In recent years, there has been an increasing worldwide interest in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). This increasing demand for TCM needs to be accompanied by a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of action of TCM-based therapy. However, TCM is often described as a concept of Chinese philosophy, which is incomprehensible for Western medical society, thereby creating a gap between TCM and Western medicine (WM). In order to meet this challenge, TCM research has applied proteomics technologies for exploring the mechanisms of action of TCM treatment. Proteomics enables TCM researchers to oversee various pathways that are affected by treatment, as well as the dynamics of their interactions with one another. This review discusses the utility of comparative proteomics to better understand how TCM treatment may be used as a complementary therapy for Alzheimer's disease (AD). Additionally, we review the data from comparative AD-related TCM proteomics studies and establish the relevance of the data with available AD hypotheses, most notably regarding the ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS).

Although important demographic shifts have generated both an interest and profound transformations in sociocultural interpretations of ageing and old age, the experience of growing older is still perceived negatively and is often measured according to how successfully people adapt to the current Western ideals of later life. In the light of recent research on cultural and literary representations of ageing, this article critically addresses contemporary American writer Erica Jong's mid-life and later works from feminist and gender perspectives. It shows how the author's writings contest the narrative of decline and ageism and incorporate some aspects of positive ageing in terms of body image. Yet, instead of following the model of successful ageing, Jong offers alternative views of ageing femininities and sexuality that enable a different narrative of growing older to emerge. The writer's work also shows that socially and culturally constructed gender and power relationships can be deconstructed, which allows for new forms of self-expression that are not moulded into antiageing discourses and their neoliberal imperatives.

Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha) root extract has a broad range of pharmacological activities due to the presence of many biologically active metabolites. The current study was designed to evaluate the influence of The Trivedi Effect ®-Consciousness Energy Healing Treatment (Biofield Energy Healing) on the physical, spectroscopic, thermal and behavioral properties of ashwagandha root extract using PXRD, PSD, FT-IR, UV-vis spectroscopy, TGA, and DSC analysis. Ashwagandha root extract was divided into two parts – one part was control without any Biofield Energy Treatment and another part was treated with the Consciousness Energy Healing Treatment remotely by twenty renowned Biofield Energy Healers and defined as Biofield Energy Treated sample. The PXRD analysis exhibited that both the control and treated samples were amorphous in nature. The particle size values at d 10 , d 50 , and d 90 of the treated sample were increased significantly by 8.69%, 7.32%, and 6.50%, respectively compared with the control sample. Similarly, the surface area of the treated sample was significantly decreased by 12.69% compared to the control sample. The FT-IR analysis indicated no significant alteration of the force constant for the functional groups in the treated sample compared to the control sample. The UV-vis analysis revealed that the wavelength for the maximum absorbance of the control and treated samples were at 207.5 and 205.2 nm, respectively. The TGA revealed the two major thermal degradation steps and the total weight loss was decreased by 0.86% in the treated sample compared with the control sample. Consequently, the maximum thermal degradation temperature at 273.53°C and 389.39°C for two broad peaks in treated sample was increased by 0.78% and 0.31%, respectively compared to the control the sample (271.40°C and 388.48°C). The DSC analysis indicated that the evaporation temperature was significantly increased by 10.95% in the Biofield Energy Treated sample with a 5.34% reduced the latent heat of vaporization compared with the control sample. The overall thermal analysis indicated that the treated sample was thermally more stable as compared to the control sample. The Trivedi Effect ®-Energy of Consciousness Healing Treatment might lead to have better powder flowability and long-term storage stability compared with the control sample. Alteration of DNA methylation is highly associated with ageing and ageing-related diseases. Based on regression coefficients estimated from a large number of datasets, an individual’s chronological age can be predicted from DNA methylation data with high accuracy. An increasing body of literature suggests that the epigenetic clock relates to a molecular process that might play a causative role in biological aging,  showing that epigenetic age acceleration is prognostic of all-cause mortality. Remedy of the altered methylation pattern may provide beneficial efficacy on aging and its associated diseases. Here, we review the progress in the creation of  tools (CRISPR/dCas9 conjugated enzymes) for radical rejuvenation of living organisms by targeted influence on their epigenome.

