To talk about The Notre Dame Cathedral is to talk about the history of France. Blood were spilled around Notre Dame because of the many wars and conflicts that Paris suffered through the years. Religion and Faith were extremely important during that period of time because many people devoted themselves to serve God. The construction of The Notre Dame Cathedral cost many lives and sacrifices through the years. These circumstances motivate composers to write music in the service of the church. Also new compositions were written to express their feelings and sorrow. Often prompted by political, educational, economical and social circumstances affecting their lives, composers through the ages have poured their hearts and souls into vast styles of musical compositions. Music from these compositions may be heard for only a moment before vanishing into the surrounding silence. This moment, also influenced by the performing artist's feelings and mood, is capable of evoking a response of deep feelings and thoughts while touching spiritual realms in the listener that will be remembered and cherished for a lifetime. Many such moments can be experienced in the exceptional and emotionally impacting pieces of music which originated from the school of Notre Dame in Paris France during 1170 A.D. to 1200 A.D. They were composers working in the same geographic area around the same time. During this time period Paris, France, the intellectual and artistically flourishing capital of Europe, beckoned to many musicians, scholars and poets. The Notre Dame School can be defined as consisting of two outstanding Notre Dame Cathedral choir masters Leonin and Perotin plus their followers. At the unparalleled school of Notre Dame, Leonin and Perotin's polyphonic treatment of existing Gregorian chant, along with measured rhythm, gave music a new powerful ongoing spirit creating a sound that would serve as an inspiring prototype for many great choral works in both secular and sacred musical styles throughout the ages. This article is about the library set up by the Mavrocordatos family. It refers to all three of its branches: Constantinople, Chios and Văcăreşti, but focuses especially on the latter. The library in the monastery near Bucharest was one of the most complete of its days, and was well known even in the West. Some of its content is presented in my text, including its various catalogues; the scholars who worked on these compilations will also be mentioned. A project similar in its scope-the reconstitution of a library-has accomplished in the library of Peter Mohyla in Kiev.

The article explores the 16-th century lawsuit in Paris University. If we look for the causes of future collisions in the 1586 court hearings, then we should speak more generally about the conflict between the Theology and Art Faculties, between the dean and the Rector, or between the Sorbonne and Navarra colleges. Latent rivalry, hitherto shadowed by struggle against the ‘common’ enemies, such as the Protestants, Jesuits, royal encroachments on academic privileges and property (such as Pré-aux-Clercs), the attempts to carry out a radical college reform, would boil over into an open conflict in the mid-17th century. Weapon in all these conflicts was University history. The author scrutinized the lawers’ arguments as the building materials for inventing traditions of Paris University.
