Antichrist

The article has two main focuses – first, it follows the most significant and important Antichrist myth researches, and secondly, the Greek tradition of De Christo et Antichristo by Hippolytus of Rome and the Slavonic versions of the text. The Slavonic witnesses are examined according to their omissions, additions, grammatical and morphological variations, and also some of the changes in the Bible quotations are highlighted. This work does not pretend to present new information on the Greek sources but to demonstrate how important the Slavonic translation is to the interpretation of the Greek original. The most interesting results are pointed out in the relation with the Greek text itself, where the proximity between the Greek fragment of Meteora Monastery 573 and the Slavonic tradition is presented.

The article argues that René Girard and Ivan Illich, each in their distinctive ways, draw upon the dimensions of the Christian apocalyptic tradition that are often ignored, and that their retrievals of this tradition, specifically of its theology of Antichrist, open up once again the theology of history, an area of inquiry in Christian theology that we often dismiss or ignore, thus yielding the field and allowing the figure of Antichrist and the apocalyptic tradition to be taken up and deployed as weapons of mimetic destruction in just the ways our popular culture has come to fear. It is incumbent upon Christian theology to take up once again difficult questions in the theology of history, particularly in an apocalyptic key, and Ivan Illich and René Girard, neither of whom claimed to be a theologian, may be our "two witnesses," our "Enoch and Elijah," who help us to do just that.

APSTRACT  IN ENGLISH: St. John Chrysostom is authetic interperetatour of Holy Bible. He perfectly expresses christian pedagogy who leads to echatological perfection. Echatology is closed to theology and cosmology, also to economy and pedagogical athropology of church. Holy Father is great prophet of love and teacher of human`s freedom. God as educator made man to become king of all living creatures, made him by his own appearance. He made him to live by His rules trying to reach perfection like His is. Evil is not eternal. Falling of 10 Rules happened because their/Adam`s and Eve`s, freedom wasnt used well and in good purpose. The God is doctor and teacher also.
That is why St. John Chrysostom wrote about god in every human. Good teaching gives to a human possibilities to make diference between the good and the bad. Human racio teach first elements of kidness and compassion, but the laws of Bibles teachs him more than that-New Testament discover the whole Truth. Inside of it, man isnt just invited to keep rules of The Old testament, he is invited to live by the rules just like Jesus Christ. There`s no more evil, the death doesnt mean anything else but the beginning of the echatology.  Baptising and Holy community bring to a human spiritual perfection and hope for new life and rewarding. This life isnt anything else but the place where man is preparing himself for eternal life after this one. Becouse of that, the man needs to obey God`s rules of love.     Bible texts are correct and clear about the time of Antichrist`s arrival. Speeches of Christ about things that happened in Jerusalem and the ones who will happen before end of the World, are the sources who were used by the holly fathers, like St. John Crysostom did. Christ spoke very carefully to his alumnaes about signs who will announce His second arrival-global hunger, deseases, wars, earthquakes, who never haoppened before so strongly destructive. St. John Crysostom thought all this will happen becouse of the humans lost of faith in Crist, that the Jewish people will never get Jerusalem just for themselves. But nowdays we are the vitnesses of the fact that they live there and that their state was made on that teritory in 1949. as long as with their language and culture. This unncorrect St. John`s notes doesn`t mean he wasn`t the Holly father, his signs can be analized before the Christ second arrival, people who will live in that time will easy understand them.
St John Crysostom emphasizes the fact that the Lord wants to avoid the misunderstanding between His alumnaes. Thanks to them, he managed to protect His future Christians from the fake prophets and non-christians, who will appeare in the future as non-christians and not ready as pedagogs to prepare the world for their leader, the Last Antichrist. Worst certainty that will scare history, caused by the Devil himself, will be considered as miracle in order to deceive even the Chosen ones. That is why, the Christians will have to fight their biggest battle in order to become stronger and overcome any obstacle of their lives. After the deep sadness that for the first time will overwhelm those who are kept away from God, and after the big natural confusion of the Universe, the symbol of Christ, the Holly Cross will be revealed in the sky. Chrysostom interprets those events and great signs in heaven and on Earth, pointing to Jerusalem and the end of the Antichrist and the World. Sermon of the Gospel, throughout the known World, would be accompanied by the destruction and wars, prophets Elijah and Enoch will appear to uncover the Antichrist in the time of his kingdom, three and the half years before his rule oftyranny, in modest clothing they will arrive and be executed after their pronouncing.
As a theologian antiocheianos Chrysostom does not refer directly to the Book of Revelation. Because of the refusal and aversion of ancient Israel, the Holly father interprets the words of the Lord of the apocalyptic centuries and that Jews did not accept the true Messiah the Christ, will be those who will accept the false Messiah and false Christ Antichrist. Allegoricly, he compared Jews with fig tree which Jesus cursed that has no born fruit, such as king they waited and waited, not a small great man.

Documentul conține un comentariu la Daniel 11-12, în viziune proprie, dar inspirat de comentarile clasice de tradiție historicistă (protestantă), păstrând inclusiv cheia „zi-an” a hermeneuticii apocaliptice. Revelația dată de înger lui Daniel cuprinde un interminabil conflict, pe mai multe planuri: nai întâi un conflict est-vest, apoi un conflict nord-sud; toate pe fundalul unui conflict între cer și pământ, sugerat în cap. 10, care introduce viziunea. Conflictul are ca principal mobil Israelul, poporul lui Dumnezeu, care este profund afectat și purificat prin încercări. În ultima parte a revelației, când conflictul trece dincolo de realitatea Israelului etnic, la Israelul spiritual, persecuții ca aceea inițiată de Antioh IV se repetă și se amplifică până la sfârșit; Antichristul apare, așa cum era profețit, după scenariul din Daniel 7, în rolul de „rege din nord”, ca un vârf al sistemului politico-religios. La celălalt pol al lumii Israelului spiritual, în acest timp al sfârșitului, „regele din sud” este elementul politic opus:  secularismul, statul secular. Capitolul 12, cu precizări teologice și cronologice este o finalizare și o explicație a scenariului din capitolul 11, folosind elemente din capitolele anterioare (în special 2, 7 și 8).

