Los puertos marítimos desarrollan una importante actividad económica y ocupan un papel principal en el comercio internacional, siendo motores de desarrollo económico de las ciudades, regiones y países donde se encuentran. Teniendo en cuenta dicha importancia, el presente artículo pretende estudiar la organización y el régimen jurídico de los mismos en la Unión Europea, donde no existe un único modelo portuario sino tres tipos distintos: hanseático, anglosajón y latino. Escogiendo un país que representa a cada modelo (Alemania como máximo exponente del modelo hanseático, Reino Unido del anglosajón e Italia del latino), el artículo analiza las principales características y diferencias entre los tres tipos. Se trata de un estudio de Derecho comparado que ha sido galardonado en el año 2013 con el premio Accésit II Pablo Acero de la Asociación Internacional de Derecho Portuario.

The rehabilitation of the technology of road transport in Greek and Roman World is now accepted, after a long time of rejection during the 20th century. The ancient harnesses used, yoke and little yoke, belong to the universal categories of carriage traction. They are efficient and assume correctly the economic necessities, even during the economic growth of the Roman Principate. So it became necessary to bring together the dispersed data about the weights that could possibly be carried on the road and the mechanical context of the animal energies that were used. That is the aim of this contribution. We further propose an original solution to understand the 'minimalist' passage of the Codex Theodosianus (CTh 8.5) which is still in debate. The data brought together should be of interest for economic historians and archaeologists of Greece and Rome.

Transportasi merupakan gerakan berpindah orang atau barang dari tempat asal ke tempat tujuan baik menggunakan kendaraan maupun tidak menggunakan kendaraan. Pergerakan tersebut sering kali menimbulkan konflik lalu lintas terutama pada persimpangan ruas jalan. Konflik tersebut disebabkan oleh ruang gerak yang tidak mencukupi akibat tidak seimbang nya kapasitas jalan dengan volume kendaraan yang ada maupun hambatan samping di ruas jalan tersebut. Dari hasil pengamatan penulis secara visual persimpangan yang ada di Kota Tegal sebagian besar belum teratur dan sering terjadi kesemrawutan yang berujung pada kemacetan. Sedangkan menurut buku Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia tahun 1997 kondisi ruas jalan yang memiliki tingkat kecelakaan per satu juta kendaraan yang paling rendah adalah pada simpang bundaran, maka dari itu penulis akan mencoba untuk membuktikan kebenaran dari teori tersebut. Penulis mengambil sampel di Kota Tegal tepatnya pada persimpangan ruas jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan yang menggunakan simpang bundaran.

Domestic trade is the Backbone of the national economy. Egypt has a volume of domestic freight, half billion tons (ministry of transport), which refers to the large size of the market and number of consumers comparing to the neighboring countries, and according to the World Economic Forum which, Indicated that Egypt Population 86.7 (millions), GDP 286.4US$ billion, GDP per capital (US$) 3,304, and GDP (PPP) as share of world total is 0.87%. While Egypt multiple transportation modes suffer from an imbalance between modes, where 95% of Egypt freight moved through Roads, 4% moved by railways and 1% moved by Nile river transport.
To restore the balance between the modes there is a need to Apply Multimodal Transportation System in Egypt and apply the optimal integration between the different modes. This paper aims to present the significance of the multimodal transportation concept and transportation mode integration.  Moreover, reviewing the transportation system in Egypt and its status, especially Nile river transportation system, to discuss the level of integration between the different modes, moreover to identify the factors that lead the system to success and factors that hold it back

Kota Makassar adalah salah satu kota dunia yang ada di Kawasan Indonesia Timur. Sebagai ibu kota dari Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan sudah seyogyanya mempunyai sarana dan prasrana transportasi yang memadai dalam menunjang kelangsungan pertumbuhan ekonomi di Kawasan Indonesia Timur. Tingkat kepadatan moda transportasi darat semakin hari tidak terkontrol oleh laju pertumbuhan kendaraan. Hal tersebut tidak ditunjang dengan pembangunan jalan darat, sehingga terjadi kemacetan di jalan-jalan kota. Melihat polemik yang terjadi di kota Makassar tentang kemacetan, perlu di adakan kajian yang lebih mendalam tentang pengambilan kebijakan yang diberlakukan pemerintah kota. Kemacetan moda transportasi darat merupakan salah satu hambatan dari laju pertumbuhan ekonomi di kota-kota berkembang, tidak hanya di Makassar tetapi di kota-kota lain pun seperti itu. Salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi kemacetan yang terjadi di kota-kota besar adalah dengan mengembangkan moda transportasi lain yang lebih ekonomis. Pengembangan transportasi perairan daratan adalah salah satu alternative pengalihan moda transportasi darat yang bermasalah dengan kemacetan. Salah satu faktor pendukung pengembangan moda transportasi perairan daratan adalah ketika terjadi kemacetan di jalan raya.

Over the last two decades, transit-oriented development (TOD) has been widely implemented as an integrated strategy to enhance urban livability. Urban mobilities are produced through different relations, interactions and materialities. Different combinations of these factors lead to different mobilities, some of which are more sustainable than others. Moreover, mobilities are influenced, shaped and produced through the materialities that create power relations between mobilities and people and that reinforce certain unsustainable ways of moving in the urban space. This paper focuses on the Western Harbour in the city of Malmö, Sweden, which is an area that has been developed during the era of sustainable development and thus the production of mobilities as part of the development should have been sustainable. However, it is shown in this paper that this has not been the case. In particular, peoples’ movements and how they use urban space have not been in focus during the development of the Western Harbour area. While cycling through the Western Harbour, the experience is that obstacles are often in the way and that the network within the area is not connected and is confusing. Moreover, the dominance of cars is very distinct. In this paper, I argue that these materialities influence mobilities and that this can lead to the dominance of unsustainable forms of mobility. By analysing urban mobilities in the Western Harbour, I show that urban planning, even though it might have sustainability as its foundation, can lead to materialities that produce unsustainable mobilities.

