This research paper is divided in three parts, along it I analyse the relations between European Union and the Islamic Republic of Iran. I will start with a brief historical background about their relations from the establishment of the Islamic Republic to the 2002 nuclear crisis. I will explain which role had assumed the European Union during the negotiations for the nuclear agreement, and how Iran answered to its request. The first part will be very important because it can help to understand and prefigure which will be their next step, whether reconciliation or hostility.
The nuclear crisis closed a door and broke a bridge that both the actors were trying to build up, not only in the energetic sector, but now that the nuclear issues appear to be solved probably there would be a new change for a closer cooperation. Concerning my personal point of view, I define in the last part the actual and maybe the future relations between them, and whether a cooperation is possible or not.