Down syndrome (DS), caused by trisomy of chromosome 21, is marked by intellectual disability (ID) and early onset of Alzheimer's disease (AD) neuropathology including hippocampal cho-linergic projection system degeneration. Here we determined the effects of age and maternal choline supplementation (MCS) on hippocampal cholinergic deficits in Ts65Dn mice compared to 2N mice sacrificed at 6-8 and 14-18 months of age. Ts65Dn mice and disomic (2N) littermates sacrificed at ages 6-8 and 14-18 mos were used for an aging study and Ts65Dn and 2N mice derived from Ts65Dn dams were maintained on either a choline-supplemented or a choline-controlled diet (conception to weaning) and examined at 14-18 mos for MCS studies. In the latter, mice were be-haviorally tested on the radial arm Morris water maze (RAWM) and hippocampal tissue was examined for intensity of choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) immunoreactivity. Hippocampal ChAT activity was evaluated in a separate cohort. ChAT-positive fiber innervation was significantly higher in the hippocampus and dentate gyrus in Ts65Dn mice compared with 2N mice, independent of age or maternal diet. Similarly, hippocampal ChAT activity was significantly elevated in Ts65Dn mice compared to 2N mice, independent of maternal diet. A significant increase with age was seen in hippocam-pal cholinergic innervation of 2N mice, but not Ts65Dn mice. Degree of ChAT intensity correlated negatively with spatial memory ability in unsupplemented 2N and Ts65Dn mice, but positively in MCS 2N mice. The increased innervation produced by MCS appears to improve hippocampal function, making this a therapy that may be exploited for future transla-tional approaches in human DS.

Recent data show that as populations age, the number of people affected by neurodegenerative dementia is growing at an epidemic pace in various regions of the world. This cross-cultural study examined the relationships among age, gender, ethnicity, religion, and education as well as the attitudes and perceptions related to ageing and dementia. A random sample of 980 participants was selected to represent the multicultural population of Singapore. Data were collected using standardised questionnaires through online portals and by conducting interviews. These data were ultimately analysed by comparing percentage responses and correlation coefficients and by conducting a multiple regression analysis. The results indicate that the perceptions and attitudes of individuals toward ageing and dementia differ among different age groups. Moreover, the level of education attained was significantly correlated with understanding dementia; regardless of education level, Christians had the most positive mindset toward dementia, although most religious individuals did not believe in divine healing. In this study, it was determined that attitudes and perceptions about ageing and dementia are influenced by multiple factors, such as education, age, and religion, and that it is imperative that younger generations develop coping strategies, including healthy lifestyles and social and/or religious communities to provide quality care to the elderly, in general, and to dementia patients, in particular.

Recent advances in the technology of ''aging clocks'' based on DNA methylation suggest that it may be possible to measure changes in the rate of human aging over periods as short as a year or two. To the extent that methylation (and other biomarkers) are valid surrogates for biological age, the testing of antiaging interventions has thus become radically cheaper, faster, and more practical. Together with colleagues at UCLA, I have initiated a clinical trial to evaluate some of the most popular antiaging strategies currently deployed by ''early adopters'' in the lay community of personal health activists. We are recruiting 5000 subjects, age 45-65, and interviewing them in detail about their diet, drugs and supplements, exercise, social, and other practices that plausibly contribute to modulate the rate of aging. They agree to submit blood samples for analysis of meth-ylation age at the beginning, middle, and end of a 2-year test period. Primary endpoint is the difference in methylation age over the course of 2 years. We are in the process of developing a specialized clock, optimized for individual differences over time. Results will be viewed as an exploratory study to identify synergistic combinations of age-retarding treatments. It is our expectation that there is a great deal of redundancy in the strategies that have been researched and promoted to the aware public; thus, most combinations can retard the rate of aging by only a few percent, consistent with the best known single measures. However, we hope that among the many strategies that our subjects have adopted, there will be some combinations that synergize and achieve age retardation by ‡25% or more. A mock-up analysis of computer-generated data has been performed to fix parameters of the study, and confirm that such combinations will be able to be detected with good probability , should they exist. All data (redacted for privacy) will be open sourced, available to the scientific community and to the public.

