The capability of big data technology in online data management has made virtual learning a highly popular trend nowadays. However, vast information density makes young users lose focus in mastering one particular learning unit. This situation opens up opportunities for researchers to re-evaluate music instrument learning methods. This study aims to develop a framework for bite-sized learning of basic jazz guitar reharmonization techniques. The research methodology involves a mixed-methods design of Design and Development Research (DDR) and experimental case study. The three phases of the research include analysing the needs of jazz guitar reharmonization techniques, developing a bite-sized learning framework, and validating the conceptual framework. The results of this study will be useful for online learners of all ages who want to learn jazz guitar harmony without enrolling in formal institutions. The developed method could also potentially be commercialized as an online application for bite-sized learning and adopted as a part of heutagogy approaches.

Women have played a significant role in the history of Lampung's indigenous people, a.k.a Ulun Lappung. Lampung and women have had a long relationship since the Lampung people's ancestors settled in this area in the 14th century. Ratu Sekarmong, a Lampung indigenous resident, has led the Tumi tribe in Sekala Brak. Then women played a unique role in the stringed music of the Pepadun community two generations ago, particularly the gitar tunggal. Participant observations of female gitar tunggal performers, particularly those from the Pepadun ethnic group of Lampung, were used to conduct this qualitative study. The number of female guitar players in Lampung is currently dispersed. Women of the ethnic Pepadun make up the majority of the performers. In-depth descriptions are also produced using ethnographic data and digital documents from the internet. Investigations on virtual field sites, interviews, and literature reviews are used to collect research data. According to the findings, male and female gitar tunggal performers use the same way in techniques. Contrarily, female guitarists have different goals than male guitarists. Women are prohibited from playing stringed instruments in public or in the local music industry. In addition, male performers typically remain active on stage, whereas female performers only reside in their homes. In the traditional view, their creativity is only used for household amusement. As a result, female guitarists must advance new coping mechanisms that affect their ability to retain music. Women's contributions to developing Lampung stringed music must be acknowledged, particularly in light of the patrilineal Lampung traditional system.

This article aims to explore the extent of the use of digital technology-based learning media in guitar lessons. Selecting the proper learning technique and considering how each component works might end in an effective learning process. The learning media component, for example, assists teachers in meeting the needs of their pupils and encourages active participation from all of them. The characteristics and aims of the student learning environment can be addressed in learning materials. Since the major in guitar lessons is a practical subject, effective learning results need the utilization of appropriate media. For this reason, educators use digital technology to enhance learning. Software, programs, websites, and social media are indications of digital technology media. The learning objectives for guitar strongly emphasize song repertoire, dance, and scale development. While learners cannot comprehend the score's sound, the song's rhythm and the guitar lick or pattern do not match the composer's intended interpretation, making learning to play the instrument by merely reading sheet music less than ideal. The qualitative method was applied in this study to examine the implementation of learning media based on the Guitar Pro program and the link between each variable, using descriptive narrative writing to illustrate the difficulties studied effectively. Result: The beneficial effects of using the Guitar Pro program as a learning media in electric guitar majors may be sensed in its ability to maximize learning processes and outcomes. Conclusion: This Guitar Pro application-based media can also be used in online learning, such that while showing guitar teaching content, the Guitar Pro app may help and guide students in understanding the material.

Cultural tourism represents a significant sector with considerable economic and educational benefits for both domestic and international visitors. Despite its intersection with various disciplines, the integration of performing arts within this domain remains underexplored. This mini-review employs the PRISMA methodology to systematically analyze data retrieved from the Scopus database, providing a structured insight into the existing literature. The findings reveal that while performing arts are acknowledged as a component of cultural tourism, their potential impact is not extensively documented. Nevertheless, this review identifies three core conceptual themes-sustainability, adaptability, and authenticitythat are essential to understanding the role of performing arts in enhancing the cultural tourism experience. These themes suggest a framework for future research and the strategic development of cultural tourism initiatives that harness the transformative power of performing arts.

