Prophet Noah

Why the Creation Week reflection of Psalm 104? Is this reflection merely general? If it merely is general, then why is this psalm's form entirely, and exuberantly, autobiographical? It’s three companion psalm’s, Psalm 103, 105, and 106, are largely biographical and communal in orientation, and seem originally to have been exhortative rather than expressive. In fact, the first-personal form of Psalm 104 is one of the most deep and intense of that of any text in the Bible. Some deny that any of Psalm 104 was authored in mind of the Flood, and this denial is based on an effectively pedestrian approach to this psalm. Reinforcing this denial is that this psalm’s only conceivable *explicit* reference to the Flood is comprised of a geo-physical description, rather than that either to the Flood by name or to the *fact* of a memory of the Flood by those persons who survived the Flood on the ark. Even the pro-Flood rebuttals to this denial have tended to frame the entire idea of the Flood as merely the Flood's geophysical dimension, leaving this psalm’s clear human element out of this psalm’s own equation. Therefore, the attempts on both sides of this Flood-reference controversy over Psalm 104 has tended to answer the other side by focusing almost exclusively on some combination of 1) that geophysical description of vs.6-9; (2) plausible Biblical and extra-Biblical sources to confirm or disconfirm a Flood view of that description; and 3) the original Hebrew of that description. This combination fails to account for the total issue: (A) whether any or all of Psalm 104 was authored in mind of the Flood, and (B) why any or all of Psalm 104 might or might not be authored in mind of the Flood. Therefore, it conceivably is erroneous to view this psalm’s author therein as psalming from anything less than a most extraordinary frame of mind and reference. In order to establish, for all sides, as to whether this psalm likely does, or likely does not, in any way reference the Flood, the entire psalm, not just its first several verses, must be ascertained thereto. The present paper attempts to forward that issue.

German explorers have visited the summit of Mount Cudi since 1899. Unique photographs were taken and much fascinating information has been assembled. Although I did not visit the site so far myself, I was able to explore the summit by using Google Earth images, through which I indeed managed to put together many important pieces of the jigsaw puzzle on the possible location of what may actually remain of Noah's ark.

Those who use the text to advance a descent into Hell with a proclamation to fallen angels have insisted on reading a very controversial first century teaching into what they deem a catechistic text which has no other support aside from other equally obscure passages which they interpret in its light. To interpret this passage as a double illustration of those who have suffered for the sake of righteousness and yet triumphed, fits perfectly with the flow of the passage, is grammatically possible, and is historically possible. To those about to face fiery trials for the sake of the testimony of Christ, Jesus and Noah are trophies of suffering. Jesus rose up from death in a better state, having brought as His reward, countless souls, before God. Noah, overcame the difficulties of the task ahead of him, endured misunderstanding, mockery, and societal abuse, and through his efforts was vindicated when the rains came—he lived, while his opponents died.

Tevrata göre yüz yetmiş sene yaşayan bir şahsiyettir. (Yine Tevratta Tekvin Kitabına göre normal biyolojik bilinçli insan ömrü yüz yirmi senedir.) Tarih ve Biyoloji bize gösteriyor ki 170 sene yaşayan insan olmamıştır. Nuh'un 950 sene yaşanılan ömrü ise beşeri bireysel ömür değil, dönemsel bir sürecin ifadesidir. Aşağıdaki kısa yazıya bakınız. Evet Arap, Yahudi, Süryani ve Arami milletleri üç bin yıldır İslam denilen bu dengeli, barıştırıcı ve  Mitolojik üslupla anlatılan inanç ile kendilerini korumuşlardır. Bir din ve medeniyet tecrübesi olan bu İbrahimî gelenek onları birleştirmiştir..  Kur'an bu İbrahim’in kollektif şahsiyetini İlk Müslüman olarak takdim ediyor. (En'am suresi)

Peki ilk Müslüman ne demek?

Şu demek: İnsanlık vahşetten kurtulup medenileşince ya tam fizikçi veya tam metafizikçi ya tam maddeci veya tam maneviyatçı oluyordu. Belli bir dönem sonra fizik ve metafiziği, madde ve manayi, dünya ve ahireti beraber yaşayan ve  Sümer, Akad ve Mısır medeniyetini bir arada götüren bir dönem yaşadı. İşte İslam bu zıtlar arasında yapılan denge ve barış demektir. Birlik Sahibi ve Sonsuz bir Allah'a iman demektir: (Tevhid) Ve Putperestlikten Kurtuluş Çağına geçiş demektir.

İslam Dini, ahlak ve ibadetler olarak, Kur'anda anlatıldığı üzere  Akad medeniyeti döneminde yaşanılan bu birlik inancının çağdaş versiyonudur. Yeni bir din değildir. (Rum, Hac, Al-i İmran sureleri.)

Evet, Sümer; Akad ve Mısır'da din, tarih, felsefe, bilim ve edebiyat mitolojik dil ile içiçe anlatılırdı. Yunandaki gibi Felsefe ve Tarih Mitolojiden ayrılmamıştı. Nitekim fen bilimleri ve belgeli tarih, ancak 1800’lü yıllarda Yunan ve Roma Felsefesinden ve Mitolojisinden ayrılabildi..

