dan politis agama-agama. Ini terjadi di berbagai belahan dunia dan di hampir semua agama, baik Abrahamik maupun non-Abrahamik. Terkait dengan gerakan-gerakan ideologis-politis, ini diikuti oleh sejumlah tindak kekerasan atas nama agama. Pada aras internasional kita disuguhi dengan berbagai konflik antaragama dan tindakan terorisme atas nama agama—kendati pun dengan sejumlah penyangkalan. Sejumlah konflik agama juga muncul seperti antara Hindu dan Muslim di India, Buddha dan Muslim di Burma, Katolik dan Muslim di Filipina, Muslim dan Kristen di Maluku dan Poso, Indonesia. Isu-isu terorisme kegamaan, yang merupakan anak sah dari modernitas, menyeruak ke permukaan pada awal abad ke-21 ini, terutama setelah serangan terhadap menara WTC di Woshington DC pada 11 September 2001. Ini kemudian diikuti dengan serangan Amerika ke Afghanistan dengan alasan mencari Osama ben Laden dengan semangat—sebagaimana dikatakan presiden George Bush Jr— ”crusade” (perang salib), walau kemudian dia mengoreksinya. Tahun berikutnya muncul serangan bom Bali I di Indonesia, dan juga bom Bali II, yang memakan korban baik orang Indonesia maupun asing, Muslim maupun non-Muslim. Setelah itu, muncul berbagai aksi teror lanjutan di tanah air, yang di antaranya dimotori oleh teroris negeri jiran, Nurdin M. Top, dan sebagiannya merupakan respons terhadap aksi represi dari kepolisian dan Densus 88. Kita pun mengenal gerakangerakan paramiliter seperti Laskar Jihad, Laskar Mujahidin dan Laskar Kristus.

This article analyzes the model of religious moderation in Kalipasir, Tangerang City. In it there are indigenous peoples who are dominated by the Betawi and Sundanese. On the other hand, there are also ethnic Chinese who have lived in the area for a long time. This ethnic diversity also accompanies religious diversity, especially between indigenous Muslims and non-Muslim Chinese. The purpose of this study is to analyze the construction of religious moderation in Kalipasir. With a social construction approach, this study looks at the concept of religious moderation in the practice of the Kalipasir community. This is field research with data collection using a qualitative model. After the data is collected, then it is analyzed using construction theory. The results of the study show that maintaining religious moderation requires an open minded attitude and shared awareness of diversity and all religions teach peace and harmony.

This research discusses practices of the magical culture in pesantren in Banten. The research model used in this study is qualitative-descriptive. Historical studies are used to present a narrative and chronological presentation of the storyline of a discussion. Pesantren in Banten has distinct characteristics compared to other pesantren in Indonesia. Most people believe that Banten is a Province in Indonesia that is famous for its ulama, kyai, santri, and pesantren. The use of cadar becomes a controversial discussion in Indonesia. However, the majority of scholars consider the cadar is not an obligation in religion. Bearing in mind, there are differences in the limits of women's genitalia or awrat. It shows in the Quranic interpretation of literature in Indonesia that cadar's views lie in the different scholars in interpreting and determining the limits of women's genitalia. This paper uses a comparative method to compare the interpretations of Hasbi Ash-Shiddieqy and Quraish Shihab in understanding verses about the cadar and the limits of women's Awrat (genitalia) in both interpretations. Many disasters facing Indonesia is not only natural events. However, the environmental damage caused by excessive exploitation of natural resources. One of them, illegal logging in some parts of Indonesia. It was not accompanied by reforestation, so trees as a buffer ecosystem balance becomes increasingly depleted. The action was so counter to those taught theological traditions. Prophet gave moral education with an invitation to perform planting trees. When a Muslim plant trees or plants, then used by animals or humans, then it becomes a charity for the plant. In this context, the Prophet invited to preserving the environment by planting trees. Thus, a comprehensive understanding is needed to find the ideal moral. It can be recommended to the government or environmental organizations. Haid (menstruasi) siklus biologis-kodrati yang dialami perempuan dalam kelangsungan kesehatan reproduksi perempuan. Namun, dari proses biologis itu melahirkan banyak mitos yang menimbulkan kerugian terhadap perempuan, sehingga terdapat asumsi yang tumpang tindih terkait haid (menstruasi). Mitos-mitos itu menjadi legitimasi budaya patriakhi, ditambah dengan adanya distorsi pemahaman terhadap beberapa teks agama yang menerangkan tentang haid. Dengan demikian, karya ilmiah ini hendak mengkaji hadis-hadis haid, agar memperoleh pemahakan objektifkontekstual. Penelitian ini diarahkan pada kajian ma`an al-hadis\. Adapun rumusan masalah yang akan diajukan dalam penelitian ini ada dua. Pertama, bagaimana pemaknaan hadis-hadis haid (menstruasi)? Kedua, bagaimana relevansi hadis-hadis haid itu problem perempuan yang berkadilan gender. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-analitik-kritis, dan menggunakan pendekatan historis-hermeneutis yang sensitif gender. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mendokumentasikan berbagai sumber terkait haid, baik sumber primer maupun sekunder. Adapun langkah operasionalnya menggunakan teori yang ditawarkan Nurun Najwah. Langkah itu secara garis besar terdiri atas dua tahapan, yakni analisis historis dan analisis hermeneutis. Ajaran Islam tidak menganut faham menstrual taboo, sebaliknya berupaya mengikis tradisi dan mitos masyarakat sebelumnya yang memberikan beban berat terhadap perempuan. Pertama, Haid merupakan kodrat-biologis yang diberikan Tuhan kepada perempuan. Sebagaimana terdapat dalam hadis riwayat al-Bukhari nomor 285 Kitab al-Haid, bab Kaifa Kana bad’u al-haid. Kedua, Nabi saw menghapus sekat-sekat ketabuan dan mitos yang melingkupi perempuan yang haid. Riwayat yang menerangkan hal itu adalah hadis nomor 286 yang diriwayatkan Imam al-Bukhari dalam Sahih-nya Kitab al-Haid, Bab Gasl al-Ha’id Ra’sa Zaujiha wa Tarjilihi. Ketiga, Walaupun agama melarang untuk melaksanakan beberapa ibadah tertentu bagi perempuan haid, tetapi pelarangan itu bukan dimaksudkan untuk menunjukkan bahwa perempuan itu kotor. Salah satunya terekam dalam hadis nomor 293 dalam Sahih al-Bukhari , Kitab al-Haid, Bab Tark al- Ha’id as-Sauma.

