Collaborative Transportation Management (CTM) is a collaboration model in transportation area. The use of CTM in today's business process is to create efficiency in transportation planning and execution processes. However, previous research paid little attention to demonstrate the ability for all agents in CTM to co-create value in services. The purpose of this paper is to increase the understanding of value co-creation in CTM area and learning processes in real systems based on value co-creation of CTM. Multiple case studies were used to analyze the value that was perceived by all agents in CTM in each collaboration stage and provided empirical evidence on the interactions among agents. A new public transportation network is currently being constructed in Riyadh city. Public buses and Riyadh metro are expected to be available for the passengers shortly. Based on the Saudi Vision 2030, the government directed billions of dollars to rehabilitate the infrastructures and sidewalks to support the national transformation to sustainable mobility. With that in mind, understanding the individual's choice of mobility mode is necessary to adopt appropriate planning and management policies. In this paper, a comprehensive assessment study has been carried out to examine the individual's travel patterns in Riyadh city through a case study of the Prince Sultan University's (PSU) community and evaluate the pedestrian environment's quality around the campus. Individuals' travel patterns were analyzed using a web-based survey addressed to the PSU community, including; Students, Faculty, and Staff. Moreover, the quality of the pedestrian's environment was in-situ evaluated based on well-defined indicators. The results of this assessment addressed the factors influencing the pedestrian mode choice and highlighted the barriers that may delay the transformation to sustainable mobility. Based on this study's conclusions, several recommendations have been proposed to promote the transformation to sustainable mobility in Riyadh city.

As far as an increasing number of scientists are warning us about the destructive potential of climate change, humanity is facing a tremendous technological revolution. Also, the potential of new technologies to decrease the carbon footprint is significant, but the transition is highly dependent on people's choices and behaviour. This is why, a new way of motivating people around the world emerged: gamification. But, as good and innovative this idea seems to be, as many concerns it rises. Because the focus is mainly on technology, in this paper I will analyse the process of gamification through the lens of the digital divide. The concept was first used in the 1990s to describe the social and economic gap that emerged between those who had access to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and those who did not. Today it is mainly focused on the possibility that people would become even more marginalized due to the lack of basic skills and the impossibility to afford the new technologies on the market. Consequently, my research question is: "Is it possible that the introduction of gamification in the field of transportation increases the digital divide?". I will try to answer this question by analysing what categories of people are targeted by gamification in transportation services and which are those that could be excluded. Also, my approach is not limited to a specific country or global area, but is considering gamification and digital divide at an international level.

The primary objectives of this study are to develop two roundabout entry capacity models using a regression-based multiple non-linear regression model (MNLR) and artificial intelligence (AI)-based ANFIS (adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system) model under heterogeneous traffic conditions. ANFIS is the latest technique in the field of AI that integrates both neural networks and fuzzy logic principles in a single framework. Required data have been collected from 27 roundabouts in eight states of India. To assess the significance of these models and select the best model among them, modified rank index is applied in this study. The coefficient of determination ( R2) and Nash–Sutcliffe model efficiency coefficient ‘ E’ values are found to be 0.92, 0.91 and 0.98, 0.98 for the MNLR and ANFIS model, respectively. The purpose of this study is to explore the vulnerability of physical distribution networks to antago- nistic threats. Previous research identifies globalization and Just in Time (JIT) as the main causes of vulnerability. However, cargo crime has always existed, even before the identification of these trends. In this explorative study new factors are brought to light. In particular, it appears that stake- holders’ dynamics are influencing the level of security.

In recent years, LADOT has had a series of problems ranging from high-turnover at the General Manager level to unethical practices of Traffic Officers in Parking Enforcement & Traffic Control, which resulted in damaging media coverage.  The Office of the City Controller identified a number of short-comings in its 2011 audits in the areas of traffic control, citation processing, and meter collections.  Therefore, on the basis of its audits and in response to the Mayor’s request, the City of Los Angeles Office of the Controller (Controller) engaged KH Consulting Group (KH) to conduct a Comprehensive Management Review of the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT).

