PURPOSE
1.1 To ensure that quality in field construction is assured by designing a
procedure for monitoring the activities related to the installation and
related activities of LV switchgears, Motor Control Centres, Distribution
Boards and panels
1.2 To outline the functions and responsibilities to be performed by
concerned persons of contractor /Subcontractor in order to execute all
related activities within the scope of this procedure, as per contract
specifications.

SCOPE
This procedure is applicable to all Electrical Works related to LV
switchgears, Motor Control Centres, Distribution Boards and panels
installation by the Contractor for the captioned project

5.1 Safety personnel shall ensure that Company /Contractor safety
regulations and rules are strictly adhered.
5.2Risk Assessment for the activity identified and precautionary measures
are in place.
5.35.3 Necessary TBT (Tool Box talk) as required for the work shall be
given on daily basis.
5.4 PTW for the work obtained and available at the work location, along
with necessary additional permits.
5.5 In case work occurs in Brown field area OR inside EMAL operational
area, EMAL PTW system shall be followed.
5.6 Scaffoldings, if any, are inspected and are provided with proper tags.
The following manpower identified by trade will be deployed for the job.

7.0 SUPERVISION
7.1. The Project Manager assumes overall responsibility with regard to
Safety, Quality assurance & Quality Control, progress & efficiency, scope
changes, final & acceptance handover of the Project. He shall interact with
CLIENT for all jobs related activities.
7.2. The Construction Manager shall report to Project Manager and
responsible for monitoring and control of all construction activities related
to the captioned project. He shall interact with CLIENT for all jobs related
activities.
7.3. The Site Engineer shall report to Construction Manager and
responsible for supervision, control, implementation & execution of all
construction activities. He interacts with CLIENT representative for all jobs
related activities and responsible for day to day activities & preparation of
construction records.
7.4. QA-QC Engineer shall coordinate with Construction Manager and
reports to Project Manager & QA-QC Manager at Head-office and
responsible for implementation of related QA-QC activities for the work as
detailed in relevant ITP's. Materials procured and arriving on site will be
inspected by him to verify the compliance as per approved MAR. He will
conduct site inspection, monitor the activities for their compliance with
applicable drawings & specifications, and maintain quality records of
inspection for any future reference.
7.5. The Safety Engineer's responsibility is to ensure that all safety
precautions are in place, toolbox talk given, people are aware of hazards
involved and Personnel Protective equipments (PPE) are worn at all times.
8.0
MATERIALS PROCEDURE
Incoming Materials Inspection and Material Handling
Inspected Crane with appropriate tonnage and other certified lifting tools
shall be used to offload panels delivered at site and utmost care shall be
taken while offloading.
All free issue materials from the CONTRACTOR also shall be unpacked and
inspected in front of the CONTRACTOR inspector for their acceptance as
per specifications, approved material submission with component
descriptions, approved drawings and applicable standards.
Materials shall be shifted to the work area as per the planned schedule
only.
Unpacking shall be done only before its installation to protect them from
the dust, moisture, etc.
Fabrication works required for the panel support works shall be performed
from the fabrication area near the main site storage and no fabrication
works are entertained at the work area.
9.0
QC Check sheets as indicated in the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) shall be
completed by the CONTRACTOR and will be reviewed and approved by the
CONTRACTOR.
Field inspection shall be carried out as mentioned in Check sheets of ITP.

The necessary document / personnel approvals required from
CONTRACTOR/COMPANY prior to start above-mentioned activity are
