The purpose of this study was to validate an instrument for quality assurance of teacher induction programs. It was applied research with a qualitative-quantitative approach and interpretative paradigm, which sample was not probabilistic for convenience. The instrument was constructed based on available bibliography and validated by expert judgment through a Likert scale with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.86. The 14 criteria relevance had an average approval of 80.6% vs. 3.6% of disapproval. In conclusion, the E-Tip is a valid and reliable instrument to assess teacher induction programs in any type of school.

Designing the training of future teachers through holistic and interdisciplinary visions is vital to developing coherent contents, epistemologies, and methodologies that put Education for Sustainability into action. The research presented here analyzes the teaching guides from the curriculum for the Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Teaching at the Universitat de València (Spain). A collaborative study on the inclusion of sustainability in a selected sample of teaching guides was conducted from an Action/Research methodological approach. The study includes an analysis of the competences identified by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and their expected contribution to the 17 SDGs in the United Nations 2030 Agenda. The results of this research point to the need to promote collaborative work across disciplines in order to engage teachers in the transition to sustainability and encourage them to participate in the research process.

Este artículo ofrece una visión general de las condiciones de trabajo docente en el sector público de la República de El Salvador.
Como consideraciones iniciales se hace un recorrido histórico de la profesión, pasando por las tres etapas principales que
caracterizan su formación inicial: el empirismo, la normalización y el paso a las universidades. Luego se presenta el marco legal en el
cual se encuentra hoy el magisterio, se describen las características que tienen los maestros en el sector público, su formación inicial,
especialidades, estructura salarial, el empleo y empleabilidad. Por último, se analizan los cambios en el salario de las y los docentes
en el período 2011-2018 y para ello, se toma como referencia el salario mínimo y el costo de la canasta básica de alimentos. Los
datos encontrados demuestran una estabilidad con una pequeña tendencia al alza de los salarios docentes en comparación con los
parámetros escogidos, a su vez, se puede verificar una agudización de las oportunidades laborales de las y los docentes la cual incide
en la enseñanza escolar. Se espera que con este artículo se tomen las acciones pertinentes para la creación de una política integral
de ingreso a la docencia con enfoque en el desarrollo profesional docente.

This text aims to discuss the identity of the historian, the places of performance of the trainer and the relationshipo among these places of performance and the drawings of the higher education courses of history in Brazil. To this end, we seek in the specialized bibliography guidelines about what forms the professional of history, we analyzed twenty-two curricula of undergraduade courses in History as regards the profile outlined for this professional from the compositions of the disciplines and we discussed the various fields of activity of the profesional of History systematizing and old discussion, but litle detailed on whisch the activities to be developed by thesse profesionals in files, museums, memorials and, more recently, in advising the media of all kinds.

Resumen / Summary

Esta investigación documental tiene como objetivo, reflexionar sobre la pertinencia del modelo de tecnología social vigente, en la actualidad, para la formación del personal académico en la Universidad del Zulia (LUZ), a partir de los diagnósticos efectuados tanto por la autoridades universitarias como por los especialistas del área. Los resultados revelaron que, a pesar de que en el ámbito formal la actualización del académico es primordial para la institución, de acuerdo con los reglamentos, menos del 45% del profesorado activo tiene acceso al modelo en vigor y en la práctica un porcentaje menor aun logra usufructuarlo (31%) y darle aplicación en al ámbito universitario (20%)  Se concluye que el modelo vigente no se ha adaptado suficientemente a las nuevas realidades y por lo tanto, no cubre las expectativas que los valores de excelencia de la Universidad pregonan. 

The aim of this documentary research, is to reflect upon how significant the current social technology model is for academic staff training in the Universidad del Zulia (LUZ).  The diagnosis was carried out by both the university authority’s and specialist on the subject.  The result revealed that academics´ training is crucial. In spite of this, less than 45% of the teachers on active service have access to the current model and a lesser percentage is able to take profit of it (31%) and apply it at university (20%). As a conclusion, the model in force has not been completely adjusted to the new reality and therefore, it does not meet the expectations of the University excellence values.