Given the need for meaningful and lasting change within LADOT, KH took a different approach from traditional management audits, namely, to facilitate a “change management approach” and work directly with LADOT management and staff, while retaining the independence of an external review. 

KH conducted the Comprehensive Management Review in two Phases.  Phase I was a reconnaissance to identify the key areas for improvement, starting with the Management Review objectives.  The City Controller and LADOT agreed to the opportunities requiring improvement that KH identified.  During Phase II, KH formed Action Planning Teams (APTs) to focus on each improvement opportunity.  KH performed the following tasks in Phase I and Phase II:

- Identified LADOT’s strengths to form the foundation for addressing opportunities for improvement in Phase II
- Completed more than 40 interviews with LADOT staff members – many on multiple occasions.
- Completed 22 interviews with City officials and other governmental agencies that interface with LADOT
- Completed a review of documents relevant to the major processes and issues to be addressed by the Action Planning Teams (APTs)
- Conducted an online survey of 919 LADOT managers and employees regarding the kinds of work they do, and their assessment of key activities, work culture, and processes within the Department. 
- Recommended needed changes in the Department’s Organization Structure and Delegated Authorities
- Formed seven Action Planning Teams (APTs) to:
- Begin a process of management and cultural change that would result in more openness and innovation
- Identify best practices within the City and in other municipalities that could provide models to be adapted to LADOT needs
- Focus on Department-wide collaboration to bring together representatives of all of the key units to work toward common goals
- Develop and recommend systems that appear seriously underdeveloped or altogether missing

Fuel Sustainability Internal combustion engine Transportation Energy a b s t r a c t Hydrogen is recognized as a key source of the sustainable energy solutions. The transportation sector is known as one of the largest fuel consumers of the global energy market. Hydrogen can become a promising fuel for sustainable transportation by providing clean, reliable, safe, convenient, customer friendly, and affordable energy. In this study, the possibility of hydrogen as the major fuel for transportation systems is investigated comprehensively based on the recent data published in the literature. Due to its several characteristic advantages, such as energy density, abundance, ease of transportation, a wide variety of production methods from clean and renewable fuels with zero or minimal emissions; hydrogen appears to be a great chemical fuel which can potentially replace fossil fuel use in internal combustion engines. In order to take advantage of hydrogen as an internal combustion engine fuel, existing engines should be redesigned to avoid abnormal combustion. Hydrogen use in internal combustion engines could enhance system effi-ciencies, offer higher power outputs per vehicle, and emit lower amounts of greenhouse gases. Even though hydrogen-powered fuel cells have lower emissions than internal combustion engines, they require additional space and weight and they are generally more expensive. Therefore, the scope of this study is hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engines. It is also highlighted that in order to become a truly sustainable and clean fuel, hydrogen should be produced from renewable energy and material resources with zero or minimal emissions at high efficiencies. In addition, in this study, conventional, hybrid, electric, biofuel, fuel cell, and hydrogen fueled ICE vehicles are comparatively assessed based on their CO 2 and SO 2 emissions, social cost of carbon, energy and exergy efficiencies, fuel consumption, fuel price, and driving range. The results show that when all of these criteria are taken into account, fuel cell vehicles have the highest average performance ranking (4.97/10), followed by hydrogen fueled ICEs (4.81/10) and biofuel vehicles (4.71/10). On the other hand, conventional vehicles have the lowest average performance ranking (1.21/10), followed by electric vehicles (4.24/10) and hybrid vehicles (4.53/10). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui besaran pengaruh kualitas pelayanan terhadap kepuasan penumpang pada PT. (Persero) Angkasa Pura I Bandar Udara Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar dan mengetahui tingkat besaran kepuasan penumpang pada PT. (Persero) Angkasa Pura I bandar Udara Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar.Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui met ode survei, kuesioner dan wawancara langsung dengan penumpang.Data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini meliputi kualitas pelayanan, harapan dan kepuasan penumpang.Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah penumpang sebanyak 480 orang, dan teknik pengambilan sampelnya melalui dengan accidental sampling.Data ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan program SPSS versi 17.0.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh kualitas pelayanan dengan nilai nagelkerke (R square) adalah sebesar 0,27artinya variasi yang terjadi pada kepuasan penumpang oleh kualitas pelayanan sebesar 27%. Dengan demikian kualitas pelayanan bukan merupakan variabel utama yang mempengaruhi kepuasan penumpang tetapi dapat dipengaruhi juga oleh variabel lain yang tidak dijelaskan dalam tabel ini. Terdapat hubungan langsung yang signifikan antara variabel kualitas pelayanan dengan kepuasan penumpang, rata-rata 40% menyatakan puas, dengan urut-urutan kualitas pelayanan adalah Responsiveness (69%), Assurance (66%), Reliability (64%), Tangible (63%), dan Empathy (61%). secara keseluruhan responden menyatakan puas.

