This paper proposed design and implementation of trucks tracking system using GPS based on semantic web for vehicle tracking in real time. In-vehicle unit and a tracking server is used. The information is transmitted to tracking server using GSM/GPRS modem on GSM network by using SMS or using direct TCP/IP connection with tracking server through GPRS. The received SMS contain longitude and latitude that are used to locate the vehicle on the Google maps. Tracking server also has GSM/GPRS modem that receives vehicle location information via GSM network and stores this information in database. One of the major problems currently facing satellite-based positioning is the atmospheric refraction of the GPS signal caused by the troposphere. The tropospheric effect is much more pronounced at the equatorial region due to its hot and wet conditions. This affects the GPS signal due to the variability of the refractive index, which in turn affects the positional accuracy, especially in the height components. This paper presents a study conducted in the Southern Peninsular Malaysia located at the equatorial region, to investigate the impact of tropospheric delay on GPS height variation. signals. This paper proposes development of an android app to improve the transportation services for bus rental companies that lift Taibah University students. It intends to reduce the waiting time for bus students, thereby to stimulate sharing of updated information between the bus drivers and students. The application can run only on android devices. It would inform the students about the exact time of arrival and departure of buses on route. This proposed app would specifically be used by students and drivers of Taibah University. Any change in the scheduled movement of the buses would be updated in the software. Regular alerts would be sent in case of delays or cancelation of buses. Bus locations and routes are shown on dynamic maps using Google maps. The application is designed and tested where the users assured that the application gives the real time service and it is very helpful for them.

Logistics management is an important aspect in real-time applications. Some of the aspects like a delay in delivery, identification of freight vehicles in real time, cargo overload, misplacement is some of the issues facing logistics management. The Global Positioning System monitors the position of the cargo according to its latitude and longitude positions. The GSM/GPRS module makes the administrator's location easier. The RFID system enables cargo to be tracked and placed correctly. The Open Source hardware makes the processing and orderly management of goods in the webserver easier. If more goods are placed in the cargo, the cargo may not move or reach due to overload in the cargo at a specified time. The use of a weight sensor eliminates the overload of goods in the cargo. This system is also used for security purposes as a regular update of the location on the web server, and cargo data are updated using open source hardware in real time. Integrating IoT, RFID, GPS, GSM/GPRS as well as open source hardware results in good results. This system also eliminates dynamic updates of cargo data and delays in delivery of goods, ensures the positioning of freight vehicles and eliminates overload of cargo.

Local area network (LAN) as Bluetooth, WiFi and ZigBee are well established technology. The biggest problem with many LAN is the battery consumption and short ranges link budgets. LoRa is a new, private, unlicensed and spread spectrum modulation technique which allows sending low rates at extremely long ranges with minimal power consumption. More importantly, there is no access fee associated with this type of wireless technology. The main idea behind this work is to conduct performance and capability analysis of a currently available LoRa transceiver. We develop a location monitoring system using LoRa and global positioning system (GPS) module and we analyze the detectable range of its data, its battery consumption as well as received signal strength indicator (RSSI). Our deployment experiment demonstrates that the system is able to detect the transmitted data within 290 meters of distances.
