Proyek kolaborasi pengembangan Korean Fighter Experiment/Indonesian Fighter Experiment (KFX/IFX) Joint Development antara Indonesia dan Korea Selatan dibangun atas dasar keinginan Korea Selatan dan Indonesia untuk membangun kemandirian industri pertahanan di tengah keberadaan negara-negara besar dalam laju pengembangan alat utama sistem persenjataan dunia. Proyek ini pada prosesnya mengalami hambatan dan tarik ulur di antara kedua negara. Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk menunjukkan bagaimana hambatan tersebut dapat terjadi. Artikel ini menggunakan kerangka teoretis ekonomi kolaborasi dalam proses akusisi pertahanan secara makro. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif untuk menganalisis secara deskriptif relasi Military-Industrial Complex (MIC) dalam proyek KFX/IFX. Hasil yang dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah pemetaan relasi antara Indonesia-Korea Selatan-Amerika Serikat sebagai segitiga besi pertahanan internasional dalam proyek KFX/IFX.

Une opération de monitoring des médias a été conduite en République Centrafricaine en avril et mai 2014 par l'instance d'autorégulation des médias en RCA afin de disposer d'informaions sur le comportement des médias pendant la crise actuelle.
Cette operation a bénéficié de l'appui d'Internews et de l'Institut Panos Europe, opérateurs pour les principaux donneurs internationaux en RCA: USAID, l'Union Européenne et la France.
Le document essaie de donner les éléments permettant de comprendre le rôle des médias dans cette crise et dans les processus de contruction de la paix et dans la transition démocratique: les élements factuels et politiques sur la crise actuelle, une vue d'ensemble du secteur médiatique centrafricain, les principaux du monitoring des médias et des recommandations.

Here I discuss the genre of the Muslim sitcom and analyze two characters in ethnic sitcoms that have been explicitly marked as Muslim in German television sitcoms: Yağmur in "Alle lieben Jimmy", and Fatma in "Türkisch für Anfänger". I interpret these teenage girls as representatives of 'Islam light' – an 'ideal form of Islam,' according to Hamed Abdel-Samad  – and examine to what extent these symbolic Muslim counter-figures reflect current debates on Islam’s contested place in German society.

This article, written in Nepali language, reviews media coverage of Nepal and abroad during the aftermath of earthquake in Nepal on April 25, 2015, and briefly  describes about the #GoHomeIndianMedia campaign, fake news reported by Western media, and some over emotional coverage of  Nepali media.

Media content in the Central African crisis: an overview and solutions for further peace-building and governance interventions
A specific media monitoring operation has been conducted by the Central African Self regulatory body to get information on the behaviour of media and journalists during the conflict.
This operation has been supported by Internews and Institut Panos Europe, operators for the main donors in the CAR, USAID, the European Union and France.
The document provides elements to understand the role of media in the crisis and the role that they may have in  peace-building processes and the democratic transition: key elements on the current crisis, an overview of the Central African media sector, main findings of the specific media monitoring and recommendations.

Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja sposobów, za pomocą których polscy PR-owcy dokonywali w ostatnim roku pomiaru efektów własnych działań, oraz prezentacja powszechności stosowania konkretnych rozwiązań. Przeprowadzona została także analiza porównawcza w oparciu o dostępne badania dotyczące narzędzi wykorzystywanych przez konsultantów PR. Podczas Kongresu Profesjonalistów Public Relations w 2019 roku przeprowadzono ankietę audytoryjną, w której próbę badawczą tworzyli przedstawiciele różnego typu organizacji działających na polskim rynku, łącznie 253 osoby. Analizy wykazały, że korzystanie z szeroko rozumianego monitoringu mediów stanowi kluczowe wsparcie dla osób zajmujących się na co dzień budowaniem wiarygodnych relacji z otoczeniem. Odnotowania wymaga fakt, że branża PR nadal jest silnie przywiązana do stosowania wskaźnika AVE, mimo że zarówno światowe, jak i rodzime organizacje branżowe dążą do ograniczenia jego roli w pomiarze efektów działań public relations.

In this paper, we describe a system that semantically annotates streams of reports about transnational criminal gangs in order to automatically produce models of the gangs' membership and activities in the form of a semantic wiki. A gang ontology and semantic inferencing are used to annotate the reports and supplement entity and relationship annotations based on the local document context. Reports in the datastream are annotated for reliability and credibility in the proof-of-concept system.

