Home stay program is one of the branches of the tourism sector with great potential and can be developed. This study wasis to examine and analyse a number of important factors and to identifiy as the be a key contributor factors in the successful inauguration of the program in home stay focuseding at Kota Aur within the whole in 2016 year. The main thing is that coldto indicated the issues and challenges faced in the implementation of this home stay program. Other aspects to include the attraction of foreign tourists to stay at the homestay Kota Aur, learning and enjoying ist historical richeness value and architectural elements of the Malay traditional timeber houses as well as the analysis of local tourists contributing the economic value. Based on the findings of touriststourist's attendance throughout the year in 2016, a diagrammatic form data has been produced to show a clearer analysis and appropriate. This study is especially important to ensure the economic-sustainability of the implementation of the home stay Kota Aur program in addition to encourage themore arrival of tourists to stay at homestay Kota Aur in the future.

ABSTRAK Homestay sedang giat membangun sepanjang dekad ini menjadikannya sebagai salah satu produk pelancongan yang terbaik di Malaysia. Peningkatan jumlah homestay membuat pentadbiran homestay yang semakin sukar. Komunikasi di kalangan semua homestay adalah penting supaya maklumat yang boleh dicapai dengan berkesan. Tanpa alat komunikasi yang betul digunakan untuk berkomunikasi antara satu sama lain, banyak maklumat penting boleh terlepas menyebabkan sebahagian daripada homestay ketinggalan. Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengkaji alat komunikasi yang digunakan di kalangan pengendali homestay menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Temubual akan dijalankan dengan wakil-wakil Persatuan Pengusaha Inap Desa Sarawak (SHOA) iaitu presiden dan juga beberapa ahli-ahli persatuan itu. Penyelidik memilih informan dari pelbagai bahagian di Sarawak yang mewakili semua ahli-ahli persatuan itu. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa persatuan itu memang menggunakan alat komunikasi yang baik sebagai komunikasi bermakna untuk persatuan itu, namun ada beberapa masalah lain yang menyebabkan gangguan dalam komunikasi mereka.

Kajian Kepuasan Pengunjung Terhadap Kualiti Perkhidmatan Homestay Rh. Patrick Libau di Niah, Miri merupakan satu kajian mengenai kepuasan para pengunjung atau pelancong yang datang ke negeri Sarawak tidak kira pengunjung tempatan mahupun pengunjung dari luar negara terhadap kualiti perkhidmatan yang disediakan di homestay Rh. Patrick Libau di Niah, Miri.  Kajian yang dilakukan ini memfokuskan aspek jenis perkhidmatan yang disediakan oleh pihak homestay Rh. Patrick Libau kepada para pengunjung, kepuasan pengunjung terhadap kualiti perkhidmatan homestay Rh. Patrick Libau dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi motivasi pengunjung untuk datang semula ke homestay Rh. Patrick Libau. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah pengumpulan data iaitu kaedah kuantitatif. Melalui kaedah kuantitatif, borang soal selidik akan diedarkan kepada 300 orang responden di lokasi kajian iaitu di homestay Rh. Patrick Libau. Melalui kajian ini, pengkaji berharap agar kajian ini dapat membantu menjadi bahan rujukan kepada pengkaji pada masa akan datang.

Program Homestay adalah salah satu aktiviti pelancongan yang berasaskan kepada penglibatan masyarakat yang potensi untuk berkembang dan membangunkan masyarakat luar Bandar untuk menjayakan program ini, pihak yang terlibat khususnya pengusaha Homestay harus pastikan penerimaan dan keterlibatan masyarakat sekeliling untuk menerima kewujudan Homestay dan pada masa yang sama bermanfaat untuk mereka. Keterlibatan masyarakat setempat harus diberi perhatian supaya program Homestay dapat dikekalkan dan bersifat berterusan bagi jangka masa yang panjang. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti dan mengkaji penerimaan dan keterlibatan masyarakat setempat di Homestay kampung pueh.

