This research examines how biological ageing presents opportunities for Artificial Intelligence (AI). It aims to analyze AI's role in understanding ageing and disease, evaluate recent AI applications in ageing research, assess the feasibility of AI integration in ageing studies, explore the growth of longevity medicine, and investigate the advantages of AI technologies. Using secondary data analysis, the study identifies research gaps and explores AI's potential benefits. Study critical analysis of ageing theory, biological age, and deep ageing clocks. The study also evaluates the feasibility and effectiveness of integrating AI in longevity medicine. The significance of the study is that it emphasizes the care support and rehabilitation services of ageing people. Ultimately, it aims to understand AI's potential in advancing ageing research and its implications for longevity medicine. AI effectively utilizes and protects health data, and improves geriatric care.

Malnutrition for the elderly is a serious threat to their health. An elderly malnourished person is more exposed to illness, to disability and to institutionalization. Among the causes of malnutrition there is also the reduction of food intake for reduced hunger. With aging many factors favor the prevalence of satiety with respect to the desire to eat. This condition has been defined as anorexia of aging. Gastric motility impairment, unbalanced central and gastrointestinal hormone and peptide dynamics, together with sensory deterioration, depression, social and iatrogenic factors may be found frequently among older person and cause anorexia. Reduced appetite and exaggerated feeling of satiety are also causes of deterioration of quality of life, due to the decrease in the pleasure of eating and the presence of unpleasant, early and prolonged sense of fullness. Syncope is a common reason for emergency room visits and hospital admission and, in about one patient out of six it can be a manifestation of pulmonary embolism (PE). The prognosis of this condition is largely dependent on the timing of diagnosis and treatment since early anticoagulation may modify the clinical consequences of PE and further loss of consciousness. In this article, we describe the case of a woman presenting with syncope, who showed at the admission a cardiac ultrasound highly specific cluster of signs of pulmonary embolism. This rapid non-invasive evaluation permitted to identify causal diagnosis and to speed up the clinical process.

Geriatric assessment units are among the several innovative responses by members of the US health care system to the many unmet needs facing elderly people who are frail and ill. Based on British models, these units are designed to improve the assessment of medical and psychosocial problems, to provide therapy and rehabilitation, and to determine optimal posttherapy placement at as high a level of independent functioning as possible. While generally similar, the structures and functions of various North American units vary considerably in such areas as type of patients accepted, amount of rehabilitation carried out and type of institutional setting (such as chronic-care hospital, acute-care hospital or outpatient facility). These differences have a bearing on outcomes. Though few experimental studies exist, impacts from the units appear to be substantial, and include more thorough diagnosis, higher levels of patient functioning and improved placement. Physicians can apply several of the lessons from these units to improve their care of elderly patients.

Introduction: The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of age on length of hospital stay, intensive care unit (ICU) stay, and mortality by comparing patients aged 65 years and older with patients younger than 65 years old. Materials and Method: Patients over 18 years of age who presented to anesthesia ICU were included in the study. The patients were divided into two groups according to their age (<65 years versus ≥65 years old). Demographic and clinical data were recorded retrospectively. Major outcome variables were length of ICU stay, hospital stay and mortality rates. Results: Four hundred and ninety three patient records were evaluated. At admission, elderly patients had more comorbidities, physiological problems and organ failures, and their hospital and ICU mortality rates were higher than that of younger patients. Drugs may interact with geriatric syndromes by playing a role in the continuation, recurrence or worsening of these conditions. Aim of this study is to assess the prevalence of interactions between drugs and three common geriatric syndromes (delirium, falls and urinary incontinence) among older adults in nursing home and home care in Europe. We performed a cross-sectional multicenter study among 4023 nursing home residents participating in the Services and Health for Elderly in Long-TERm care (Shelter) project and 1469 home care patients participating in the Identifying best practices for care-dependent elderly by Benchmarking Costs and outcomes of community care (IBenC) project. This paper endeavors to understand how an employee's work performance could be influenced by motivation, as the employee's work performance excels or fail to depend upon the motivation. The research aims to define and understand the role of motivation on employee performance. To determine the motivation's root cause in employee's efficiency various theories of motivations are studied and their correlation with employee performance is detailed. The findings justified the influence on employee psychology and its high influence on employee work efficiency and effectiveness. The research will prove beneficial for researchers to understand the concept of motivation in organizational behavior.