This study aims to determine and analyze the contribution of transformational leadership styles and organization policy on employee job satisfaction which has implications for organizational performance in the Athamara Group. Some of the problems on Athamara Group as one of the national shipping company in Indonesia, namely, the level of employee job satisfaction and organizational performance is still low. The research sampling technique used a saturated sample of 102 people. Descriptive statistical analysis and path analysis were used as the analysis method. The results of this study are from seven proposed hypotheses, six of which are accepted and one of the hypotheses have no significant effect on organizational performance. The indirect contribution of transformational leadership style to organizational performance is through employee job satisfaction, although employee job satisfaction has no significant contribution on organizational performance. Finally, organizational policy has an indirect contribution on organizational performance through employee job satisfaction. The indirect contribution of organizational policy to organizational performance is through employee job satisfaction, although employee job satisfaction has no significant contribution on organizational performance. The key funding, that transformational leaders will convey organizational policy properly and appropriately, so that they are easily understood and implemented by employees.

L’Abruzzo gode di una posizione strategica per i trasporti marittimi trovandosi al centro dell’Adriatico, a circa metà strada tra Ancona e Bari, e lungo una direttrice est-ovest alternativa nelle dinamiche del trasporto europeo che potrebbe collegare i porti spagnoli di Barcellona e Valencia con Civitavecchia, Roma e infine i Balcani. Anche dal punto di vista turistico un porto abruzzese potrebbe ben competere con Ancona e Bari per il collegamento con Croazia, Montenegro, Albania e Grecia e vista la sua posizione potrebbe essere l’opzione migliore per gli utenti di Roma, Lazio e Toscana rispetto ad Ancona e ai porti pugliesi.
Purtroppo tale vocazione è stata mortificata da vent’anni di errori della politica regionale che, volendo assegnare a tutti i costi l’egemonia al porto di Pescara, ha sfibrato inutilmente il dibattito e la progettazione intorno ad un’impossibile (per problemi gravi e irresolubili) vocazione dello scalo pescarese a rivestire, da solo, il ruolo di grande porto abruzzese dimenticando che ad appena venti chilometri a sud est esiste il porto di Ortona, sottoutilizzato ma con i fondali adatti, ben collegato e infrastrutturato.
Scopo del presente lavoro è quello di dimostrare che sarebbe una grande opportunità per il traffico commerciale transeuropeo ma anche per l’economia abruzzese la creazione di una realtà portuale forte che possiamo immaginare bipolare, incardinata sui porti di Pescara e Ortona, riservando al primo la diportistica e i collegamenti turistici con le Tremiti, il Gargano e la Croazia e al secondo la funzione di porto commerciale.
Abruzzo enjoys a strategic position for maritime transport being located in the center of the Adriatic, about halfway between Ancona and Bari, and along an alternative east-west route in the dynamics of European transport that could connect the Spanish ports of Barcelona and Valencia with Civitavecchia, Rome and finally the Balkans. Even from a tourist point of view, an Abruzzo port could well compete with Ancona and Bari for the connection with Croatia, Montenegro, Albania and Greece and given its position it could be the best option for users of Rome, Lazio and Tuscany compared to Ancona. and to the ports of Puglia.
Unfortunately, this vocation has been mortified by twenty years of errors in regional policy which, wanting to assign hegemony to the port of Pescara, has unnecessarily exhausted the debate and the planning around an impossible (due to serious and irresolvable problems ) vocation of the Pescara port to play, alone, the role of the main  port of Abruzzo region, forgetting that just twenty kilometers to the southeast there is the port of Ortona, underused but with suitable seabed and well-connected.
The purpose of this work is to demonstrate that it would be a great opportunity for trans-European commercial traffic but also for the Abruzzo economy to create a big port, that we can imagine as bipolar, hinged on the ports of Pescara and Ortona, reserving yachting and the tourist connections with the Tremiti, the Gargano and Croatia to the former and the function of commercial port to the latter.

