1. Scope of Works
Scope of Activities
This scope defines the minimum standards to be adopted when installing Light
Fixture in Hotel Guest Room, Corridor, Foyer, Front of House (FOH) and Back of
House (BOH). A light fixture or luminaire is an electrical device used to create
artificial light or illumination. A complete lighting fixture unit consists of the light
source or lamp, the reflector for directing the light, an aperture (with or without a
lens), the outer shell or housing for lamp alignment and protection, an electrical
ballast, if required, and connection to a power source.
Site Procedure
Site mobilization shall be done with real time monitoring the conditions & progress of
builder works. Before commencement of the work, carry out examination of the
physical condition of the area. Photographs should be taken where necessary, prior
to commencement and during works.
METHOD STATEMENT
I. Preparation stage
b. Engineer shall check to ensure that when installing Light Fixture in Hotel
Guest Room, Corridor, Foyer, Front of House (FOH) and Back of House
(BOH), architectural finishing work is completed.
c. Ensure there is any physical obstruction during the delivery light fixtures.
d. Ensure that the Light fixture design/equipment provided all are fully comply
with the specification.
e. Supplier shall deliver light fixtures unit to site and store it designated place.
f. Handle the light fixture unit with care to avoid damage to components, frame
and finish.
g. When the light fixtures unit is received, unpack it sufficiently to inspect it for
concealed damage to determine that the shipment is complete and correct.
h. If the light fixtures are to be stored prior to installation, replace the packing for
protection during that period. When conditions permit, leave the packing intact
until light fixtures unit are at their final installation location.
i. Protect the fixtures against the dust and debris during construction period.
j. A trolley or pallet may offer a more convenient method of handling the light
fixtures to shift from one location to other.
a. Site survey of the proposed light fixture is based on approved shop drawing
by foreman / sub-contractor together with Engineer.
b. Installation must be carried out based on approved shop drawings & samples
by foreman / sub-contractor.
c. Site co-ordination to be conducted to ensure all the lighting point or light fitting
would not obstructed by other services by Engineer and Supervisor.
d. Most wall and ceiling fixtures–other than recessed fixtures–fit into standard
electrical outlet boxes and are usually easy to mount.
f. Any additional mounting devices required for special types of fixtures are
usually included in the materials furnished by the manufacturer. Read and
follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully for a neat installation.
MOUNTING FLUORESCENT FIXTURES
s. To install a new fluorescent tube, insert the tube's prongs into the holder and
twist the tube to lock it into place.
bb. After installation of Light fixtures, Engineer-in-charge shall check the complete
works and complete the Inspection Checklist for Light Fixtures installation
works. ( See Appendix 1)
cc. Engineer-in-charge shall arrange and request for inspection with the Owner’s
representative Residential Technical Officer (RTO) using approved Main con
Request for Inspection (RIN) form.
4. Access / Egress
Proper step ladders shall be provided for access and egress into Distribution board as
applicable.
5. Lighting
Adequate temporary/task lighting shall be provided if work to be carried at night or at
dark places.
6. Plant & Equipment

9. Waste Management
The Rubbish which would be created from our scope of works will be disposed to the
designated dumping ground.
10. Special Control measures
The following general control measures against Safety, Environment and Quality shall be
required for our scope of work and special control measures are not applicable for us
All workers doing the work shall be briefed on this method statement and risk
assessment.