Background: Aging is a physiological
process and it is an inevitable part of life. According to
the Census of India, reports from 2001 and 2011 highlight
the increase in the elderly population from 70.6 million to
104 million. It will keep increasing, but that does not
necessarily mean they live healthier. Gender is one of the
significant factors in geriatrics, as elderly people of
different genders face unique challenges related to aging,
due to differences in biological, psychological, and social
experiences. Objective: To understand the difficulties
faced by the elderly based on gender perspectives in health
care. Methodology: Qualitative case study methodology
was applied in this study using an in-depth interview
guide and analyzed thematically. The researcher
interviewed 30 elderly people using a convenient
sampling method. Descriptive design was used to describe
the existing problems of elderly people such as lack of
health care, mental health issues, social security issues,
financial insecurity, and difficulty with everyday tasks
and mobility in Chennai based on their gender. Model: A
“bio-psychosocial model” was used to understand the
complex interactions between the factors and their impact
on gender differences in health outcomes. The current
study discussed gender differences and their influence on
biological, psychological, and social factors of elderly
people. Findings: The findings revealed biological factors
such as Cognitive function, and Longevity, psychological
factors such as Mental health disorders, coping with loss,
and social factors such as Social roles and expectations,
and social support networks of the elderly people based on
their gender. From the study, both the elderly men and
women face unique challenges related to their health.
Conclusion: This study focused on developing an
in-depth analysis to examine relevant issues, challenges,
and areas that require further attention from governments
on the impact of gender norms and roles in the realities
and experiences of elderly people.

A maioria dos donos de cães sabe que as grandes raças tendem a viver menos anos que as raças menores. A mortalidade precoce de cães de grande porte como o São Bernardo ou o Dogue Alemão encontra-se ligada a fatores genéticos que originam valores elevados da hormona IGF-1 no sangue, contribuindo para uma maior incidência de doenças como o cancro e cardiomiopatias. Em teoria, uma redução dos níveis de IGF-1 permitiria aumentar a longevidade e também a qualidade de vida destes cães. Esta hipótese tem sido explorada nos últimos anos, existindo já um protótipo de fármaco veterinário aprovado condicionalmente pela FDA que tem como alvo a IGF-1. O eventual sucesso deste fármaco antienvelhecimento constituirá sem dúvida uma excelente notícia para os donos mais apegados. Mais importante ainda, existe uma expetativa real de que poderá abrir a porta a fármacos que tenham efeitos equivalentes na longevidade humana.

Background: Older women constitute the fastest growing segment of Indian population. Postmenopausal phase is important and primary care physicians should be aware of common gynaecologic concerns and the potential impact of these on the function and quality of life of older women.Methods: A Prospective cross-sectional study was conducted over a period of one year on 100 postmenopausal women aged 65 years or above, who attended OPD or were hospitalised between November 2015 and October 2016.Results: Literacy rate was 30%. Study population was drawn equally from rural and urban population. Genital tract malignancy was the major gynecological disorder (32%), the commonest being the carcinoma cervix. Next in order was carcinoma ovary and carcinoma endometrium. This was followed by pelvic organ prolapse (26%) and urogenital infections (17%). This case report details a severe systemic failure following a coronavirus OC43 (HCoV-OC43) infection. A 78-year-old man, who had been vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2, was hospitalized for a flu-like infection and abdominal pain, revealing bilateral hemorrhagic adrenal infarctions with secondary adrenal failure. Imagery examinations showed adrenal necrosis and multiple ischemic cerebral strokes. A multiplex retro-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) became positive for HCoV-OC43. Cardio-vascular, infectious, and auto-immune exams were negative. A steroid medication finally allowed clinical improvement, and the diagnosis of reactional vasculitis was retained. An unknown pathogenicity of HCoV-OC43 is possible, considering that RT-PCR research is rarely made. The hypothesis of cross-reactions with SARS-CoV-2 antivaccine antibodies is also feasible. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic will leave a profound imprint in the collective memory of humanity. In Italy, Long-Term Care Facilities (LTCFs) have seen a disproportionally high number of deaths during and the COVID-19 pandemic and, certainly, they may be considered as its epicenter. Aiming to leave a symbolic mark of what the pandemic did in these care settings, we report on an outbreak in a single LTCF where, 53 out of 64 residents, resulted infected. Our narration is based on an epidemiological field investigation together with a calendar of passages through the stages of disease in the infected population. We found an age-gradient in all clinical and epidemiological variables explored such as symptoms onset, illness severity, recovery from symptoms and deaths. Geriatrics is the medical specialty that deals with physical, psychological, social and functional aspects of the older adult and represents a most authentic form of personalized medicine. As such, it is successfully performed through its cornerstone instrument, the comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA), which consistently shows its significant benefits since over 30 years.