Despite the great progress that has been made, a comprehensive understanding of biological processes that shape ageing is lacking. Senescence is a dynamic, plastic and highly complex metaphenomenon whose aetiology remains unclear. The paucity of information notwithstanding, some researchers promote 'anti-ageing' drugs and formulae every now and again. The rationale behind this concept is that ageing can be reduced to a mixture of biochemical reactions. Furthermore, the distinction between ageing and disease has been questioned on the grounds that ageing is the root of age-related diseases. It has been claimed that disease-oriented approaches can help delay ageing and prevent age-related diseases. Although these methods seem incongruous from an evolutionary standpoint, they become popular amongst the public. Moreover, if ageing is classified as a disease, this situation is likely to be exacerbated. Therefore, it is important to recognise the limitations of these reductionist and disease-oriented approaches. Only holistic and evidence-based strategies might be useful in slowing down ageing and preventing age-related diseases in the future.

A new proprietary herbomineral formulation was formulated, consisting of an essential ingredients viz. an herbal root extract ashwagandha and minerals (zinc, magnesium, and selenium). The aim of this study was to evaluate the immunomodulatory potential of Energy of Consciousness Healing (The Trivedi Effect ®) Treatment on the herbomineral formulation in male Sprague Dawley rats. The test formulation was divided into two parts. One part was denoted as the control without any Biofield Energy Treatment, while the other part was defined as the Biofield Energy Treated sample, which received the Biofield Energy Healing Treatment remotely from seven renowned Biofield Energy Healers. Additionally, one group of animals was also received Biofield Energy Treatment per se (day-15) by Biofield Energy Healers under similar conditions. The immunological parameters viz. humoral immune analysis, paw volume, hematological study, biochemistry, body weight, feed and water intake, and histopathology analysis were performed in this experiment. The humoral immune response data showed the secondary antibody titre was significantly increased by 112.50% and 87.50% in the Biofield Energy Treated test formulation group (G4) and untreated test formulation group (G5) compared to the disease control group (G2). The results of delayed type hypersensitivity showed significant increased the paw volume by 111.76%, 51.45%, 100%, and 64.80% in the G4, G5, Biofield Energy Treatment group per se at day-15 (G6) and Biofield Energy Treated test formulation at day-15 (G7) groups, respectively compared to the G2 group. The platelet count was significantly increased by 37.72%, 8.69%, 16.30% and 33.11% in the G4, G5, G6, and G7 groups, respectively compared to the G2 group. The level of blood urea nitrogen was significantly decreased by 14.01% in the G4 group compared to the disease control. Moreover, the concentration of uric acid was significantly reduced by 28.97% in the G7 group compared to the G2 group. Animal weight parameters suggested that there were no treatment-related changes in any group. Organ to body weight ratio, feed and water intake data described that the Biofield Energy Treated test formulation was found to be safe without any side-effect during the course of the experiment. Overall, results suggested that the Biofield Energy Treated herbomineral formulation and Biofield Energy Treatment per se can be used for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, stress management and prevention, and anti-aging by improving overall health.

