Riverside Police Continue Mission-Specific Traffic Enforcement


The Intensified Traffic Enforcement (ITE) detail was operational Monday, November 9 and ran from 2PM to
9PM.
A total of 26 citations were issued for various violations and two arrests were made; one for DUI
and the other for driving while license suspended.
Other violations included speeding, stop signs, insurance, red lights, suspended/revoked registrations and
cannabis
RPD officers focused on neighborhood complaints or concerns received from our residents and business
community. Areas listed below were targeted at the
request of resident e-mails:

Ames School
RBHS
Hauser School
Woodside Road
Desplaines Ave
Addison Rd
Delaplaine Rd
Barrypoint Rd
Harlem Ave
Business District

Sgt. Jeff Miller stated, The goal of the Traffic Unit is to serve the community by enforcing motor vehicle
traffic laws and reducing the number and severity of accidents in the Village. Most of the current
enforcement programs are a direct response to community complaints regarding speeding and other
violations. The ultimate goal is to foster greater traffic safety for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians.
