“St. Francis Xavier, a welcoming faith community lovingly sharing the gifts of God.”

TH
6 SUNDAY OF EASTER
TH
MAY 9 , 2010
PRAYERS FOR THE DECEASED: We pray for our loved ones who have died recently.
PRAYERS FOR THE SICK AND SHUT-IN: “Let us raise up in prayer those who seek God’s
healing love, those at the hospital, hospice and at home”. We pray especially for Marjorie
Dolan, Brian Smith and Harold Bolger. May your struggle be consoled by Christ’s love“.

PRAYERS FOR THE SICK:

Part of our Faith Journey often involves the human challenge of sickness. We seek the blessing of
God to not only relieve us of the reality but to assist us with the challenges of living life in new
ways. God’s invitation to new life often involves sickness as part of the transition. We often invite
others to pray for and with us. This tradition is more than an information matter for the parish
bulletin-it is a request for prayer. In requesting people to pray with and for us we ask that you be
sensitive to the purpose of having names on a prayer request in the bulletin. Also one must be
certain that the person wishes to have the matter be made on their behalf. We hope to reinstate
a parish prayer ministry to assist the sick and dying.
CELEBRATING MASS COMPLETELY:
The Final Blessing, Dismissal, and Recessional Hymn are intricately part of the Mass. We conclude
the celebration as a people singing together. The celebrant and liturgical ministers lead us out of
the church to live what we have just received. The ongoing practice of leaving Mass at varying
stages post communion is disrespecting our community at worship. The regularity of this
practice is also encouraging others to join in this attitude. We respectfully request that you
be considerate of the order of the Mass and one another in following the liturgical ministers out
after the celebration has concluded.
SHOPPING COUPONS:
Several of our less fortunate families rely on assistance with the basic need of food. Often there
are coupons and vouchers for food products that we may not have a use for. Others could benefit
from them. Most are time dated but if they could be of use we invite you to drop them in
the coupon box now installed in the main foyer. Distribution of them will be through a new
assistance program that we are attempting to introduce to our community.

tremendous ongoing support!!! We are requesting that all outstanding tickets sold or unsold, be
returned via the collection baskets or the church office by May 30 th . This gives us two weeks be-
fore the draw to sell any that are left. To all who have worked so hard to help us reach our goal
of a sellout...the volunteers, the buyers, and the sellers, your dedication to the Parish is to be
commended and we thank you for making our job easy. For more tickets or info please call…
