We study the problem of checking the competence of communicative agents operating in a global society in order to receive and offer electronic services. Such a society will be composed of local sub-societies that will often be semi-open, viz., entrance of agents in a semi-open society is conditional to specific admission criteria. Assuming that a candidate agent provides an abstract description of their communicative skills, we present a test that a controller agent could perform in order to decide if a candidate agent should be admitted. We formulate this test by revisiting an existing knowledge representation framework based on games specified as extended logic programs. The resulting framework finds useful application in complex and inter-operable web-services construed as semi-open societies in support of the global vision known as the Semantic Web.

Analysis of accident reports has been a useful tool in occupational safety research. According to European Statistics on Accidents at Work framework (ESAW), important variables related to the main circumstances of accidents are being gathered in Europe. The purpose of this paper is to present a method for analysis of accident databases that are coded according to the ESAW and based on Multiple Correspondence Analysis. The method proposed considers the implicit conceptual relationship between the exposure and accident variables in order to identify main areas for public policy intervention. This method is presented by analyzing specific working processes using a dataset of the accidents that were reported in the Andalusian manufacturing over a ten-year period. The method presented allowed easy identification of the main associations candidates for public intervention programs. Each could be object to further detailed research before designing the intervention program. This method could help policy makers when identifying areas for public intervention.

This demonstration will be the presentation of a new testbed for joint activity. The domain for this demonstration will be similar to the classic AI planning problem of Blocks World (BW) extended into what we are calling Blocks World for Teams (BW4T). By teams, we mean at least two, but usually more members. Additionally, we do not restrict the membership to artificial agents, but include and in fact expect human team members. Study of joint activity of heterogeneous teams is the main function of the BW4T testbed.
