The cyclone-type separator with swirling baffle and bottom take off of clean gas is a patented technique for separating solid particles from gases. Main relative dimensions of the separator are the same as given by Stairmand [C.J. Stairmand, The design and performance of cyclone separators, Trans. Inst. Chem. Eng. 29 (1951), 356–383] for the high efficiency cyclone. The principal part of the construction is the cylinder-shape swirling baffle with the flow gaps cut on its surface. The article presents the theoretical model of the new construction of cyclone-type separator with swirling baffle and bottom take off of clean gas. Environmental hazard is a potentially damaging physical event, phenomenon or human activity that may cause the loss of life or property, social and economic disruption or environmental degradation (UNO). It is apparent from the above UN definition that hazards are physical events i.e. causes or processes of disasters whether natural or man-induced. North east India falls in earthquake zone area, face numerous hazard, be it natural or manmade hazard. Every year thousands of people lost their life and property. In the state of Assam, flood is the most often occurring phenomena, flooded by the mighty Brahmaputra and its tributaries, surrounded by the hills on all side. Thunderstorm and cyclone also have great effect in the area. From the past one year, cyclone has been the distraous in the hilly district of Karbi Anglong, Assam. Lots of houses, property and many injured have been reported from the affected area. This paper tries to understand and analyze the environmental hazard and vulnerability in Karbi Anglong district of Assam. Data is based on both primary and secondary data collected from different sources.

Cyclone Burevi was media hyped to reach India as a  cyclonic storm and cross the southern districts of Tamilnadu and Kerala and move into the Arabian sea on 3rd,4th  of December as per earlier weather forecasts.But suddenly on 3rd December evening the cyclone weakened into a deep depression and lay in the Gulf of Mannar , baffling weather forecast experts and  making  forecasts of its advance go haywire. This calls for strengthening of the weather/cyclone prediction models with additional right data inputs as explained in this article.

The most difficult thing in this world is to predict the weather and its effects. Cyclones are one of them which
causes heavy damage. An efficient Artificial Intelligence system which can predict and warn about the upcoming
cyclones would be a relief to the society. A system using Gated Recurrent Unit which is a newer generation of Recurrent
Neural Network (RNN) for predicting the possibilities of upcoming cyclones and the areas that might be affected much
ahead of time. Thus, the National Disaster Management Authority will be able to take prior preparation before the
disaster so that the property damage and loss of lives can be reduced exponentially.

The case will be useful in disaster risk reduction course and particularly for administrators, planners, practitioners, & other relevant stakeholders. Administrative response plays a major role in handling disasters, and administrative response is not widely documented. The documentation of best practices, challenges faced, inter-department & interstate coordination will help in building the understanding of complex realities during disasters and will act as a reference to future administrators, practitioners, policy makers & others interested in the field. Teaching Objective The case is structured as a cliff-hanger, to allow students to bring a critical, appraising eye to the different facets of administrative response to cyclone before they learn whether or not it was a success.

Bangladesh is one of the most vulnerable countries affected by the climate change and natural disaster. Costal belt is more vulnerable to cyclone, flood and storm surge resulting from climate change. Shelter is a place providing short time safety for disaster victims if hazardous disasters are released into the atmosphere. At present we have to think about cyclone shelter because we are in the front line of the battle against climate change, facing over 200 natural disasters in the last 40 years and most of them are cyclones. A shelter is a simple solution that saves lives during natural disaster like cyclone and storm surge. The major focus of this study is to detect the limitations of the existing and newly constructed cyclone shelters to accommodate and save the community people. To fulfill the goal of this article, field survey with secondary data collection has been done. A questionnaire survey was adopted to accomplish the primary field data while secondary data were collected from academic journals and pertinent offices. This investigation found that the plan, design of shelter, quality of construction, shelter management, capacity, facilities, entrance, exit and policy are not quite capable enough to face upcoming disasters in near future and that's why we should think sumptuously about these shelters. This research finding could be implemented in constructing cyclone shelter to make it more resilient and effective in the coastal belt throughout the world like Bangladesh.

In this study, methods were developed for comparative evaluation of three primary dust collection methods employed in vacuum cleaners: filter bag, cyclonic, and wet primary dust collection. The dry collectors were evaluated with KCl test aerosols that are commonly used in filter testing. However, these aerosols cannot be used for evaluating wet collectors due to their hygroscopicity. Therefore, the wet collectors were evaluated with nonhygroscopic test particles. Both types of test aerosol indicated similar collection efficiencies in tests with dry collectors. The data show that high initial collection efficiency can be achieved by any one of the three dust collection methods: up to 50% for 0.35 microm particles, and close to 100% for 1.0 microm and larger particles. In the last few decades, the generation of data has increased and it is expected to increase in future. So that it is necessary to process a large amount of data set in weather and analyse the same using the traditional methods. In the existing system, it aims to forecast the chances of rainfall by using predictive analysis in Hadoop. It helps to predict the rainfall in minimum and maximum by taking the data as input. It uses the apache PIG. It have some disadvantages, so in proposed system we use a Naïve Bayse algorithm to predict earth quake, floods , etc., It focuses on meteorological data to predict the seasons to separate the weather data based on Longitudinal and Latitudinal which can be used to analyse the reliability factor of cyclone, earthquake, rainfall, temperature and humidity. It provides specific service to an assessment of pollution impacts from different organization and thermal power plants. It is easy and fast to predict class of test data set. It also performs well in multi class prediction.

In this paper we review data collected from an online, social media-administered survey developed to explore public use of social media during a series of natural disasters, predominantly in Australia and New Zealand, during January to March 2011. These data are then explored using examples taken from the experiences of those involved in administering the most widely-used community-driven Facebook page during these disasters, which focused on tropical cyclone Yasi ('Cyclone Yasi Update'). The survey was completed by 1146 respondents who had used social media in relation to the recent natural disasters. Almost every year, Bangladesh experiences disasters such as tropical cyclones, storm surges, coastal erosion or floods. Tropical cyclones originate from the North Indian Ocean and often cause devastating flood inundations in Bangladesh. Storm surges of the Bay of Bengal (BOB) are larger compared to other regions of the world for similar cyclones due to amplification by the shallow water depth, huge continental shelf and convergent coastlines. This scenario of inundation for such storm surges in the future when the sea level rise (SLR) occurs due to global warming will be different from the present. The densely populated coastal region of Bangladesh is likely to become more vulnerable in the future due to SLR. Disaster risks can be reduced if storm surges can be predicted well ahead. To assess the possible changes of inundation in the future, a widely used coastal model, Delft3D, has been applied for this BOB region. The model has been validated for the storm surge of three recent devastating cyclones, namely, Sidr, Aila and Roanu in the southern coast of Bangladesh. The validated model has been run to produce inundation maps and statistics for cyclonic storm surges such as Sidr, Aila and Roanu and probable SLR. Three possible SLR boundary conditions are chosen from the business-as-usual climate scenario representative concentration pathway 8.5 with values of 0.5 m (lower limit), 1 m (upper limit) and 1.5 m (extreme case, considering the subsidence and a rapid collapse of the Antarctic ice sheet). It is found that a category 4 cyclone such as cyclone Sidr would inundate 2.6%, 3.67% and 5.84% of the area of the country if the SLR is 0.5, 1 and 1.5 m, which will affect the livelihood of nearly 4.1, 7.0 and 9.1 million people of Bangladesh, respectively. It will also inundate up to 21.0%, 42.1% and 65.1% of the Sundarbans mangrove forest, which will undoubtedly affect the ecology of this unique ecosystem.