The study of traditional music, particularly Malay Asli songs, has garnered significant attention from musicians and music scholars alike. However, existing research in this area has often been limited in scope, with minimal exploration of contemporary compositional techniques. This article aims to address this gap by investigating the hybridization of Malay Asli songs with chord-melody style composition for jazz guitar, while ensuring the preservation of their original essence. To achieve this goal, the article begins by providing an in-depth overview of the traditional composition of Malay Asli songs. It then outlines the methodology employed, which includes qualitative document analysis and musicology analysis. These methods are supplemented by expert interviews to triangulate the data, ensuring the reliability and validity of the findings. The practical application of this research methodology is demonstrated through the use of the lead sheet format for two popular Malay Asli repertoire pieces, Damak and Patah Hati. By employing the concept of jazz guitar reharmonization, the study showcases a novel approach to creating a contemporary variation of Malay Asli song composition. This study offers valuable insights for music educators and practitioners interested in exploring innovative methods of traditional music composition. By blending traditional melodies with jazz guitar reharmonization techniques, this research not only revitalizes Malay Asli songs but also introduces them to a new audience, contributing to the preservation and promotion of this cultural heritage.

The study of traditional music, such as Malay Asli songs, has garnered significant attention from musicians and music scholars. However, prior research on Malay Asli songs has been limited in scope, with little exploration of contemporary approaches to their composition. This article aims to contribute to the discourse by exploring the hybridisation of Malay Asli songs with chord melody style composition for jazz guitar, while retaining the essential elements of the original music. The article begins by providing an overview of the standard composition of Malay Asli songs. We then demonstrate our approach by utilising the lead sheet format of two popular Malay Asli repertoire, Damak and Patah Hati. Finally, we discuss how the concept of jazz guitar reharmonisation was employed to create a new variation of Malay Asli song composition. This study offers insights for music educators and practitioners interested in exploring new approaches to traditional music composition.

The cultivation of inner hearing is one of the important components of music skills learning and mastery. Nowadays, music teachers begin to pay attention to students' inner hearing, but the current lack of effective training methods are available for teaching in China. Although there are many teaching methods to study inner hearing theories at home and abroad, none is based on low-grade music classes in primary school. In terms of physical development rules, the earlier the music needs to be learned, the better. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide a set of feasible teaching methods suitable for junior primary school students (6-8 years old) to cultivate music inner hearing, and to provide a feasible training method for improving the inner hearing of the lower grade of primary schools in China.

This article proposes a pragmatism approach useful in explaining the logic of learning jazz guitar reharmonization techniques. Music and practices are both unseparated and unified in the field of music education. This poses challenges for traditional and western music consolidation because reharmonization technique is only known in western music repertoires while traditional music normally utilizes old-style repertoires. Some practitioners rooted in dogmatic thinking still maintain authenticity and traditions. In this study, our data is gathered using qualitative content analysis. We then identified similarity of pragmatism principles along with the interpretation of jazz reharmonization techniques. We suggest that pragmatism approach is a useful pathway for music educators to reconceptualize teaching and learning of traditional music using jazz reharmonization technique and then, recreate and innovate a new sound and context of learning jazz harmony rather than using jazz standards...

Today's world education has changed into e-learning, regardless of education level, from primary, secondary, and tertiary institutional. Alongside the Covid-19 pandemic, teachers worldwide need to recreate, rethink, and reinforce teaching and learn with various strategies. However, this is not an easy task in music instrumental lesson teachers because learning instrumental have been conducted face to face in nature. Other issues arise with the transition learning instrument to an online lesson. Teaching online is insufficient to tackle this issue due to students' low internet connection. Not all students can afford their musical instruments, such as the accordion. With movement control orders still enacted, students could not enter the campus. Hence, hindering them from borrowing musical instruments, especially students who are short of their musical instruments. This urges instrumental music educators to transform teaching materials into digitalisation mediums and blend them with online teaching and learning. This study conducted an extensive document analysis to investigate past literature reviews on how instrumental music lessons use blended learning strategies.