Abstrak Program Homestay adalah satu bentuk penginapan alternatif yang ditawarkan kepada pelancong dan berupaya mendekatkan pelancong dengan keindahan semula jadi di beberapa buah tempat terpilih di Malaysia. Melalui Program ini, pelancong juga berpeluang untuk tinggal bersama dengan keluarga tuan rumah dan merasai sendiri pengalaman tuan rumah tersebut menjalankan kehidupan seharian mereka. Tujuan kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk mengkaji faktor kurangnya pendedahan terhadap penduduk setempat mengenai pengurusan homestay ini serta kepentingannya kepada penduduk setempat dan secara tidak langsung kepada negara. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah melalui temubual, pengedaran borang soal selidik dan juga pemerhatian. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan mendapati bahawa seramai 309 orang (95.1%) daripada 325 orang pernah mendengar tentang homestay namun hanya 24 orang (7.4%) orang sahaja yang benar-benar memahami konsep homestay yang sebenar. Hasil kajian yang diperolehi adalah berdasarkan analisa deskriptif, analisa kekerapan, analisa taburan silang dan analisa kebolehpercayaan. Kajian ini penting untuk kesedaran masyarakat tentang homestay di Sabah serta kepentingannya dalam ekonomi tempatan dan negara.

The linkage between tourism and rural sectors has generated significant synergies for the local development particularly on the local economic growth as well as giving impact to the nation's tourism related economic sector. A few previous studies have positively identified the significant impact of rural tourism (in certain case on organized homestay program) and improvement of rural economy. In relation to that; this paper basically presenting first on the attendance data of the foreign visitors coming to homestay Kota Aur particularly during the year of 2017 as well as touching on the local tourists as well. Thus, having consistant flow of tourists coming to this parrticular homestay, it generate quite an impact to the local ecomony especially tothe economy of the said village. Hence, the second and most important part of the study is the evaluation and the measurement of the economic impact study positively cover-up the social benefits to the homestay participants directly and to the supportive homestay groups indirectly.

Visitor Satisfaction Survey on Quality of Service Homestay Rh. Patrick Libau in Niah, Miri is a study on the satisfaction of the visitors or tourists coming to the state regardless of visitors both local and foreign visitors of the quality of services provided in homestay Rh. Patrick Libau in Niah, Miri. This study focuses on the types of services provided by the homestay Rh. Patrick Libau to the visitors, visitor satisfaction with the service quality homestay Rh. Patrick Libau and the factors that affect customer motivation to come back to the homestay Rh. Patrick Libau. Kahar (2008) stated that customer satisfaction can measure the extent of a service provided by the organization is able to meet customer expectations. This study also used data collection methods using questionnaires and respondents expecting about 318 people in the study area, namely in homestay Rh. Patrick Libau. Through this study, the researchers hope that this study can help a reference to researchers in the future.

This research paper aimed to explore the usage of electronic channels or Internet technology of local homestay entrepreneurs in Bang Khonthee District, Samut Songkram Province in their homestay business; and to investigate endogenous and exogenous factors that facilitated an adoption of e-marketing technology and innovation in their homestay business. The research was conducted with 35 local homestay entrepreneurs. An investigation of endogenous and exogenous factors that facilitated e-marketing adoption of the homestay entrepreneurs unveiled geographical and physical attributes as significant factors, whereas the homestay business competitive intensity in the area, knowledge about tourist attractions and availability of personal homestay business website were less significant factors. Implication of the research findings encompassed a discussion of the main findings and suggestions towards e-marketing in homestay establishments as the small enterprise.  Index Terms—Homestay entrepreneurship, e-marketing, technology and innovation.

Homestay development has become one of the most important agenda in Malaysia. The importance of homestay in tourism industry has drawn many scholars' interests to understand the factor that influences the visitors to stay in the homestay. The purpose of this research is to study the visitor satisfaction and factors influencing their decision to visit homestays in general, and Kanchong Darat Homestay in specific. To undertake this study, quantitative research methods were utilized. Data was gathered using questionnaires as data collection instrument in September 2015 at Kanchong Darat Homestay and analyzed using SPSS 17. Visitors were chosen at random by simple random sampling. The finding of the study shows that the quality of facilities and services have a positive impact on visitors' satisfaction to the homestay. Via the study, the homestay was also found to be in need of stakeholder action to improve visitor satisfaction, enhance the infrastructure, safety, and services. This study found that the marketing campaign for the homestay was very weak and needed improvement. Based on the research findings, it is highly recommended that homestay should be promoted aggressively in collaboration with government campaigns and private sector outsourcing activities. Moreover, facilities and the quality of services must be upgraded through continuous improvement and training, and aspects such as security, awareness, communication with foreign visitors, and enhance the infrastructure must be improved. This study could be used as a guideline and encourage other researchers for further studies.

