Non-thermal plasma application to cancer cells is known to induce oxidative stress, cytotoxicity and indirect immunostimulatory effects on antigen presenting cells (APCs). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the responses of two leukemic cell lines—Jurkat T lymphocytes and THP-1 monocytes—to NTP-generated reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS). Both cell types depleted hydrogen peroxide, but THP-1 cells neutralized it almost immediately. Jurkat cells transiently blunted the frequency-dependent increase in nitrite concentrations in contrast to THP-1 cells, which exhibited no immediate effect. A direct relationship between frequency-dependent cytotoxicity and mitochondrial superoxide was observed only in Jurkat cells. Resumen —El presente articulo se basa en un estudio sobre las Extensiones de Seguridad del Sistema de Nombres de Dominio (DNSSEC) aplicado en comunidades virtuales de aprendizaje de las instituciones de educacion superior, cuyo objetivo es validar la autenticidad y la integridad de los datos del Sistema de Nombres de Dominio (DNS) mediante cadenas de confianza. En este artículo se presenta una propuesta de sistema videowall, tanto con distribución uniforme como disforme, formado por dispositivos de bajo coste, personalizable y configurable dinámica y remotamente vía Web. Se han analizado los sistemas de videowall existentes y las diferentes posibilidades en cuanto a su desarrollo con dispositivos de bajo coste. Se ha optado por la utilización de Raspberry Pi como dispositivo hardware y OMXPlayer como software reproductor multimedia. La sincronización entre los diferentes reproductores se consigue mediante el uso de una señal de reloj común y el intercambio de mensajes de control entre dispositivos, así como adoptando técnicas (agresivas y suavizadas) de ajuste de los procesos de reproducción. El sistema incluye una interface web muy amigable que facilita su gestión y control de manera remota.

PrimPol is a human primase/polymerase specialized in re-starting stalled forks by repriming beyond lesions such as pyrimidine dimers, and replication-perturbing structures including G-quadruplexes and R-loops. Unlike most conventional primases, PrimPol proficiently discriminates against ribonucleotides (NTPs), being able to start synthesis using deoxynucleotides (dNTPs), yet the structural basis and physiological implications for this discrimination are not understood. In silico analyses based on the three-dimensional structure of human PrimPol and related enzymes enabled us to predict a single residue, Tyr100, as the main effector of sugar discrimination in human PrimPol and a change of Tyr100 to histidine to boost the efficiency of NTP incorporation. Las extensiones de Seguridad para DNS (DNSSEC) proveen autenticación del origen e integridad de los datos intercambiados a través del protocolo DNS. Las mejoras que ofrece DNSSEC radican principalmente en el uso de una jerarquía de “firmas criptográficas” que permite proteger el flujo de información intercambiado entre Servidores Autoritativos, Servidores DNS Recursivos y Clientes DNS. En el presente trabajo se muestra la perspectiva desde un cliente DNS, es decir, como es el comportamiento y que costo en términos de tiempos de respuesta y carga de tráfico, de un servidor DNS Recursivo que debe realizar validaciones DNSSEC. The aim of this study was to assess adenosine infusion via a cannula in the back of the hand compared with central venous access to achieve peak hyperemia during fractional flow reserve (FFR). Adenosine is often used to induce maximal hyperemia when measuring FFR. The gold standard is continuous infusion via a large central vein; however, the increasing use of the transradial route for angiography makes it desirable to have an alternative route for adenosine. Peripheral venous access is frequently obtained in the hand, but concern exists as to whether adenosine delivery from this site can achieve adequate vasodilation for accurate FFR measurement. Audio communication on the public Internet suffers from not synchronized word clocks of the involved audio devices. The resulting clock drift leads to audio dropouts, which is typically compensated by a sample rate conversion (SRC) in standard telecommunication systems. This, however, does not fulfill the requirements of a high-quality audio system, in which all devices share one and the same word clock. Professional IP based network audio systems such as DANTE or AVB with their respective clock synchronization techniques have so been limited to LAN usage, where network jitter and loss have negligible importance regarding the required accuracy in the dimension of several nanoseconds. In a WAN, however, jitter in the millisecond dimension would lead to unacceptable measurement errors for the intended clock synchronization.