Motorcycles contribute significantly to the number of motorized transports on the road in Ogun State, Nigeria. This development is attributable to poor public transport supplies, urban sprawl, and bad road conditions. The use of motorcycles in Ogun State is associated with high accident rates both on the side of the riders and the passengers.

Traffic Operation Centers (TOCs) require dedicated management and staff with specialized skills and training. They
also rely on advanced technologies and require dedicated operating and capital funding. Each new investment in TOC‟s technologies and/or services should allow agencies to proactively manage and control traffic in a manner that
optimizes the performance of a surface transportation system. The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has
commissioned a study to identify potential technological and service improvements for UDOT Traffic Management Center (TMC). The goal of the study is to synthesize the current state of practice on applying innovative and advanced procedures, applications, and tools in operations of TMCs. This report presents outcomes from such a study which was divided into two major phases: a broad web-based survey of the selected agencies and a set of field visits to few of those agencies-leaders in TOC operations. The web based survey was administered through SurveyGizmo during April and May of 2012. Survey contained 22 questions which were developed in accordance
with UDOT needs to investigate improvements areas in its TOC operations. After reviewing responses from 54 agencies UDOT technical advisory team selected a list of TMCs which were good candidates to interview during a field visit. Two field-visit tours were organized. The first one was a tour of “Eastern States” TMCs between June 4th and 7th, during which TMCs of following DOTs were visited: Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Virginia. The second tour visited “Western States” TMCs, from July 9th to 11th, when the UDOT team visited California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS) offices in Sacramento and San Francisco and Kansas City SCOUT in Missouri. A literature review of some of the most prominent TMCs in the world shows some interesting international applications which may show directions in which US TMCs will go in near future. The report is
summarized through the best TMC practices from the field visits and literature review by providing a comprehensive list of the highlights at the end of the report (Chapter 6).

While awareness of the benefits of cooperatives has begun to grow in the community, there are about 30% cooperatives that are either not active or deficient in the performance. This condition impacts to the value of the firm. This study aims to determine the relationship between cooperative business performance and the value of the firm. This study used descriptive research methods, with data collected from a sample size of 39 sharia savings and loan cooperatives in West Java.

The results of this research show that the performance of sharia savings
and loan cooperatives in West Java is still in the moderate category with
an average score of 61.16, where the factor of productive asset quality is
the most influential factor in the business performance of cooperatives
(49.3%). Value of firm cooperatives in West Java is still showing poor performance, where the average Return of Asset was 6.7%. The performance of business cooperatives’ influence on the value of the firm is 36%. Based on the result it is obligated to perform guidance from the relevant agencies so that the level of risk in the management of cooperatives, especially those related to the quality of earning assets is increased, the efficiency of cooperatives especially those related to business costs need to be managed well so that financial performance can be improved.