This paper attempts to examine the effects of perceived value on the satisfaction of tourists staying at a community-based homestay. The setting for this study was the Kampung Beng homestay, located in the newly recognized Lenggong Valley World Heritage Site (WHS) in Malaysia. Perceived value was assessed formatively by way of a multi-dimensional scale which was inclusive of functional, emotional, and social value dimensions. The findings show a strong positive effect for perceived value on the satisfaction of homestay guests. In addition, the results demonstrate the acceptability of perceived value as an integrated construct formed by the dimensions identified. This study makes a significant theoretical and methodological contribution to both the homestay and perceived value literature by assessing perceived value as an integrated formative construct and by examining the overall perceived value of homestay guests on their satisfaction.

Rural areas have quite unique opportunities to attract tourists by building relationships between them and their cultural, historical, ethnic and geographical roots. However, currently the existing homestay has not been included into tourist' package products, so that it can become a tourist attraction for tourists. This phenomenon causes existing homestays to only be used as accommodation or accommodation facilities. In fact, homestays can also offer a variety of interesting activities related to the culture and social life of the local community. Therefore, in developing a homestay it is very important to involve the local community as a tourist attraction. The purpose of this study is to identify the potential of the Cibodas village as an educat ional tourist attraction. In addition, to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges of developing homestay in Cibodas tourism village as an educational empowerment attraction based on community empowerment as well. The last one is to formulate a homestay development strategy. In order for this research could be conducted thoroughly and achieves goals that are in accordance to the expectations of the researcher, multi-method approach of qualitative and quantitative method will be applied.

This study aims to review the Motivation Factor Analysis of tourist to Homestay Kampung Melayu Tebakang Serian, Sarawak. The analytical review includes motivational factors not considered in terms of economic, social, cultural and environmental. The approach of this research is through face to face surveys. A total of 370 respondents consisting of homestay, tourists and residents to the Homestay Kampung Tebakang Melayu, Serian, Sarawak who participated in this study. Through this study, analysis of motivation factors using quantitative methods were used to examine factors tourist attraction and repulsion regarded as the source of backwardness Homestay Kampung Tebakang Melayu, Serian. The results of the study will find there are various factors that influence the success of a homestay including leadership, promotion of entrepreneurial skills and an agreement between the residents. Thus, this study helps a homestay identify advantages, weaknesses, opportunities and threats as an impetus to further develop and benefit the local population.

Abstrak Kajian ini membincangkan mengenai tahap penerimaan masyarakat dari aspek pengetahuan dalam pembangunan, keterlibatan masyakat setempat dan penambahbaikan dalam pelaksanaan pengurusan pelancongan Homestay di Kampung Pueh. Penglibatan masyarakat sebagai " satu bentuk tindakan sukarela yang melalui individu mengambil peluang dan memikul tanggungjawab kemasyarakatan. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kualitatif dan kuantitatif untuk mengetahui penerimaan, keterlibatan masyarakat dan penambahbaikan di Homestay tersebut. Program Homestay adalah salah satu aktiviti pelancongan yang berasaskan kepada penglibatan masyarakat yang potensi untuk berkembang dan membangunkan masyarakat luar Bandar untuk menjayakan program ini, pihak yang terlibat khususnya pengusaha Homestay harus pastikan penerimaan dan keterlibatan masyarakat sekeliling untuk menerima kewujudan Homestay dan pada masa yang sama bermanfaat untuk mereka. Tourists' motivations, quality perceptions, satisfaction and loyalty are of prominence in contemporary academic research. Structural relationships among above is of less investigated. This study strives to analyze the structural relationships of homestay tourists' motivation, quality perception, satisfaction and loyalty in Sri Lankan context. Based on literature review, five hypotheses were proposed for the study. A total of two hundred and eighty four homestay visitors were randomly surveyed from the nine homestay zones of the Island. Using SmartPLS, Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling was applied to investigate the relationships. Motivation was endogenous construct where satisfaction, quality perceptions and loyalty were exogenous constructs. The proposed theoretical model with five hypotheses was supported and the managerial and policy implications for homestay in Sri Lanka are discussed in line with twenty four latent variables identified in the final model.