This paper will review the development of the shari'ah of the Prophet time until the codification in Islam. Lately, the word syari'ah became favourite among the Muslims. Therefor, this library research explores the shari'ah developmental problems. The approach used is the historical approach. At least there are some shifts that can be found in the meaning of shari'ah since Rasulullah period until the codification of Islamic law. Islamic community organizations as well as institutions have not provided a significant change in gender issues. Thus, this article will try to reconstruct the gender issues on women and the Islamic community organizations, especially related to the role and rights of women in the organization.

This paper examines Khaled M. Abou El-Fadl’s hermeneutics in his work entitled Speaking God’s Name: Authority and Women. This figure is interesting to study because his theory stems from his own experience. At first he was an admirer salafi, but later criticizes it. This paper focuses on his thoughts about religious meaning texts and applies descriptive-analytical method. This study shows that El-Fadl’s hermeneutics is influenced by western philosopher, such as Gadamer and Gracia. He formulated a set of condition upon which one has to ground his/her interpretation of religious texts.

Dalam tradisi Sunni, terutama dalam imam empat mazhab dalam fiqh Sunni terdapat perbedaan dalam hal jumlah pengulangan dalam setiap lafal azan. Adapun dalam tradisi Syiah juga demikian terkait jumlah pengulangan lafal dalam azan. Artikel ini akan membahas perbedaan lafal azan di kalangan para ulama Sunni dan ulama Syiah maupun dikalangan intern kedua. Untuk itu pertanyaan yang diajukan dalam artikel ini adalah bagaimana beberapa ulama menyikapi perbedaan itu? Mengapa bisa terjadi perbedaan dalam pelafalan azan di antara keduanya? Kendati demikian, titik tekan makalah ini bukanlah mencari mana yang benar dan yang salah, melainkan pemaknaan di antara keduanya.

This article discusses land ownership from the perspective of tradition, especially the tradition of the revival of the dead earth (Iḥya ‘al-Mawāt). This relates to the land conflicts that often occur, so it requires a religious perspective in land ownership. Therefore, the issue raised is how the ownership of land in the Hadith? This paper focuses on the thoughts on the meaning and religious texts. To unload thinking Khaled used descriptive-analytical method. Apparently, hermeneutics offered Khaled influenced by several prominent Western hermeneutics, especially Gadamer and Gracia. This article will discuss the verses of the Qur'an, specifically appeared in the Republika Newspaper Rubric of “Hikmah”. The
articles include only eight randomly selected ones in March 2014. The analysis deals with what kind of values discussed in the media related to al-Qur'an. The results showed that though there were attempts to inform the teachings or the values contained in the religion through the media, but it is still within a narrow range. The analysis shows that indeed the content of “Hikmah” rubric is more oriented on the religious motivations than philosophical one

The disaster is not only a mere natural occurrence, but also due to the lack of awareness and understanding of one's environmental problems. This paper will review the ecological values contained in the Qur'an. In fact, the Qur'an has given a stern warning of not doing mischief on earth. In this regard, within the certain limits, the query is how religion (Islam) providing ecological value to the whole community through the Koran? Applying semantic-hermeneutical approach, the research results the concept that has been introduced by the Qur'an with various forms and models of word. With some verses that describe the ecological problems, the formulation can be used as 'green religion', namely religion that requires people to practice Islam stressing the integral relationship between faith and the environment (all natural). Moral-ethical action is not only related to human relations, but also with nature.