This article explores how the organisation of urban and transport planning departments affects the development of a sustainable transport system and the promotion of bicycling. Interviews conducted in Stockholm and Copenhagen showed that the organisation of the departments affects the social relations between the planners and creates power relations that either foster or marginalise cycling within planning processes. In Copenhagen, an integrated planning organisation allows for more knowledge exchange between urban, transport, and bicycle planners and creates an environment of understanding for different professional views on planning. However, this is not the case in Stockholm where cycling is marginalised in planning and in the existing infrastructure. This study concludes that the integrated transport and urban planning organisation in Copenhagen promotes cycling more than the less integrated planning organisation in Stockholm. Furthermore, it is concluded that the different organisations have led to different power relations that shape the outcome of the planning processes.

El objetivo central del artículo es dar cuenta de la transición de los sistemas de transporte en Colombia, para ello, se incorporaron algunos elementos del contexto en que éstos fueron instaurados, así como ciertas transformaciones económicas que lo propiciaron. Establecer un panorama general de los transportes implicó, por un lado, analizar las políticas económicas que han atenuado las variaciones, limitaciones y potencialidades de cada medio y, por otro, tener en cuenta una serie de elementos (geográfico, cultural, económico) que determinan su funcionamiento a nivel local, regional o nacional.

Since the introduction of economic reforms in the late 1970s, China has achieved remarkable success in reducing poverty in the country. China's experience of reducing poverty through the development of roads, investments in transportation infrastructure has been remarkably successful in bringing the country out of chaos and directed to the path of sustainable development and prosperity. Transportation infrastructures include roads, railways, ports, airports, and waterways, and typically these infrastructures have been financed, built, owned, and operated by the government at various levels.

Integrated geophysical investigation, involving the electrical resistivity and magnetic methods was carried out along ABUAD-Matthew roadway in Ekiti State. This was with a view to investigating the cause(s) of the persistent pavement failure recorded over the years along the road. The resistivity survey utilized 1-D Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) with the Schlumberger array was employed for this research. Total field data were acquired along the identified segments of the road at 5 m intervals. The data were inverted into resistivity structures and were used to constrain the location of the five (5) VES stations. The VES curves were interpreted quantitatively and the results were used to generate 3-D geoelectric sections. The geoelectric sections were characterized by the presence of sedimentary rocks whose materials can either be sandstone, Shale or Limestone with a resistivity value of 41.7-354.1 Ωm, the hardpan layer has a resistivity value of 41.7Ωm which indicates the presence of clay at 4.7 m depth. The fractured basement has a resistivity value of 354.1 Ωm which indicates the presence of rocks which can either be sandstone, Shale or Limestone for VES 1. Also, Alluivium, soils and water at 80 Ωm and 126.8 Ωm at VES 2. VES 3 indicates the presence of metamorphic rocks which can either be basalt, marble, quartzite at a resistivity value of 4815.3 Ωm. It can be seen from the research that clay was found at every depth ranging from 1.4 to 3m which isnt a good material for construction. Geophysical survey should not be neglected as it gelps us to know the geological properties of the underlying soil structure.

Melalui stasiun terpadu ini, pemerintah mengintegrasikan stasiun dengan moda transportasi lain. Seperti bis, MRT dan LRT serta angkutan umum lain termasuk ojek online. Menariknya, integrasi antar moda transportasi tidak hanya dalam bentuk fisik, layanan dan rute tapi juga sistem pembayarannya. Integrasi antarmoda menjadi kata kunci dalam menjawab setiap tantangan pembangunanan sarana transportasi publik di daerah-daerah. Manajemen dan integrasi transportasi publik yang baik ini pada akhirnya akan memberikan dukungan terhadap pembangunan sebuah daerah.

Effective implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) design offers many benefits to the local agency. These benefits include immediate improvement in traffic operations as well as the ability to collect data at a central location and provide important information to groups and departments throughout the agency. This paper addresses some of the challenges small-to medium-size agencies face when choosing and implementing a set of ITS technologies. It discusses strategies to meet these challenges, including implementation of a smaller pilot project and creation of a strategic plan that allows for system flexibility and future expansion. These and other strategies can help agencies realize early success with ITS. Finally, the paper presents a case study for the city of Lynnwood, Washington, illustrating the City's process over ten years of phased ITS implementation. The case study includes detailed technical information in the areas of Field Equipment, Communication, Central System, and Integration.

The paper studies a solution to improve urban public transport in Bucharest taking into account
opportunity for more efficient usage of the two transit modes with the exclusive way that operate at the
moment in Bucharest city: metro and light rail transit (LRT). We study the integrated urban transit services by
the correlation of metro and LRT schedules and frequencies. Every trip with origin and destination nodes
along the integrated transit path will have the minimum trip duration without any inference from traffic road
congestion and so, the certainty of trip duration and arrive time. The paper takes into consideration also the
main conditions to implement such a public transit, and the effect on car users in favor of the sustainability.