Community based tourism is a part of tourism that received many visitors every years from different country. Community engagement is important to drive the tourism and are used to determint the succes of destination. This research is conducted using qualitative method through observation and interviews to get information and data regarding to the participation of the community in homestay Kampung Mongkos.

ABSTRAK Kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk mengetahui tanggapan masyarakat terhadap pembangunan wetland di kawasan tersebut. Pengkaji juga menganalisis tentang tanggapan penduduk setempat terhadap pembangunan wetland. Bagi mendapatkan maklumat yang lebih terperinci mengenai kajian ini, pengkaji bekerjasama dengan pihak Pelancongan Johor Tenggara dalam mendapatkan maklumat mengenai wetland. Pengkaji telah mengedar borang soal selidik untuk mencapai objektif kajian. Hasil kajian menunjukkan ramai yang masih tidak mengetahui tentang wetland di kawasan tersebut. Kajian ini membantu pengurusan pelancongan Johor Tenggara dalam mempromosikan kawasan tersebut.

Desa wisata Pentingsari adalah salah satu desa wisata andalan di Yogyakarta. Desa telah terbukti berjalan dengan baik dan dipelihara kelestariannya sejak 2008. Pelestarian desa ini dimungkinkan melalui partisipasi masyarakat untuk berpartisipasi dan terlibat dalam kegiatan pariwisata desa. Salah satu yang mendukung keberhasilan kegiatan ekowisata adalah homestay. Terkait dengan industri pariwisata, homestay dapat dipahami sebagai dua hal: sebagai obyek wisata dan sebagai akomodasi wisata. Desa Pentingsari memiliki homestay permanen milik warga yang sudah berjalan dengan baik. The development of tourism is expected to bring benefits to the community. Yogyakarta as one of the tourist destinations has developed a range of alternatives that can be offered to travelers. Pentingsari tourist village is one of the mainstay tourism village in Yogyakarta. The village has been proven to run well and maintained its continuity since 2008. Preservation of the village was made possible through the participation of citizens to participate and engage in their village tourism activities. One that supports the success of ecotourism activities is homestay. In relation to the tourism industry, homestay can be described as two things: as a tourist attraction and as a tourist accommodation. Pentingsari village already has homestays which are village houses that already run well. This research seeks homestay relevance as a form of citizen participation in the rural tourism industry while maintaining the conservation of the environment. The methods used is participatory research action by field observation, in depth interviews and historical documents tracing. This is to determine how much the role of citizens to preserve the environment before and after becoming a tourist village. These results indicate a model of rural tourism development

Homestay is being developed throughout the decades making it as one of the best tourism product in Malaysia. The increasing number of homestay is making the administration of the homestay is getting harder. Communication among all the homestay is vital so that information could be reached effectively. Without a proper communication tools used to communicate among each other, lots of important information could be missed out causing some of the homestays to be left out. This research is conducted to study the communication tools used among the homestay operators using qualitative approach. Interviews will be conducted with the representatives of Sarawak Homestay Operator Association (SHOA) which are the president as well as some of the members of the association. The researcher chose informants from various areas of Sarawak representing all the members of the association. The research shows that the association is indeed using a good communication tools as the communication means for the association, however there are some other problems that causes interference in their communication.

Home stay industry is one of the branch of tourism industry and it has gained a place in the community and is seen as one of the socioeconomic industry's potential to generate income for the population, particularly in the rural areas. This study aims to access and analyse the relevant demographics of tourist's especially foreign tourists coming to stay at home stay called Kota Aur village in the state of Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. The paper to include details on the data on the origin of the tourists, the country whwre they coming from and the status and career of these tourists; come to stay at the homestay. The study also to analyse some of the aspects that contribute to economic income generator to the Kota Aur homestay program participants. Data collected through the tourists' record and exported to the diagram form for the descriptive analysis. This study is derived to determine the factors in attracting the tourists thus create merit attention in particular to attract tourists who come from abroad to ensure the economic sustainability of Kota Aur homestay as most of the foreign tourists received who came from different backgrounds and different cultures; thus experiencing the local culture.
