This paper makes a synthesis of the main aims and results of Augustine of Hippo's "De trinitate", as fas as Trinitarian theology is concerned.

This article discusses the position of Augustine towards the destiny of the soul after death, focusing in particular on the different between temporary and purifying punishments. The article argues that this issue needs to be placed in the more general context of Augustine’s reflections on the problem of Evil and on the role of baptism for the salvation of the soul (document in two files).