In the Supreme Court case between Doug Paulley and First Group (FirstGroup Plc v Paulley, 2017) it was argued that wheelchair passengers were being discriminated against by the policies adopted by First Group regarding the wheelchair space provided on buses. This thesis contends that the problems faced by key vulnerable groups is not because of any discrimination but the tension between government policy to make society accessible and the need for bus companies to remain in business. At the centre of this tension is the bus driver, who must meet the demands of his employer by ensuring that the bus runs to time and having to meet the needs of the passengers. Problems can arise when the two are in conflict, for example when the bus is running late, and the driver is required to stop for a wheelchair passenger, and the driver is required to decide as to whether he meets the needs of his employer or delay the service to pick up the passenger.
This thesis contends that if bus companies are required to operate under normal competition conditions, and government policy is based on the expectation that competition will create the desired effects, for example reducing social exclusion, then attention must be focused on the tension between government and company policy. Therefore, to ensure that the UK bus service is fully accessible, and that all passengers are treated equally, managers of UK bus companies must view themselves as providing a public service. This does not mean that they should not be profitable, but that they should be open and transparent in how they manage the service, ensuring that they consult and inform passengers and public on all aspects of the service, including the construction and implementation of policies.

Today, overcrowded public transport demand, resulting in huge costs in an urban area. Similarly, there are a lot of people who use public transport in Hawassa city. This study aimed to develop public transport users' trip production models at the household level. Some socioeconomic characteristics and trip detail of the public transport users were collected randomly from the different households through a questionnaire survey. The data gathered was fed into IBM SPSS package version 20 to develop linear regression models. The developed models are associated with trips for purpose and time intervals of trips made. The developed linear regression models, general trips, work trips, educational trips, and trips made before 8:00 AM and after 4:00 PM had good explanatory power. The value of explanatory power comprised of 0.656, 0.722, 0.549, 0.610 and 0.510. These values indicated the explanation power of the socioeconomic characteristics on the trips made. It means the daily trips production was significantly affected by the number of working individuals, the different age brackets, cars and motorcycles, and the monthly income per household. The most frequent public transport users' trips production regarding the trip purpose and time are work trips and occurred after 4:00 PM. This scenario represented a good model developed in this study. Hence, it is suggested that Hawassa city's traffic management office use the developed models to predict the future trips demand to provide a proper scheme to avoid congestion during the peak hour of the day.

Roads in the sub-Saharan region particularly Nigeria, are bedevilled with incessant road crashes and have generated a multi-stakeholder response to addressing the challenge. Despite various interventions of governments at all levels in the past, the issue still lingers. Will it be a threat to sustainable development in Nigeria? This paper reviews road situation in Nigeria visa -vis her economy and development. A systematic search of published literature was conducted. Peer-reviewed journals, literature (technical reports, government documents, etc) and internet articles were consulted for the review. The review found that the policies and programmes on road safety exist but the implementation lacked strong political drive and commitment like such witnessed in this COVID-19 era. This paper concluded that for the target 3.6 of Sustainable Development Goal 3 to be met by the end of this year 2020 in Nigeria, road safety challenge has to be declared a pandemic.

It has been suggested in the literature that low-cost airlines have, in varying degrees, departed from the original low-cost model introduced by Southwest Airlines. This study provides a multi-year analysis in the post-9/11 time period, for the years 2004-2009, of the demonstrated strategic positioning choices of U. S. low-cost airlines. The sample utilized is restricted to U. S. low-cost carriers so as not to conflate operating environments. Furthermore, a quantitative methodology is employed to measure effectively these choices and to facilitate inter-airline comparisons. Airlines, as part of their strategic planning process, articulate positions with regard to cost leadership, product differentiation, and growth. Decisions implemented are dynamic and inter-temporal in nature. Managers thus need a multi-period methodology to evaluate the implementation of strategic positions. One such approach is the strategic analysis of operating income utilized in this study.

In the post-9/11 environment, organizations are acutely aware of the need to secure their supply chains from risks of being a target of, or an unwilling participant in, a terror attack. However, supply chain security (SCS) comes at a cost and increasing levels of protection have increasing levels of costs to the firm. So some firms engage in strategic initiatives to secure the supply chain (SC) while others do not; and each firm engages in varying degrees of activities to ensure SCS. Therefore, in this study, the researchers sought to explore what types of SCS strategies exist. The researchers analyze 162 responses to a SCS survey completed by executives from a broad range of firms and industries and identify three general SCS strategies: Advanced, Laggards, and Compliant. Implications for researchers and practitioners are presented.

