Healthy Eating Habits Equal an Overall Better Life - Peyton Baker
Introduction
Body positivity is a message that people should always be preaching. We should each be proud of our body and the things that we can do with it. It doesn’t matter what race, nationality, gender, or age group you fall under. Just being a human being is a miracle in itself and worthy of being celebrated in many ways.
There are too many of us who make the mistake of abusing our bodies and taking them for granted. Instead of maximizing the gift of life, we unknowingly tarnish it by engaging in bad habits that harm and compromise the integrity of our bodies. It’s important to note this book doesn’t seek to shame people who are obese or who don’t pay attention to their health. Rather, this book aims to highlight that these are very serious matters that need to be dealt with accordingly.
Again, every individual should be celebrating their own life by living it to the fullest. But at the same time, we need to take extra measures to protect our health and wellness. This is why it’s crucial to pay closer attention to how we treat our bodies. We can’t afford to take a passive approach to our health. One of the best ways that you can engage in self-love is to look over your health and wellness. Eat better. Exercise regularly. These are fairly simple struggles that an alarming bulk of the world still seems to struggle with on a daily basis.
It’s important to preface this book by emphasizing that its message is not confrontational or antagonistic. Rather, it’s one that comes from a place of genuine concern for your well-being. No one should ever be made to feel bad just for the way that they look, whether fat or skinny. Although, part of being a mature human being is also recognizing that there are parts of ourselves that may require further polishing or improvement. After all, none of us are perfect. We’re all a work in progress. We are all on this continuous path of self-development. And sometimes we can fall into habits that are terrible for our health. This is a poignant truth for many people, and it’s absolutely crucial to come to terms with that truth. Ultimately, it’s only through recognizing the problem wherein one develops the resolve to actually overcome it.
The next time you take a look at the mirror, take in the entirety of your reflection. Assess yourself. Look at all the parts of yourself that you love and are proud of. Be happy as you remind yourself of everything that you and your body have been through over the years. Think of all your successes and achievements. Then start looking at all the parts of your life that you could start improving. It’s not about not being happy in your own skin. Instead, it’s about finding fulfillment in knowing that you aren’t your best form yet. You still have so much room and potential for growth, and that should excite you. It’s such a thrill knowing that even though you’ve come so far already, the absolute best is yet to come. And that’s ultimately what this book is for. It’s here to help you on your journey toward becoming your best self. That’s all we could ever strive for in life, after all. No one is pressuring you to become someone else. Rather, you have to take it upon yourself to really become the best possible version of who you’re supposed to be.
As you may know, one of the keys to building a better life for yourself is practicing good habits consistently. But more importantly, you need to remove the bad habits that are holding you back. Sometimes, not all people are gifted with the knowledge or self-awareness to spot these bad habits. Some have good intentions and the motivation to better themselves but are not equipped with the proper roadmap on how to live fitter and healthier lives. This is exactly where this book comes in.
You may already know that the road toward health and fitness is not easy. You have probably already met so many people who have struggled with challenges like weight loss, exercise, or dieting. You may have struggled with this yourself. And that’s true. It really is a struggle. It really is a challenge. Health is not easy. If it were, then practically everyone in the world would be healthy. But that’s not the case. Taking care of your personal health requires a lot of knowledge, wisdom, and most importantly, discipline. This book will set you on the right path to achieve all of those things and more.
As cliché as it sounds, your health is really one of the best things that you could ever invest in. A lot of people think it’s too expensive to pay for gym memberships and high-quality food. Many say that they don’t have the time to cook their own meals because they’re too busy or stressed with work and other things. But what they don’t realize is that a failure to take care of your health and wellness can open you up to a lot of health trials and hardships in the future. Sadly, by the time they realize they should have been paying closer attention to their health, it will be too late. And that’s something that we want to avoid at all costs.
By reading this book, you are taking that first step in a journey toward becoming a better you. You are now effectively deciding that who you are will no longer suffice. Instead, you are more interested in becoming all you can truly be. It’s not going to be an easy journey. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t do it. Impossible is only
