    News

    Religion: We are practicing our prayer manners


    each day. We are learning a special prayer
    praising God for all that He has created. We
    attended Mass on Wednesday morning. Fr. Moises
    told us a wonderful story about a boy named
    Charlie during his homily.

    Reading: We read two stories in our reading text.


    We talked about cause and effect. We continued
    working with the sounds of ch, sh, and tch. We
    drew pictures and wrote a story ending for the
    story A Patch in a Pinch.
    Language Arts: We are reading and writing
    sentences each day. We are learning that all
    sentences begin with an uppercase letter and end
    with a punctuation mark. This week, we practiced
    our editing skills as we corrected sentences that
    did not follow these 2 rules.

    *STEM Night is Thursday, Oct. 1.

    *Art Zone is on Friday, Oct.2.


    Please make sure your child has a
    paint shirt in school.
    *Progress Reports will be sent
    home on Friday, October 2.
    Please sign and return the report
    to school by Tuesday, October 6.

    Math: We started the next chapter about


    subtraction strategies. We used connecting cubes
    to model taking away to solve subtraction
    problems. We have a new set of math vocabulary
    words to use throughout this chapter.
    Science: We are learning about plants. We
    described the things plants need to grow. We
    named the parts of a plant.

    We are celebrating!

    Star Students
    Thea was our star on Monday.
    She shared some of her
    favorite things with us. Her
    mom was our guest reader.
    Zachary was our star on
    Thursday. He brought some
    things to show the class. His
    mom was our guest
    reader on Thursday.
    Their Star posters
    are on display
    in our room.