The formulation of policies requires the selection and configuration of effective and acceptable courses of action to reach explicit goals. A one-size-fits-all policy is unlikely to achieve the desired goals; as a result, the identification of a suite of alternative policies, together with clear indications of their trade-offs, is crucial to accommodate the diversity of stakeholders’ preferences. At present, the formulation of transport policies is done manually; this fact, together with the size of the space of possible policies, results in a large part of that space being left unexplored. A six-step framework to explore the space of alternative transport policies in order to achieve environmental targets is proposed. The process starts with a user-defined set of specific policy measures, using them as building blocks in the generation of alternative policy packages, clusters and future images according to the user's preferences and goals.The analysis framework is based on the visioning and backcasting approach used in the VIBAT report [Banister, D., & Hickman, R. Important insights on how to develop the framework have also been elicited from engineering design. The goal is to accelerate the task of policy-making and improve the effectiveness of the resulting policies.The proposed method and computer implementation is fundamentally different from the tools commonly used in the transport sector and is intended to assist (not replace) transport policy makers, and complement (not substitute nor compete with) existing mathematical modelling tools. This research constitutes the first step towards the development of a general family of computer-based systems that support the design of policies to achieve environmental targets—not only for transport, but also for other sectors such as energy and water.

The emirate of Abu Dhabi is setting the stones of its new urban framework and transportation policies, as a crucial step in achieving Abu Dhabi Economic Vision for 2030. The new urban framework recognizes the need for public transit to meet the travel demand of the anticipated three million residents in the city of Abu Dhabi, as well as commuters from neighboring cities. Ongoing work is focused on improving the connectivity and mobility of the Central Business District (CBD), while future work will involve the development of a second pivotal center, a Capital District, along with setting the boundaries of the capital industrial zones.

The Capital District is positioned around major new Emirati neighborhoods. It will become the new face of Abu Dhabi as the center of government and knowledge, while the CBD transforms into the finance and commerce center. High-Tech and clean industries will concentrate east of the Capital District around the airport. The centers will carry similar weights of jobs and office space, distributing the jobs between two employment centers. Both centers will be surrounded by residential districts, which hopes to redirect the traffic flow into several direction and avoid traffic congestion.

The Emirati residential neighborhoods surrounding the capital are built around high dense commercial nodes. Most of the residential neighborhoods are of low density, but higher density alternatives are also included to provide a variety in housing choice. The proposed new residential neighborhoods are mixed used developments. The urban design is configured for family housing clusters that encourage walking. 
This study suggests the implementation of transit-oriented development in the new Capital District and its suburbs, instead of the current design of assigning “zones” for each function and then facilitating the movement between these functional zones with roads and public transit. In order to support this claim, the study examines the historic and future urban growth trends of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in relation to the transportation demand. It analyzes them against external and internal factors that affect transit travel demand, in order to detect possible travel trends that would encourage further transit developments in the new district.

An important external factor to transit demand is fuel price. In alignment with the recent elimination of the fuel price subsidy in the UAE, the study examines the potential effect of fluctuating fuel prices on Abu Dhabi public transit demand by analyzing the trends of cross-elasticities of public transit demand with respect to fuel price for a number of countries around the world.

The study also examines policies and legislations that could encourage Abu Dhabi vehicle users to use public transit modes, by looking at the different congestion pricing schemes applied in, New York, Singapore, Stockholm and London, the study examines how congestion pricing schemes can similarly influence commuters to move towards public transit in Abu Dhabi.

The aim of the study is to help the policy makers in Abu Dhabi as well as other cities of similar conditions in the region, develop sustainable cities using transit oriented development, by presenting some of the economic incentives and the implementation tools that are important in realizing such development.

