Think Tanks in Uganda are willing to perfect their aims and objectives, however, the environment in which they do operate doesn't allow that to happen. The country is run on a few decisions taken by a few minority people in the government. If at all we are to talk of development, then the Think Tanks have to be given room to operate in the country's political, social and economic spheres.

Current science and technology is a modern tool to extend influence and hegemony of the so-called developed countries upon the developing countries. Th is is a hot debate and therefore, questions should go beyond the mere benefits presented by science and technology to ask questions like, who appropriates these benefits? And for what purpose? This paper attempts to answer this question with a few recommendation on what should be done to appropriate the new age of science and technology because retreating is not the solution and giving up is neither the best solution.

Feminist economist find their central question within the traditional economic thought, accusing it of ignoring the traditional unpaid yet productive work engaged in by women say reproductive and care works. Meanwhile, through time their enquiry has been enlarge to incorporate ecological and environmental resources issues as well. Lourdes Beneria and Marilyn Waring works, throw a probable critique towards such economic methodologies like Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and other national accounting measures that have fallen sort of the vice. The claim is that, GDP not only leaves out the contributions of unpaid care activities and services of the environment to human well-being, but also disregards the nature of the growth generated, the composition of goods produced, and the depletion of resources in the course of growth, hence has no sense of sustainability, welfare, and human development values of that regards development as improvement in qualitative aspects of human person. Feminist economists contend that actually the unpaid work in real sense carries a price, not in monetary value but in terms of energy and time, thus it's so unfortunate that, this unpaid work goes unrecognised when it comes to computation of the national economy, yet it's on this work that the formal paid work gets counted. In other words, without it, the so-called "formal" paid work stands higher chances of failure. The unpaid work that women traditionally do includes activities such as childcare, fetching fuel wood and water, and preparing food. Surprisingly, all this work has to be done each day if the formal economy is to continue running. In addition, women also have a massive and once again uncounted role in unpaid "productive" work especially in the field of Agriculture, whereby they have to cultivate the food for their families to eat. Shockingly, none of these activities show up in "conventional economic analyses" and this is something we should thus be worried of as it is unsustainable for our present and future economies to exist in such conditions. It can be seen clearly that, it's not only the value of the work, but the workers (women) themselves, are nowhere to be seen in this dilemma. There is always the invisible downsizing of women's 1

This is a simple but  well thought review of the Works of Van Der Veen. Van tries to offer an explanation of why African continent has failed to develop in the eyes of other continents. However, i challenge his view point with an historical framework which himself lacks in his attempt of examining the causes of the current situation of the African continent. I conclude with a basic argument that, a disease is eating up the academia world and that is none other the deliberate leaving out of the true information especially on the issue of the so called "developed" and "underdeveloped" countries. Fair judgement and analysis should be availed into the public and the culprits should not hide or run away from their sins.