Magnesium gluconate is a potent antioxidant used for the prevention and treatment of hypomagnesia. The current research was aimed to investigate the impact of The Trivedi Effect ®-Energy of Consciousness Healing Treatment (Biofield Energy Healing Treatment) on magnesium gluconate for the change in the physicochemical, structural, thermal and behavioral properties using PXRD, PSD, FT-IR, UV-vis spectroscopy, TGA, and DSC analysis. Magnesium gluconate was divided into two parts – one part was control, while another part was treated with The Trivedi Effect ®-Energy of Consciousness Healing Treatment (Biofield Energy Healing Treatment) remotely by twenty renowned Biofield Energy Healers and defined as The Trivedi Effect ® treated sample. The PXRD analysis exhibited that the crystallite size of the treated sample was remarkably changed from range-37.52% to 180.14% compared with the control sample. The average crystallite size was reduced in the treated sample by 0.11% compared with the control sample. PSD analysis revealed that the particle sizes in the treated sample at d 10 and d 50 values were significantly decreased by 11.36% and 8.25%, respectively, while the particle size at d 90 was increased in the treated sample by 2.43% compared with the control sample. The treated sample's surface area was significantly increased by 9.54% compared with the control sample. The FT-IR and UV-vis analysis showed that the structure of the magnesium gluconate remained the same in both the treated and control samples. The TGA analysis revealed the four steps thermal degradation of the both samples and the total weight loss of the treated sample was reduced by 2.32% compared with the control sample. This result indicated that the thermal stability of the treated sample was improved compared with the control sample. The DSC analysis revealed that the melting temperature of the treated sample (171.05°C) was decreased by 0.17% compared with the control sample (171.34°C). The latent heat of fusion was decreased by 1.16% in the treated sample compared with the control sample. The current study infers that The Trivedi Effect ®-Energy of Consciousness Healing Treatment (Biofield Energy Healing Treatment) might lead to a new polymorphic form of magnesium gluconate, which would be more soluble, bioavailable, and thermally stable compared with the untreated 43 Mahendra Kumar Trivedi et al.: An Impact of Energy of Consciousness (The Trivedi Effect ®) on the Physicochemical, Thermal, Structural, and Behavioral Properties of Magnesium Gluconate compound. There is increasing experimental and clinical evidence that oxidation plays a pivotal role in causing neurodegeneration in general and Parkinson's disease in particular. The protective role of antioxidants in such conditions has not been fully examined, but certain neuroprotective agents that have antioxidant action are now being credited with an ability to prevent oxidation-induced neuronal dysfunction. One such agent is the dopamine agonist apomorphine, which is already in clinical use, providing symptomatic relief in Parkinson's disease patients. This paper reviews the wide range of apomorphine's neuroprotective benefits, suggesting that it is a promising agent with regards to its potential to prevent, reduce, and retard age-related neurodegeneration.

Background: Aging of skin is associated with environmental factors such as ultraviolet rays, air pollution, gravity, and genetic factors, all of which can lead to wrinkling of skin. Previous reports suggest that the wound repair is impaired by the aging process and strategies to manipulate the age-related wound healing are necessary in order to stimulate repair.
Objective: Several traditional plant extracts are well-known for their properties of skin protection and care. Piper cambodianum P. Fourn. (PPF), a member of Piperacecae, is a plant found in Vietnam that might have therapeutic properties. Therefore, the effects of PPF stem and leaf extract on aging process were investigated in vitro and in vivo.
Methods: PPF extract dissolved in methanol was investigated using Western blotting, real-time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, flow cytometry, and cell wound-healing assays. We assessed the anti-aging effect of PPF in mouse using the wound-healing assay. The results were analyzed by Student’s unpaired t-test; *P,0.05 and **P,0.01 were considered to indicate significant and highly significant values, respectively, compared with corresponding controls.
Results: PPF treatment demonstrated in vitro and in vivo anti-aging activity. Western blot analysis of PPF-treated normal human dermal fibroblast cells showed a dose-dependent increase in the expression of extracellular matrix genes such as collagen and elastin, but decreased expression of the aging gene matrix metalloproteinase-3. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction showed that PPF-treated cells displayed dose-dependent increase in messenger RNA expression levels of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronan synthase-2 and decreased expression levels of matrix metalloproteinase-1 aging gene. PPF treatment led to decreased production of reactive oxygen species in cells subjected to ultraviolet irradiation. Furthermore, PPF extract showed positive wound-healing effects in mice.
Conclusion: This study demonstrated the anti-aging and wound-healing effects of PPF extract. Therefore, PPF extract represents a promising new therapeutic agent for anti-aging and wound-healing treatments.