Raramente gli artisti si sono soffermati invece sulla lotta che il profeta, insieme a Enoch, dovrà combattere con l’Anticristo durante gli ultimi giorni della civiltà umana prima del Giudizio Universale.

Esistono tuttavia anche altri testi, riconducibili alla letteratura apocalittica apocrifa, ai quali gli artisti e i committenti possono aver attinto informazioni e suggestioni.
Questo studio intende passare in rassegna le principali fonti letterarie apocrife nel tentativo di contestualizzare questi particolari soggetti iconografici nell’ambito del vasto ed articolato corpus di tradizioni legate al profeta Elia.

The identity of the little horn power in Daniel 8 (and 7) is largely determined by the method of interpretation of that chapter, the book of Daniel as a whole, apocalyptic prophecies, and the entire Bible. The Maccabean thesis, which is built on preteristic interpretation method, believes that the little horn corresponds for a Seleucid king, Antiochus IV Epiphanes, who stood against the Jews in the second century BCE. There is also a view, that claims that the little horn in Daniel 7 is not the same little horn as in Daniel 8, as André Reis argues (André Reis, “A Response to Glifford Goldstein on the Little Horn on Daniel 8,” ResearchGate, April, 2018, accessed August 18, 2019, https://www.researchgate.net/publication/324758761_A_RESPONSE_TO_CLIFFORD_GOLDSTEIN_ON_THE_LITTLE_HORN_OF_DANIEL_8.). However, this interpretation has many problems. For example, it breaks the unity and apocalyptic-universal and end-time characteristics of the book of Daniel. Historicism, on the other hand, stands on these characteristics. As a matter of fact, the principles of Protestant biblical hermeneutics point to the direction of historicism, as will be shown when textual, lexical, and theological areas are researched.

The goal of this paper is to bring the following contributions: It establishes a chiastic structure for Daniel 7-12, which thematic peaks are Christ and the Day of Atonement. It offers answers for André Reis' grammatical, lexical, textual, and theological arguments for Antiochus Epiphanes being the little horn in Daniel 8. It shows that when the little horn continues the philosophical and spiritual legacy or continuum of the king of the north, it establishes the little horn's coming from the cardinal point of north, without the little horn needing to come from one of the four horns of the goat.

The thesis statement: This research argues that Antiochus IV Epiphanes cannot be the little horn of Daniel 7 and/or 8 because: (1) The historicist view for the origin of the little horn is the most probable; (2) Epiphanes was not great enough and the preeminent in the land for the proportions of the little horn, but Rome was preeminent in its imperial stage, and was and is preeminent in its papal stage; (3) the time prophecies of Daniel do not fit into the reign of this Seleucid king; (4) Epiphanes did not rise at the latter period of the Seleucid kingdom; (5) the book of Daniel is mainly a universal book, and Christocentric interpretation model leads to that conclusion; (6) because the book is universal in scope, the little horn grants universal proportions, which are also seen in history; (7) it is more probable that the little horn comes from one of the four winds (the northern wind) than one of the four horns, because the little horn continues the philosophical and spiritual legacy or continuum of the king of the north; and (8) the “abomination of desolation”, ultimately, has a spiritual and end-time meaning, which is fulfilled in history.

This is a semi-technical treatment of eschatological themes derived from the Book of Revelation, although quite accessible to popular readership.  A key section is "The Significance of 'Pharmakeia' References in Identifying 21st Century Babylon in Revelation", which then leads to an examination of what the very end of Apocalypse (the interadvental period) entails, including Armageddon.  It is written from the POV of the Amillennial "modified idealist" school (per G.K. Beale), with some conceptual ventures Dr. Beale may not approve of.

The words of the title «The Semantic Dissolution of the Katéchon» summarize the fundamental thesis of the article. Indeed, the history of the interpretation of 2Th. 2:6-7 wanted to see evoked in those verses an entity (reality or person), functional to retain, curb or prevent the last manifestation of the Antichrist, in order to delay the parousía of Christ himself. The contribution of the present study aims to definitively dissolve this semantics that has influenced the very eschatological interpretation of Paul and his school from the end of the second century, with Tertullian. Instead of a «restraint» for the manifestation of the Antichrist, more simply, the Katéchon represents the Pauline mysterium, the Gospel to treasure in the community of Thessalonica, in line with the constant concern of the Pauline mission. The combination of these values of an imminent eschatology, documented in primis by the Gospel according to Matthew, allows us to place this Pauline conception in the context of the broader synoptic tradition of Jesus.

This essay deals with the ambivalent relationship between Carl Schmitt and the United States, focusing on the subject of International Relations. In the first paragraph, I summarize the place held by the U.S. throughout Schmitt's works: although he obviously sees America as an enemy, he is nevertheless an admirer of its imperial policy, and draws inspiration from the Monroe Doctrine when he shapes his concept of Großraum. In the second paragraph, I sketch the intertwining of political and theological themes in Schmitt's referring to the U.S. as an incarnation of biblical figures (the katechon and the Antichrist). Finally, I present some considerations on Schmitt's connection with two important émigré scholars, Hans Morgenthau and Henry Kissinger, who were somewhat influenced by his works.