The aim of this study is to quantitatively assess perception of protests around COVID-19 in Germany from the late July till the end of August 2020 in the Internet media by infodemiological approach. To this end we investigate Google searches, Twitter and Telegram posts, and selection of news articles via EventRegistry. We focus on narratives around Berlin Demonstrations on August 1st and August 29th, 2020. Using media intelligence we spot trends, analyze relevant topics over a longer time span and create sociolinguistic landscapes targeting Quer-denken and QAnon movements and other actors such as AfD, SPD, and Green political parties and Antifa. Although the dominant actors of the protest are on the far-right political spectrum, we demonstrate (based on network analysis) that left-wing activists could both sympathize with (e.g. some liberal greens) and oppose (e.g. Antifa) the protest. Although we observe a constant interest in the protest movements in traditional media, their popularity on social media is growing (for Querdenken faster than for QAnon). The revealed insights shed light on social dynamics in the context of such major disruptive events as COVID-19 pandemic and could serve as a basis for optimization of risk awareness campaigns by the authorities.

News media coverage of the Asia-Pacific region in Aotearoa/New Zealand has been traditionally limited and parochial, apart from Polynesia which has been regarded as an extension of the country with a significant Pacific Islander urban and rural population in the largest city of Auckland. Indonesia and the Philippines, New Zealand’s closest neighbours among Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), rarely have serious coverage or current affairs analysis. When Asia-Pacific reporting does get some exposure, it is often reflecting an Australian perspective rather than Asian, or even New Zealand. Few specialist political and current affairs media exist in the country and it is left to small special interest news services such as the state-funded public broadcaster Radio New Zealand International and the independent Scoop, both in the capital of Wellington, to provide critical coverage. This paper provides a case study of a small university-based media freedom advocacy and analysis service that has reported media developments in the region for almost two decades.Pacific Media Watchwas founded as an independent, non-profit and non-government network by two journalism academics. Its genesis was the jailing of two Taimi ‘o Tonga journalists, ‘Ekalafi Moala and Filokalafi ‘Akau’ola, and a ‘whistleblowing’ pro-democracy member of Parliament in Tonga, ‘Akilisi Pohiva, for alleged contempt in September 1996. They were later freed by the Pacific kingdom’s Supreme Court which ruled their imprisonment was unconstitutional. PMW played an important role in the campaign to free the three men, including organising an international petition seeking their release. Since then, the agency has developed a strategy to challenge issues of parochial news-generation by reporting on the region’s media developments, including Indonesia and the Philippines in particular. At times it has also reported on Burma, China, Thailand and Vietnam. Ethics, media freedom, industry ownership, cross-cultural diversity and media plurality have featured in the service’s reports. PMW has also been involved in reporting coups d’etat, civil conflict, climate change, health, social activism and media independence. The paper examines the PMW project, history and purpose as a catalyst for activist journalists, educator journalists, citizen journalists and critical journalists in a broader trajectory of Asia-Pacific protest.

Feminist news researchers have long argued that in the macho culture of most newsrooms, journalists’ daily decisions about what is newsworthy remain firmly based on masculine news values. As such, issues and topics traditionally seen to be particularly relevant to women tend to be pushed to the margins of the news where the implicit assumption is that they are less important than those which interest men. In so doing, men’s views and voices are privileged over women’s, thereby contributing to the ongoing secondary status of women’s participation as citizens. In this article, we draw upon data we collected from the UK and the Republic of Ireland as part of the larger, 108-country study, which comprised the 2010 Global Media Monitoring Project (GMMP). Media monitoring is an important method to inform public health and prevention services about emerging health issues, such as new psychoactive substances (NPS). This study assessed the portrayal of NPS in online Hungarian media in 2015 using qualitative content analysis. Hungarian online media considers the dealer to be the main cause of drug use, which is portrayed as a problem for youth, poor people, minorities, and rural populations. The point of view of the articles is externalized, and so is the solution offered by them. From the perspective of the police or using a biomedical approach, the articles suggest that drug use is an individual (someone else's) problem, and the perspectives of insiders (such as users or addiction treatment professionals) are absent. The media portrays low socioeconomic background and the hopelessness of disadvantaged rural and mostly minority populations as the roots of NPS use, and misses the pressing incapability of health care emergency and drug treatment services to cope with the problem. The dominant portrayal of police raids is rarely counterbalanced by voices of active or recovering drug users or professionals in addiction treatment and harm reduction, who could offer a systematic solution to the apparent rapid spread of NPS use.