Zinc chloride is an important inorganic compound used as a source of zinc in various pharmaceutical/nutraceutical formulations. The objective of the current study was to investigate the impact of The Trivedi Effect ®-Energy of Consciousness Healing Treatment (Biofield Energy Treatment) on physical, structural, thermal, and behavioral properties of zinc chloride using PXRD, PSD, FT-IR, UV-vis, and DSC analysis. Zinc chloride was divided into two parts – one part was control, while another part was treated with The Trivedi Effect ® remotely by twenty renowned Biofield Energy Healers and defined as The Trivedi Effect ® Treated sample. A significant alteration of the crystallite size and relative intensities of the PXRD peaks was observed in The Trivedi Effect ® treated sample compared with the control sample. The average crystallite size of the treated sample was significantly decreased by 16.31% compared with the control sample. The particle size values at d 10, d 50, and d 90 were significantly decreased by 11.54%, 7.75%, and 1.34%, respectively in the treated sample compared with the control sample. Therefore, the surface area of the treated sample was significantly increased by 8.36% compared with the control sample. The FT-IR spectroscopic analysis revealed that Zn-Cl stretching in both the control and treated samples were found at 516 cm-1. The UV-vis analysis exhibited that wavelength of the maximum absorbance (λ max) of the control and treated samples were at 196.6 nm and 196.4 nm, respectively. The DSC analysis exhibited that the melting and decomposition temperature were increased by 1.25% and 0.21%, respectively in the treated zinc chloride compared to the control sample. The latent heat of fusion of the treated sample (434.97 J/g) was significantly increased by 84.74% compared with the control sample (235.45 J/g). Similarly, the enthalpy of decomposition of the treated sample (1241.86 J/g) was significantly increased by 307.21% compared with the control sample (304.97 J/g). So, the treated sample could be more stable during manufacturing, delivery or storage conditions than the untreated sample. The current study anticipated that The Trivedi Effect ®-Energy of Consciousness Healing Treatment might lead to produce a thermally more stable new polymorphic form of zinc chloride, which would be more soluble and bioavailable compared with the untreated compound. Penuaan dini pada kulit bisa karena faktor dari lingkungan ataupun juga dari dalam pribadi orang tersebut.  Apa penyebab penuaan dini hal ini bisa saja karena kondisi dari lingkungan serta fisik masing-masing individu. Mengatasi penuaan dini pada wajah dan juga penyebab penuaan dini pada wajah biasanya akan terlihat paling mudah kita jumpai dan paling mudah dikenali. Penyebab penuaan dini yang paling banyak terjadi dikarenakan oleh adanya radikal bebas yang penyebabnya dikarenakan paparan dari sinar ultraviolet. Ciri ciri gejala penuaan dini yang paling terlihat yaitu kulit akan terlihat tidak bercahaya dan adanya tanda-tanda lain pada kulit. Bisa saja berupa flek hitam, noda hitam pada kulit, jerawatan yang tidak kunjung sembuh dll.

1. Terlihat Keriput Pada Ujung Mata

Keriput pada ujung mata ini bisa semakin parah kalau kita punya kebiasaan buruk merokok. Selain itu dikarenakan juga oleh radiasi sinar matahari atau paparan dari ultra violet. Ketika hal ini terjadi maka radikal bebas ini bisa akibatkan rusaknya DNA pada kulit dan juga membran sel. Nah akibat dari hal ini adalah kolagen yang mengatur elastisitas juga akan cepat rusak dan ini bisa menyebabkan keriput.

2. Flek Hitam Pada Wajah

Tanda penuaan kulit pada wajah khususnya yang biasa terkena paparan sinar ultraviolet akan timbul flek hitam apalagi jika keluar rumah saat cuaca terik tidak memakai sun block. Fle atau bercak hitam umumnya terjadi pada kulit bagian wajah, tangan, kemudian dahi juga bahu.

3. Kulit Terasa Kasar Juga Kering

Ketika kondisi sinar matahari yang terik dan menyoroti kulit ditambah dengan radikal bebas bisa mengakibatkan kolagen kulit tidak elastis. Kalau terjadi kurangnya elastisitas maka jangan khawatir karena bisa saja kulit akan lebih cepat untuk kering juga kasar.

4. Pori Pori Besar

Penuaan dini bisa dicirikan dengan pori-pori tubuh yang  semakin besar dan ini disebabkan oleh sel kulit mati bertumpuk pada sekitar pori. Pada saat kurang tidur, kita akan terlihat bgt pori membesar.

According to the traditional explanations ("old paradigm"), aging is due to the progressive accumulation of heterogeneous damages that are insufficiently contrasted by natural selection. An opposite interpretation ("new paradigm") sees aging as selectively advantageous in terms of supra-individual natural selection, and this implies the indispensable existence of genetically controlled specific mechanisms that determine it. The aim of this work is to expound synthetically the progressive alterations that mark the aging by showing how these changes are clearly defined and regulated by genes. The possibility of such a description, based on sound evidence, is an essential element for the plausibility of the new paradigm, and a fundamental argument against the tenability of the old paradigm.