The Bowersox Daugherty (1987) logistics strategy typology (Process Strategy, Market Strategy, and Information Strategy) is an important conceptual framework for studying logistics/supply chain management strategy and its role on logistics/supply chain management outcomes. The purpose of this research is to empirically apply the typology in Peru and compare the findings with the previous research conducted in Guatemala. The three Bowersox/Daugherty dimensions are used to define the construct Overall Logistic Strategy (OLS), and then, the OLS was used to measure Organizational Competitiveness (COMP) through two intervening variables LCE (Logistics Coordination Effectiveness) and CSC (Customer Service Commitment). An accurate forecasting system has manifested its role as an enabler in supply chains (SC), which makes the operation possible in a maximally synchronized manner. Its applications have gained the attention of scholars across various disciplines such as forecasting in market behavior analysis and tourism industry; material requirement planning in production; transport and logistics foresight in networks and facilities. Seaports, as specific SC members, are not an exception. Accurate forecasting is needed in almost all aspects of the ports' operation to avoid financial losses related to inappropriate investments and planning. The paper addresses the forecasting of joint demand-supply cargo throughputs in the Adriatic Seaport Koper. The research presents a new forecasting approach, namely, DFA-ARIMAX (Dynamic Factor Analysis-ARIMAX modeling). External economic indicators were screened to obtain useful information using the DFA prior to directing the dynamic factors into the ARIMAX forecasting model. The principal component regression and Monte Carlo framework were included to identify indicators that are unique to the port. Findings revealed that a forecasting system by its enriched capabilities to predict the observed throughputs could be seen as Functional Decision Support System. The benchmarking shows that proposed models outperform competitive models. Practical implications are discussed in detail.

The length of road network in Indonesia continues to increase gradually in every year. This increase will influence an availability of natural resources as the formation materials of road structures. For that, it is necessary to develop a green road concept that is able to reduce the use of natural resources and minimize the occurrence of waste materials generated. This concept is an ongoing movement that targets the construction of the planning, implementation, and usage of environmentally friendly construction products, efficient in energy and resource usage, and low cost and the achievement of appropriate construction quality. Increased waste materials in the construction process is one aspect that must be minimized in order to achieve the concept of green roads. This study aims to analyze the relationship and influence the factors of application of green roads concept to waste management of road construction project. Another purpose is to know the dominant factors affecting waste management of road construction projects. This study was done for road construction process in the Banda Aceh in Indonesia. This research uses qualitative and quantitative methods through the distribution of questionnaires. Respondents in this study were 90 units of road contractor companies has implemented projects from 2010 to 2016. The research result shows that the factor of application of green road concept that has the most influence on waste management is economic factor. The effect of this economic factor on road waste management is 18.7%. This indicates that if economic factor is enhanced, the waste management will increase on road construction project in Banda Aceh City.

Globalization has increased the pressure on airlines to improve maintenance schedule reliability and increase maintenance efficiency to optimize its performance to survive in airline industry while maintaining regulatory compliance. The aircraft operating cost and customer satisfaction are the two major challenges that airline industries have to deal within the 21st Century. Aircraft maintenance and operation planning play a major role in both of them. According to the IATA 2016 report, the maintenance cost takes up about 13% of the total operating cost and it can be reduced by effective and efficient maintenance and operation planning. On the other hand, an excellent maintenance program can effectively avoid flight delays and cancellations, while improving the customer satisfaction and competitiveness in the industry. It means minimizing the ground time where aircraft, airline, airport, and air traffic control clearly interact. Ground time is important for the airline industry because the lower the ground time, the higher the utilization of the aircraft and this would lower the direct operational costs.
The theoretical outcome of this study showed the importance of understanding the pattern of maintenance demand and how reliable it is likely to be in managing the demand more effectively and efficiently with available recourses. According to this study Srilankan airline has to understand the importance of using mix of lead, lag and match strategies to cope with it capacity changes according to hanger limitation and the value of forcing it attention on the maintenance demand from third-party aircrafts rather than the direct demand from its own passengers. Also there is great potential for expanding third party maintenance if Srilankan airline is capable to generate the capital for increase in hangar capacity.