Akadların bir kolu olan Yahudiler, mitolojik üslupla anlatılan ve tamamen metafizik, arketip ve vahiy olan bu literatürü ezberliyorlardı. Onlar Milattan önce yedi yüz yıllarda Babil'e sürgün edilince o literatür kayboldu. Nihayet Üzeyir (Ezra) (AS) sürgün sonrası hepsini vahiy ile yeniden yazdı; Yahudi milleti  bir daha dirilmiş oldu. Demek Yahudilerde ilk peygamber Üzeyir (AS)’dır. Ve onun için Yahudiler O’na Allah'ın Oğlu dediler. (Tevbe Suresi)

Demek geçen haftalarda size gelen Adem ile ilgili üç yazıda gösterildiği üzere; Adem, şahs-ı manevi ve arketip olduğu gibi NUH da İbrahim de ve Musa da arketip, şahs-ı manevi ve metafizik kişiliklerdir. Tarihi düşünce ve dönemlerin ifadesidirler, tarihi şahsiyetler değiller. Mesela Nuh vahyin ifadesidir, İbrahim tevhid ifadesidir, Musa şeriat ve Yasa demektir. Harun velayet ve maneviyat demektir.

Bu manevi şahsiyetlerin tarihte bireysel kişi olarak yaşadıklarına dair hiçbir arkeolojik veriye ve belgeye rastlanılmamıştır.

Halbuki Üzeyirden sonraki Yahudi peygamberleri tarihte varlar. İslam Dini diyalektiği esas alıp bizi akla ve bilime yönlendiriyor. İslam Dünyası Gazaliden beri bu emri ihmal ettiği için geri kalmıştır ve dinsizliğe tam cevap verememiştir.

Evet maalesef iki bin yedi yüz yıldan fazla süredir insanlığı aydınlatan Tevrat ve iki bin üç yüz yıldan beri insanlığı gerçeğe yönlendiren Aristo felsefesi önemli iki yanılgıya da sebep oldular. Tevrat tarih sanıldı, Yahudi milleti kıblesini şaşırdı. Ve Ortaçağda Kilise dört yüz yıl boyunca bilim ehli ile savaştı.

Ve bu bilim asrında bile İslam Dünyası  Aristo'yu bilim ve Kur'an ile Tevrat'ı tarih sandığından bir türlü aydınlanamıyor.

Eğer bu iki yanılgı kalksa ve fen bilimleri ile belgeli tarih esas alınsa dinin de bilimin de gerçekliği ve anlamı ortaya çıkar. Antisemitizm ve din-bilim kavgası sona erer . Varlığın ve hayatın anlamı ortaya çıkar.

Ve hepsi bil-ittifak İbrahim diye tarihte bir şahsiyete rast gelmiş değiliz, hiçbir bilgi ve belge bu konuda bulunmuş değil, diye söylediler.

Q. As far as what I read from your book, you believe in evolution and think it goes along with religion?

Yes. The idea of Evolution is not in conflict with the belief in Creation of Species. Today evolution has gotten past the point of being considered merely a theory1. It is a scientific subject, and it is compatible with holy scripts. I can show you the evidence with close to 200 scientific and religious statements to prove it. By employing evolution, God demonstrates the miraculously economic operation of his system, his art and his might. The universe was created to produce meaning, to make sense and this is only possible with evolution. Simply put, evolution means that nothing comes to being suddenly. Life unfolds slowly and this is its most important characteristic. If we look carefully at the evolution in creation we see that it is a program, a plan if you will. For instance, an egg would not become a chick even if I hold it in the palm of my hand for 40 years; but, in the ecological system, which can be called “a palm of God's hand”, 40 million chicks are born every second. Religious scholars should not confuse the two.

Hans Thoma aus Landshut ist am 30. Januar 2017 im Alter von 93 Jahren verstorben. Er war einer der wichtigsten Erforscher des Arche-Noah-Berges Cudi Dagh im Südosten der Türkei. Aufgrund der fragilen politischen Verhältnisse in der Gegend waren insgesamt nur wenige Menschen in den letzten 120 Jahren auf dem Gipfel des Bergs. Hans Thoma war einer von ihnen. Er führte 1983 eine Handvoll Gefährten zu diesem Berg, nachdem das eigentliche Ziel der Expedition, der Berg Ararat, bereits bewältigt war.

No doubt, one of the most talked about films so far this year is Darren Aronofsky’s “Noah.” The film has gotten its share of rave reviews, though there are those who have major problems with it.  Most reviewers are bent out of shape because Noah and his family are presented as protecting plant and animal life while Cain and his brood are eating animals and polluting the earth resulting in a gargantuan climate change—THE BIBLICAL FLOOD!  You will be amazed to find that Aronofsky has interpreted the Book of Genesis quite accurately on this point [and on many others as well] such that he puts his macho critics, including irate biblical fundamentalists, to shame.
 
I went out to view "Noah" last night. I discovered that Noah and his family have a remarkable respect for the natural environment and for the other creatures. This was a pleasant surprise for me.  So I began to read the reviewers. . . .
