News

Religion: This week we are talking about the


Eucharist. We read the scripture story that tells us
about the first Mass.
Reading: We are working with long vowel sounds
spelled with 2 vowel letters. We practiced adding
endings of ing and ed. We are working on
identifying long and short vowel sounds in words.
Math: We practiced strategies for solving
subtraction problems. We used number lines to
count back to find the difference. We used the
related addition fact to solve the subtraction
problem. We used ten frames to solve subtraction
problems.

Science: We started our next unit the solar


system. We watched Discovery Education video
clips about the sun, the moon and the stars. We
shared our habitat facts with the class. The
dioramas will be on display during Catholic
Schools Week.
Social Studies: We started the next unit about jobs.
We used a job chart to organize information about
jobs at home and jobs at school.

Our stars this week are the Art


Zone Volunteers. With their help,
we drew and painted houses on
Friday. The children had great fun
and look forward to Art Zone each
month.
